Alicia Regains WSU Womens Championship Last night, on 8/18 in Neptune, NJ, at an NWS show, Alicia defeated Alexa Thatcher to win back the WSU Womens Championship. On 8/17, Alexa Thatcher was able to beat Alicia for the championship. Immediately after that match, Alicia invoked her rematch clause, which guaranteed Alicia a crack at regaining the championship at any time of her choosing. Alicia immediately chose the quickest date possible and put her plan to win back the gold right away. The NWS show on 8/18 started off with NWS promoter Joe Panzarino welcoming the new WSU Womens Champion, Alexa Thatcher. Alexa talked about winning the championship, a championship that she won in the middle of the ring, fair & square. Alicia came out, wanting her rematch right there and then. However, the match wasn't scheduled for later on in the show, and Mr. Panzarino informed Alicia the match would take place after several mens bouts. Alexa welcomed Alicia's challenge and said she'd do what no one else was able to do in WSU- defeat Alicia twice. As Alexa went to leave the ring, Alicia cowardly attacked Alexa Thatcher from behind. Alicia pounded Alexa Thatcher, then lifted her up and gave her a wicked michinoku driver. The malicious attack with the intent to harm left Alexa lifeless. Alicia was escorted to the back by security. Several minutes later, security helped Alexa to the locker room, where she received immediate medical intention. Doctors ruled that Alexa would physically be able to compete in a week, but advised her to take the night off. Due to her WSU Title Match contract signed between Alicia & Alexa if Alexa did not defend the championship she would be stripped of the belt. Being a fighting champion and putting her pride & determination before her health & well-being, Alexa refused to forfeit and would compete later on in the show. When it came down to making her first title defense as champion, Alexa gingerly walked through the curtain, holding her head, as she was still feeling the effects of the brash attack from earlier on. With Alexa not 100%, Alicia took advantage of the situation and at the 8 minute mark, Alicia was able to defeat Alexa via pinfall after a huge and brutal running Yakuza kick in the corner. As a result of the win, Alicia regained back "her" title (Her words) and became the first ever 2-Time WSU Womens Champion. After the match, Alexa Thatcher received more medical attention and while early cat-scans turned up negative, it was advised Alexa take some time off. However, Alexa won't miss a beat and will continue to wrestle. Alexa told WSU reporters that she will not be invoking her rematch clause until she's 100% as she knows it will take herself 100% to defeat Alicia. Alexa made that point clear, when she said, "I've beaten Alicia for the title once when I was 100% and I will do it again." Alicia told WSU reporters that, "I don't care who I have to wrestle. Alexa's title win was just a fluke, simple as that. It's not my fault that she was stupid enough to turn her back to me. All I know is that I have back my belt and let's be honest, the belt looks alot better around me than on her." Alicia's next WSU scheduled title defense is on 9/7 for the Pro Wrestling Syndicate promotion. Alicia will be taking on Talia, as Talia challenges Alicia for the championship for the first time ever. WSU's next mega-event is on 9/22. If Alicia should retain the championship, she will defend the belt in a NO-DQ match against Becky Bayless. However, if Alicia loses the championship, Alicia vs Becky will still happen, while Talia defends the championship against a qualified challenger.
