Funny thing about the first match, was that the microphone didn’t work. El Shoes did a great job screaming and making sure everyone heard what was going on. It seemed more real and more passionate in some way, and got the crowd more into it.
Johnny TNT/Kevin Quinn/Greg Spitz vs. J-Kronik/Dirty Sanchez/New Blood went to a no contest as Prince Nana thankfully ran out and beat the shit out of all 6 guys.
Man this match was brutal. And not in a Homicide vs Jay Lethal way, more like a Bastion Booger vs Brooklyn Brawler way. This match was all over the place, and I have heard so many good things about Greg Spitz, but tonight wasn’t really a match to see how good he really is. This match basically was too long and did nothing for me, and nothing for a lot of people, as the crowd wasn’t feeling it too much either. Around the 12 minute mark, Prince Nana came out, and whooped everyone’s ass, signaling the no-contest call.
After clearing the ring, Prince Nana took the mic and talked to BOONTON, NEW JERSEY! Pretty much, Nana calls out Reil for their First Round ABC Title match. Billy Reil then came out, with a cigarette in hand, which he gave the bust to ABC Promoter, Jimmy Hustler. Classy.
Prince Nana d. Billy Reil
I had to take a quick leak, but DOI Wackpacker, Dexter Weiner told me I missed a good face lock from Nana, as that was what started off the match. Match had a lot of intensity to start off, but as the match got longer, it slowed down a bit. Nana advances in the tourney after a DDT.
Jimmy Hustler, in suit and tie, comes out. He tells everyone he is the promoter, and thanks everyone for coming to ABC. That, I don’t mind. Then Hustler goes off to a rant insulting some of the crowd. Out come All Money Is Legal (AMIL), Kash and Kaos. Kash and Kaos want some respect and a match. Hustler gives them the clichéd “For every problem there is a Solution”, and out come The Solution. The only reason I say clichéd, is because John Shane did the same exact thing 2 months earlier. Not that I’m saying Hustler is biting off Shane, all I’m saying is that I understand the Solution solve problems, even if they solve them with candy canes. This sets up Solution w/Hustler vs AMIL. Why Jimmy Hustler had to throw himself on the show, in a “worker” capacity, I don’t know, as the show had enough talent on it, that he wasn’t needed to be a manager. Plus Shane is better with The Solution anyway.
The Solution (Papadon/Havok) w/Jimmy Hustler d. All Money Is Legal (Kash and Kaos)
Great match. I’ve seen this match a few times already in WXW, and it never disappoints. The great thing is that everytime I see this match between these 4 guys, I always see something new, as was the case tonight. While Kaos was in the tree of woe, Havok hit the fall away slam on Kash into Kaos. Crowd popped huge for that. Hustler was in and out of this match, and didn’t add anything to it. Even though the Solution are double the size of AMIL, you’d never notice, by how hard all 4 wrestlers go at it. I forget which one, but I think it was Kaos, hit a fucking sweet move. He did a reverse swanton from the top rope, as Havok was sitting in the corner, and landed feet first on Havoks balls. Crowd liked that one too. After some more wrestling, Solution hit the problem solver on Kash to get the win. I swear it must’ve been the first time I saw Havok sit down, as Papadon hits the neckbreaker from the top rope, during the problem solver. The DeX agreed, but others say otherwise, so if you watch PapaJohn and Aardvark go for the Problem Solver, let me know if Havok sits down when the move goes off lol. Um.. Hustler didn’t do anything after the match, so I don’t understand his involvement in the match.
In a First Round ABC Title Tourney Match
“Hurricane” John Walters d. Josh Daniels
PAW match, and the best match of the show in my opinion. Fantastic wrestling in this one, mixed in with some submissions. Josh Daniels is easily the darkhorse of any fucking show, as he can step up to anyone’s level, and bring people up to his level. There’s a reason why Walters has wrestled for WWE, ROH and ECWA in his short career, and it’s because he is a great technical wrestler, and he definitely showcased his skills tonight. Josh Daniels was the replacement for Simon Diamond, and not one person complained. Walters got the win out of seemingly no where, as it happened so fast, after a roll-up. That’s a cool way to win, as the match went back and forth the whole time, so it seemed more “upsetting” that he won it that way. Crowd showed both wrestlers respect after a great match.
Alexis Laree d. Simply Luscious
PREMATCH: El Shoes, the ring announcer, and Simply Luscious, both give respect and congratulations to Alexis, as Alexis is going to the WWE soon. Luscious then attacks Alexis from behind, to become the bad gal of the match, and we’re off.
Speaking of Alexis going to the WWE, it’s funny that one of the last matches that I will see her in the indies, was in friggen Boonton lol. Fortunately for me, this was one of her better matches as well, and easily one of the top 3 matches on the show. Watching Alexis vs Luscious wasn’t like watching “womens” wrestling, but it was like watching pure wrestling with ferocity. I know men don’t like to hear that a womens match was better then theirs, but it was the case tonight, as this was easily better than half the matches tonight. Alexis picks up the win, after rolling up Luscious real fast, as the ref was mad that Luscious pushed him, and counted maybe a bit quickly. Great match, great finish, great ABC send off to Alexis.
INTERMISSION.
I finally got to meet Robert Payes, from the Stiff Shots photo team. I talked to him briefly, but after watching Alexis’s match, he had to go change his leather pants in a hurry, as he is the biggest Alexis Laree fan in the world. Nah that didn’t really happen, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it did lol. Since Alere told people to buy me beer, I will like to tell everyone to buy Alere Little Feather beer, as she can pound them down. She was watching the show as a fan too, and likes to watch shows The MiC way, with plenty of hops and barley. Native Americans and the Irish like to drink! Oh no, I’m being stereotypical! Call the PTC. I also gotta shout out some of the luminaries in the crowd, which were: The King of the Death Match- Low Life Louie, The King of Chinese Buffet, Johnny Bravado, and The King of the Dirty Apt- The Motivator. More shoutouts later, as I’m only in intermission.
First Round ABC Title Tourney match
Vince Vicallo d. Joey Matthews w/Becky Bayless by DQ
My favorite thing about this match, is that on the ABC website, Becky Bayless was supposed to be with Vince Vicallo. I wonder if something happened there? Anyhoo, this was a pretty decent match, that had Becky distract the ref from time to time. Vicallo is declared the winner by DQ, as Joey Matthews snaps and beats the hell out of Vicallo with a steel chair. Eh finish for a title tourney match, but good way to keep both guys strong.
To Crown the first ever ABC Boro Champion
For the ABC Boro Title
Rob Eckos d. Damian Adams, Abunai and Damian Dragon w/Foxxy Dreams (who had a fantastic entrance)
Good match here, I really enjoyed this one. After what seemed to be the Wrestlemania 14 ring entrance by the Undertaker by Damian Dragon (not to say Dragon was doing that) I thought Dragon was going to win for sure. Eckos pinned his buddy in the match, Damian Adams, quickly, and Adams wasn’t too thrilled. Abunai is out next, and we’re down to Dragon vs Eckos. Eckos gets the win, and the title, after hitting Dragon with the belt, as the ref was out. Again, blah finish to what should be a respected title. Now, this title has been introduced to wrestling fans with a blemish, as it took a belt shot to win it. Clean finishes make titles look more respectable and prestigious. If anything, a Dragon vs Eckos match should come out of this, so I think a Dragon win can erase the way the title was handled tonight. Either way, it’s good to see the SSCW World Champ add a new belt to his collection. (Like how I worked SSCW in there.)
First Round ABC Title Tourney Match
Reefer d. Danny Demanto
Someone didn’t belong in this match. I thought this was one of Demantos stronger matches, but at times looked like he couldn’t keep up with Reefer, as Reefer was hitting big move after big move, and chain wrestled a bit. Reefer hit a nice frogsplash from the apron to the floor on Danny. Markout Moment of the Night was when I shit you not, about 50 people all chanting “Josh Deely” at Demanto. The best thing was, out of that 50 chanting, maybe 6 people knew who Josh Deely is. Demanto took the chants in stride and used the crowd reaction as a positive in his match, and it made look Reefer look stronger. Reefer gets the win after the headscissors turned into a crossface for the submission victory. People know about Demantos involvement in ABC, so it was a good thing, and professional thing to see Reefer get the win cleanly. Kudos to the ABC staff.
The SAT (Joel and Jose Maximo) d. The Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz (KC Blade and EC Negro) and Notorious Inc (Drew Blood/Devan Moore) w/Tara Charisma
Let’s not shit anyone here, but one team should’ve been subtracted to provide a better match of the SAT vs DRS straight up, as DRS/SAT have had fabulous matches in the past. With that said, Blood/Moore looked good here, and while they are not on the level of the DRS/SAT, they wrestled up to the DRS/SAT level here tonight, and did not look out of place at all in this match. The Scoundrelz are the best heels in wrestling, and tonight was no different. From getting the crowd involved, to facial expressions, to the wrestling, The DRS are without a shadow of a doubt the best heel tag team in wrestling. On the other hand, The SAT are no slouches either, and what the DRS do as heels, are what SAT do as faces, as there were lots of S!A!T! chants, mostly by Louie lol, tonight. But then again, the SAT never wrestled the Solution… Blood/Moore were heels also in this bout, they did a good job, as no one cheered them outside of SlingBlade Carl. Tara is hard to boo and scream at, but somehow the crowd overcame that, as she got some crowd reaction as well. Very well wrestled triple threat tag match by all 6 heads. The SAT pick up the pinfall in a great finish – The DRS lay out Notorious Inc, and as they are celebrating, Jose Maximo jumps in the ring and picks up the pinfall behind their backs. Very creative and a good way to end this fun and enjoyable match.
Homicide d. Justin Credible w/Simply Luscious
PREMATCH: Credible cuts a promo about “having to wrestle in a Singapore cane match for a shitty promoter.” Credible grabs the cane off the pole, even before the mach started. He gave the Singapore cane to Simply Luscious, and then Homicide made his way to the ring.
Short match here, not what I expected after seeing previous Credible/Homicide matches. It was getting late too, so maybe that’s why it wasn’t too long? After lots of cane shots, and some chain wrestling, Credible hit “That’s Incredible” on Homicide. Homicide barely got out of the pinfall, and Credible was upset as he thought it was over there. A few minutes later, and getting Simply Luscious out of the way, Homicide picked up the pinfall victory to win this exciting Singapore Cane match.
Final McWord
All in all, an enjoyable show, that had it’s down points and high points. Some of the finishes got annoying. The building is a great place for wrestling, however, the location isn’t a wrestling town, but outside of Bayonne and Queens, what is anymore? I thought it was a good debut show, and like anything that’s new, needs time to develop and work out kinks. I also gotta give props to Kevin Matthews for hooking me up with the SSCW tapes finally lol. Lots of no-shows from what advertised, but you can’t complain as everything was legit, from Arson having his neck injured to Simon Diamond being pulled way before and announced as so. I also heard that Mace from Christopher Street Connection was injured as well, so if this is true, I wish you a speedy recovery.
Now there was talk about an incident that happened after the show. I wasn’t gonna mention it, but since I woke up at 1 in the afternoon, and it’s 2 now, I see that it has been posted on the message boards. Since Funker tells the truth on this incident, with no bullshit, I will do the Copy and Paste action, from his post on the DOI message board:
Someone's going to post wanting to know about the altercation last night. They already did on the USA board. Before it gets exaggerated, here's what happened.
A friend of a wrestler on the show (who I wont mention) wanted to see the show for free. In return, the "friend" offered to help take the ring apart after the show.
When it came time to take care of the ring, the "friend" was outside hanging out with some of the talent. When Jimmy asked him to help out with the ring, the guy refused. Jimmy started complaining and the guy said fuck you. Words exchanged, and the friend was immediately suffering from califlower ears. (Jimmy threw him in a headlock). Everyone broke it up.
By the way. Before anyone accused me of taking sides or defending anyone, I think both of these guys were wrong. The friend became lazy and to me tried to impress some girls outside by talking smack to Hustler. But, Hustler should have just walked away and had the guy taken off the premises, then squeeze him like a lemon.
So that’s what happened, so if anything else gets written it’s false. While I don’t think it was in Jimmy Hustlers best interest to get into a fight after his own show, I can understand why he wanted to do it, but I gotta agree with Anthony on this one, that he shoulda “squeezed him like a lemon” somewhere else.
