WSU & NWS 3/22 "2nd Annual J-Cup Tournament" Results From Neptune, NJ in front of 200+ NWS promoter Joe Panzarino brought out the participants in this years tournament. However, Amber & Latasha, were unable to make the show due to a travel problem. Replacing Amber was Becky Payne. Leaving one spot open in the tournament. Becky Bayless got the microphone and told everyone Alexa Thatcher wouldn't be here tonight because last night herself & new WSU Champion Nikki Roxx took out Alexa. Becky said Alexa was unable to compete tonight, so due to that fact, she should get a bye into the next round. NWS commissioner Gino Moore said there was no way Becky Bayless is getting a bye due to her actions last night. Gino said there was someone in the building who had an issue with Becky. Gino then said he cleared everything with both NWS & WSU management, and named Tammy "Sunny" Sytch as the special guest commissioner. Tammy "Sunny" Sytch came out and talked about how Becky Bayless screwed her out of the WSU Championship less than 24 hours ago. Tammy said as commissioner, she found a special opponent for Becky in the first round, and that it was someone Becky knew very well. Becky said to just bring it, and Tammy said Becky wouldn't be so happy later on. In a Non J-Cup Tournament Match Bison Bravado d. Corey Havock after an Owendriver. J-Cup Tournament Round 1 Match Mercedes Martinez d. Jana after a neckbreaker off the top rope. J-Cup Tournament Round 1 Match Angel Orsini d. Roxxie Cotton via pinfall. J-Cup Tournament Round 1 Match Becky Bayless d. DAWN MARIE w/Tammy "Sunny" Sytch This was the wildest first round match of the tournament, as Tammy introduced Dawn Marie as Becky's opponent. Becky, who challenged Dawn at the last (3/8) WSU show, saw Dawn answer her challenge here. Becky has more than her hands full with these legends, as Becky is currently embroiled in a feud with both Tammy & Dawn. Due to Dawn's hatred for Becky, in what was a heated & emotional match, Dawn choked out Becky with a belt, while using the belt to hold Becky up in a camel clutch position. The ref asked Dawn to break the hold with the belt, but Dawn refused as she wanted to show Becky who was boss. After not respecting the referee's 5 count, Dawn Marie was disqualified and lost the match, but she won the battle. After the match, both Tammy & Dawn celebrated. In exclusive WSU DVD footage, a rematch between Becky & Dawn was set for a future WSU event. In a Non Tournament J-Cup Match Sal Sincere d. The Zombie J-Cup Tournament Round 2 Match Angel Orsini d. Becky Payne Due to a random lottery drawing backstage, Becky Payne received a first round bye as there were only 7 participants. However, despite being fresh, the powerful & more experienced Angel Orsini was able to dominate and win the match, propelling herself into the finals. J-Cup Tournament Round 2 Match Mercedes Martinez d. Becky Bayless after the match was re-started This was one of the most heated matches on the show. Around the 8 minute mark and after being dominated by Mercedes, Becky knocked the ref down. Becky then went to grab a lethal weapon, as she pulled out a 24 inch screwdriver, with intent to knock Mercedes out cold. However, the ref came to just as Becky was going to hit Mercedes. Taking a page out of Eddie Guerrero's book, Becky threw the screwdriver at Mercedes, which Mercedes caught and Becky took a dive. The ref, now fully revived, turned around and saw Becky knocked out & Mercedes with the weapon. The ref DQ'd Mercedes, giving Becky the win. The crowd flipped out, as the entire crowd screamed "BULLSHIT" & begged the ref to hear what really happened. However, the ref didn't budge, and awarded the match to Becky until.... Special guest commissioner Tammy "Sunny" Sytch came out to save the day! Tammy said she was watching the match because she knows of the tricks Becky is capable of. Tammy said there was no way this kind of stuff was going to be allowed and restarted the match. Tammy said to make sure that this didn't happen again, she would ref the match! With the match now restarted, Mercedes was able to beat Becky via pinfall, making the entire crowd happy. In an NWS Cruiserweight Title Match Strap Match Mikey Pacifica d. JD Smoothie to win the NWS Cruiserweight Championship This victory was short-lived, as after the match, Sal Sincere, on behalf of JD Smoothie invoked Smoothie's rematch clause. Smoothie would then defeat Pacifica, to win back the championship, as NWS fans witnessed NWS Wrestling History, as Pacifica became the shortest reigning NWS Cruiserweight Champion ever. J-Cup Tournament Round 3 Match ***FINALS*** Mercedes Martinez d. Angel Orsini to win the J-Cup Tournament This match was a complete brawl, as these on-again/off-again tag team partners destroyed each other. No chair was safe as these two brawled all over and threw each other all over the building. However, after brawling for 10 minutes, the two got in the ring, where Mercedes was able to cleanly pin Angel Orsini. After the match, the locker room emptied out as everyone celebrated Mercedes huge win. As a result of the win, Mercedes Martinez shoots up the list of WSU Championship contenders. Can Nikki Roxx's reign be short lived with Mercedes on the rise? One can not also forget about Angel Orsini, as she put on her most impressive WSU performance to date.
