Official WSU 3/3 Results & News Update

WSU debuted their womens division this past Saturday on 3/3 in Lodi, NJ. In front of 80+ fans, plus a slew of luminaries including WWE's Greg "The Hurricane" Helms, the following took place, with Cadence Caldwell ring announcing, Foxxy Foxxy & Missy Sampson reffing and Sean Hanson & Missy Hyatte doing DVD commentary:

Amber defeated Mia Love in the opening match

In the WSU Debut of "Missy's Manor", The First Lady of Professional Wrestling, Missy Hyatt greeted the WSU fans. The first guest on Missy's Manor was "The Queen of Scream" Daffney. Missy, who was looking for all the dirt & gossip in WSU, asked Daffney about her main event match with Talia. Daffney talked about not wanting to live off her name value and wanted to prove that women could wrestle too.

Before Daffney could really get on a roll, Talia interrupted. After the two fiery women got into a heated battle of words, Talia through the microphone right at Daffney's chest. Daffney went to seek revenge, but Talia bailed out of the ring, perhaps only riling up Daffney for later on in the show.

The Soul Sisters (Jana & Luscious Latasha) defeated Kylie Pierce & Cha Cha in a match that saw the jive Soul Sisters get the crowd on their feet and dancing.

Barbie defeated Melissa Stripes in a very competitive match, that saw Barbie hit her "Face-Lift" finisher after Stripes missed her high risk 450 splash.

Alicia defeated the returning Becky Bayless, in a match that saw Becky Bayless bust Alicia's mouth wide open. Once Alicia saw her own blood, Alicia freaked out and tapped Becky out with a chokehold. Referees Foxxy Foxxy & Missy Sampson had to break the hold.
After the match, Alicia flipped out on the microphone and took shots at Becky's personal & professional career. It looks like this is only the beginning for these two.

In A Battle of the Diva Killaz, Miss Deville defeated Kayla Sparks
This match pitted one of indy's hottest female tag teams against each other, as both wanted to showcase their abilities in front of a new crowd. Miss Deville was better this night, winning with a swanton bomb. However, it looked like either girl could've won this match.

After the match, an enraged and pissed off "PrymeTyme" Amy Lee came out. Amy Lee went bezerk, and destroyed Deville & Sparks. While Deville & Sparks were tired after a grueling match, it didn't look like that even if they were 100% they'd be able to stop the ferocious rampage Amy Lee went on.

In the most emotional & fiery segment of the night, Lee cut a promo that would make a trucker, a sailor & Andrew Dice Clay blush. Amy used alot of profanity and said she was pissed because she's been in the business for over 15 years, while girls with no pubic hair are taking her spot. Lee took out all her frustrations out on Deville & Sparks, but...

Alere Little Feather came out to take on Lee. Lee & Alere brawled all over. Alere was able to get Lee down with help from the Diva Killaz. Alere bested Lee and it looks like these two will go at it at the next event. This is a segment that you will want to see on DVD as this is MUST SEE DVD.

In The Main Event, Talia defeated Daffney
This was a great 12 minute plus battle, with both girls showing that they are more than Tits & Ass. Fighting off german suplexes, submission holds and everything else Daffney threw at her, Talia was able to use some nefarious tactics to defeat Daffney. However, after the match, Talia tried rubbing Daffney's face in, and Daffney was able to grab Talia and ride her around the ring, cowgirl style!

WSU Backstage Notes:
WSU officials were happy with the way the show went, and were proud of every girl in the locker room. Every match had intensity as the girls went all out to prove their superiority.

Missy Hyatt conducted several backstage promos for the DVD release where she seemed to gossiping & egging on several feuds.

Over 30 minutes of exclusive backstage promos were shot for the DVD release of this event. Sean Hanson & Missy Hyatt also handled the commentating duties.

Despite getting bloodied up in her match with Becky Bayless, Alicia is 100%, but not too thrilled with Becky at the moment.

Amy Lee destroyed the lockerroom after the show, in another fit of rage. Will anyone be able to control or tame Amy Lee? Not too many girls are jealous of Alere Little Feather right now.

Building representatives loved the show and even have a poster that WSU was selling with every girl's autograph on it. WSU has announced a 5/5 return date, with a 4PM bell time. Like on 3/3, WSU will be teaming up with NWA Pro East for fans looking to catch two shows in one day.

This DVD will be released through DOIWrestling.com in the next several days.

Also, don't take our word for it, here's a fan review of the show:

We packed up the Durango and left Long Island for a Double Shot Saturday in New Jersey. First stop, Lodi for the WSU Women’s event.

Lots of names in the attendance of 75. Gregory Helms, Bison Bravado, Havok, Kevin Matthews, Danny Damento (No shit), Ken Scampi, & Damian Dragon, as well as The Mic & Johnny 5. Missy Hyatt & Sean Hanson looked to be doing DVD commentary as well. Cadence Caldwell is your ring announcer and Foxy Foxxy & Missy Sampson are your referees.

First Match: Mia Love vs. Amber
This match set a tone to me that the wrestling on the card was to be taken seriously. It was refreshing to start out like this, 2 wrestlers who I do not know other than reading a result or 2 with their names on it, as opposed to bigger names which would have caused a match like this to appear weaker if it followed other matches on the card. Amber was able to claim the pinfall victory.
Winner – Amber

Cadence introduces Missy Hyatt who brings out Daffney for an interview. Daffney says this show isn’t about tits and ass but was interrupted by Talia Madison who breaks up the happy party and disrespects Daffney and there is our main event for tonight.

Second Match: Cha Cha & Kylie Pierce vs. Soul Sisters (Luscious Latasha & Jana)
Another match where I have never seen any participant. This match was dominated by Cha Cha & Kylie who took Luscious out early and continued to beat her down. When she finally tagged in her partner they got the upper hand and won with a double-team clothesline from the top.
Winners – The Soul Sisters

Soul Sisters celebrated by dancing a little after the match with Missy Sampson but she bailed out on that idea quick.

Third Match: Melissa Stripes vs. Barbie
Melissa is a great wrestler and for a while was the new “it” girl in indy wrestling but for some reason she seems vanilla to me right now. She needs an edge to her, a back story, a fake story, something to give her a little character because her wrestling skills are certainly up there with all of the best.

Barbie was wearing a race girl outfit which was hot and she hung in there with Melissa for a while. In one of the only real high spots of the night Melissa ascended for the 450 but missed thus allowing Barbie to get the pin.
Winner – Barbie

Fourth Match: Alicia vs. Becky Bayless
Alicia is looking good with sexier ring attire from the last time I saw her. This is the first time I am seeing Becky live and she looks different from all the pictures or DVDs I have seen with her, smaller.

It might be because I only seen Alicia in NYWC and VPW but she seems to have more confidence now and she talks throughout her match which I love. It is entertaining and funny as well.

For someone who I never thought of as a wrestler Becky really impressed me with her skill. There was not one major mess-up the entire match and this one was no exception.

The ending saw Becky mess-up Alicia’s mouth via the mat causing her to bleed and a very awkward pause in the match with Missy Sampson coming over to check on her and Becky retreating in the corner. After a minute Becky turned her back and Alicia knocked her hard into the corner and made her submit seconds later.
Winner – Alicia

After the match Alicia got on the mic cursing and talking about how many times she has got hit in the face (and I have seen several) and that every one in the room has hit her in the face at one time. She continued to bash Becky as she left the ring area.

INTERMISSION

With no specific WSU concessions available DOI stepped up huge and made a 10” x 12” glossy color poster of the event and Johnny 5 had EVERYONE on the card sign it. Such a unique and brilliant idea and it came out awesome. There may be one or two left so contact Johnny 5 if you want one, and you should.

I also met Daffney and now she knows my name. C’mon I can mark out from time to time can’t I? I also talked to Foxy Foxxy throughout the show and she is very nice and down to earth. Hard to believe anyone can dislike her or despise her.

Fifth Match: Miss Deville vs. Kayla Sparks
If there was a bad match on the card it was this one. For me I have seen pictures of these 2 and read results and reviews and was eagerly anticipating this match. Technically it was decent but it was missing chemistry. Maybe they are better as a tag team and never worked together before, but I still hold out that the 2 are much better than they did tonight. Almost seemed like they were nervous.

With Mr. Helms in the house we did see our first and only shining wizard by Kayla and Miss Deville hit a nice Swanton for the pin.
Winner – Miss Deville

After the match Amy Lee came out and destroyed Kayla, Deville, and even Foxxy. She grabbed the mic and cut the toughest, swear filled promo I have ever heard in my life. Alere Little Feather came out and with the help of the 2 other girls beat down Amy. Not to be outdone Amy destroyed Miss Deville on the way backstage with a garbage can. Went a little long but I didn’t think that or care at the time, rather I just thought about it now.

Sixth Match: Talia vs. Daffney
Daffney is my long time love from WCW. She is just fun and may be a reason I am one of the 2 David Flair fans in the world (Me & Ric, Page doesn’t like him). Talia was great in this match and the reason why she is good and popular is not only cause of her looks. She has talent and ring presence. She also has a gimmick and a story around her. She is cocky (is there a better female like word to use?), and arrogant, and gives you a reason to hate her.

Daffney screamed at Talia a lot early causing Talia to lose her hearing and make her way around ringside sitting in different seats trying to figure out what number Missy Sampson was up to so she could her back in the ring on time. But Daffney would scream again and Talia bailed out. This happened a few times before they locked up.

Talia used the 5 count to her advantage early on choking and beating on Daffney. She also hit a combination move ending with a lung blower and scored the win but not before lighting Daffney up with hard chops turning her chest as red and purple as Chris Benoit use to do to Eddie Guerrero.
Winner – Talia

Daffney upset about losing went to shake Talia’s already extended hand but Talia pulled hers away. Daffney attacked her from behind and started spanking her and riding her around the ring.

Final Thoughts: This was NOT a family show. Talk of tits, F bombs, Amy Lee even calling Kayla & Miss Deville hairless C’s (even I do not use that word). A little uncomfortable with several kids ringside but I popped.

It was actually more enjoyable than Shimmer, that failed PW Elite thing, or Indy Gurlz. Women’s wrestling can work but when mixed with a men’s event (with the exception of the 6-Woman at JSW tonight which tore down the house & select ROH matches) it does not work for the crowd.
In an all women environment though it can and did work. And it didn’t even need Mercedes Martinez, Cindy Rogers, Traci Brooks’ rack, April Hunter’s ass, or any other well established superstar.
Mercedes in this event would have rocked though. Hope she gets better in time for the next show if there is one (if not I am promoting it!). = Crazy Larry
