TNA IMPACT RECAP JULY 2nd 2009

TNA IMPACT starts out with a video of Samoa Joe’s turn to the Main Event Mafia

“Double J Takes Control”

Main Event Mafia come to the ring (Kurt, Joe, Nash, Steiner, Booker T, Sharmell and Jasmie) Kurt says it’s not personal it was strictly business what he did to Sting. Kurt then moves on to Mick Foley and says a week has passed and it’s time.

Foley comes out and starts to talk when Kurt says save it, last week you crossed the boss, and goes on to say Foley was doing everything wrong. Steiner then takes out Foleys two security guards and then Kurt tells he has four options; he can either take on Joe, Steiner, Nash or Booker he then hits Kurt Angle which then the entire mafia start to take him out until Jeff Jarrett comes out to the ring and clears the ring to help Foley with the guitar. The Main Event Mafia scramble, as they walk up the ramp he hits Foley with the guitar and heads up the ramp walking past the Mafia looking at them with a cut on his head.

-Commercial-

When they come back they show what happen moments ago where Foley is backstage saying he doesn’t want help to a medic and walks off.

Mike Tenay and Don West talk about what has gone on but then is cut off by Foley backstage confronting Jarrett when security drags Foley out of his locker room.

Earlier Today; Kevin Nash is being interviewed by Tenay about the past and how he was making all kinds of money in WWF and then going to WCW in 1996 and how money wasn’t an issue back then and the boys use to call each other up after Summerslam asking how much they each got for the pay-per-view. He then talks about the legends belt and AJ Styles.

Backstage Abyss is with Lauren and is thrown around the entire backstage area screaming for Stevie. He then picks up Lauren and sets her down on the interview set and tells her that he cares for her and she means the world to him. He says but he is sick and has been everyday and keeps rubbing her hair saying its ok. He then says he never asked her to stop being women so don’t ask me to stop being a monster. He then says he will be back to get her when its all over and kisses her.

Cody Deamer w/ODB vs. Amazing Red

The match starts off with Cody missing punches left and right on Red and then Red hitting a few kicks back and fourth. Red hits a few deep arm drags followed by a head scissors sending Cody to the outside, Red then does a twisting dive off over the top rope when Cody’s head bounces off the concrete on the outside. Two count by Red in the ring, Red then keeps kicking Cody but Cody reverses with a hard clothesline. Two count on Red, Cody then gets a little advantage and keeps giving some right hands to Red on the outside. Cody then hits another two count on Red and keeps going after a pin fall and gets a one count, ODB is outside hitting her chest looking to telling Cody what to do, Red then reverses and hits a nice drop kick on Cody but doesn’t last long as he goes up top and gets knocked down. Cody goes up top wasting time adjusting his cap he put on, he goes for a diving head butt and gets nothing, Amazing Red then hits a DDT which is called “The Red Eye”. And then goes for the pin for the win.

Winner by pin fall: Amazing Red

Booker T Video is then shown hyping him with him saying, “I will become”

Abyss then gets in the face of security where they all have metal bats. One of the other older security guard comes in and gets in the face of Abyss.

-Commercial-

JB is backstage talking to Jeff Jarrett when all of a sudden Main Event Mafia come in and Kurt sits next to Jarrett and says he knows he has had his differences in the past and finally you got rid of that past with Mick Foley. He says the Main Event Mafia could rule TNA if he joins them, Jarrett gets up and says SCREW YOUR OFFER, there is no being together and asks him if he forgets history. He then goes on about how Kurt abused his authority Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe vs. Jarrett and Styles tonight and the world title will be on the line and if.

Lauren is backstage with about how at victory road she is telling Sharmell to bring it, all of a sudden Sojula Bolt buts in and says that Sharmell is her girl and that at Victory Road she will be ready to take her on.

-Commercial-

JB is backstage with Kurt Angle then talks about how the Mafia is the wrong people to mess with tonight, Booker then starts yelling at Sharmell about something.

Eric Young vs. Rhino w/ Jesse Neil

Eric goes right to work on Rhino but then is reversed into the corner and gets a few punches followed up by two shoulder tackles, which lead to a two count. Eric Young then gets a little advantage and a two count. Eric then works on Rhino in the corner and then puts him in a headlock in the middle of the ring. Eric then gets another two count on Rhino, Eric Young then jumps out of the ring and knocks down Jesse on the outside. Eric jumps back in and keeps working on Rhino, until it starts to make Rhino mad and he starts going crazy on Eric Young, Jesse then jumps on the apron right as Rhino went for the win. As the ref is distracted, Eric Young rolls up Rhino and puts his feet on the rope and cheats for the win.

Winner by pin fall: Eric Young

Backstage Sharmell walks up to Matt Morgan and tells him that Kurt Angle wants to see him; he is on his cell phone asking how a 24-hour gym closes at 9pm, when Sharmell then interrupts and says KURT WANTS TO SEE YOU NOW. Morgan then gets off his phone and starts jumping up and down like crazy saying when he woke up this morning he knew it was going to be a great day, he then grabs Sharmell and drags her off.

-Commercial-

JB is backstage talking to Kurt Angle, asking him if he really was going to let him in the Mafia. Morgan then goes on a spill about money, Kurt then says the Mafia are still under consideration but there’s still a few things left. Tonight he has a match and needs to cover each base. He wants Morgan to make sure Daniels does not come down to that ring, Morgan then tells Kurt he better make that decision now.

Awesome Kong / Tara vs. Angelina Love / Velvet Sky

Velvet goes right to work on Tara but right away Tara puts his Velvet in a submission move, after a few seconds Tara brings Velvet up and goes for a few arm drags. Tara then tags in Kong and she picks up Sky and throws her across to Angelina. She tags herself in but gets in the ring and Kong throws her around the ring as well. Kong then tags in Tara, and goes right to work on Sky. After a few seconds Velvet Sky gets some punches in and starts to work on Tara, Sky then tags in Love in and both girls hit a double clothes. Tara then tags in Kong and she takes apart Velvet Sky. She throws her in the corner but before doing anything Angelina comes in and distracts her but is welcomed by a hard clothesline. Kong then hits the Impact Buster on Velvet Sky followed up by a three count for the win, after the match Tara puts her Tarantula on Velvet Sky.

Winner by pin fall: Awesome Kong/Tara

-Commercial-

Backstage Lauren is with Angelina Love and she’s going crazy about Tara’s Tarantula and how she’s going to faint, Lauren then plays around asking Love what’s on her shoulder and she runs off screaming.

Beer Money Inc comes out the announcer’s tables to watch the next match.

Booker T/Scott Steiner vs. Team 3D

Scott and Brother start the match off and Brother Ray goes to work right off the bat on Steiner. He gets a few sidewalk slams on Steiner followed up by a two count. Ray tags in D-Von but Steiner gets the advantage on D-Von and takes control of the match until he tags in Booker T, Booker then does the Ax kick on D-Von and picks him up sends him off in to the ropes. D-Von then ducks the clothesline and hits one on Booker. All of a sudden Beer Money INC are dragged backstage by Bashir and Kiyoshi. In the ring Team 3D hits the 3D on Booker but Sharmell gets on the apron and distracts Rudy, that’s when Steiner sneaks in behind them but they turn around and grab Steiner and hits the “What’s up” on Steiner. Brother Ray tells D-Von to GET THE TABLES. As they try to get the table in the ring Brutus Magnus comes running down and takes out D-Von and then jumps in the ring and knocks out Brother Ray causing Steiner to get the pin on Brother Ray

Jeffro Holiday vs. Jay Lethal

Lethal is then shown getting beat up with creed by Abyss, Abyss then walks out to the ring and gets in and starts beating up Holiday. He his the black hole slam, Abyss then grabs a microphone and says Dr. Stevie I don’t need you anymore. No more therapy sessions and no more calling in daily and no more shock treatment. Expect for you because when he gets on him he is going to snap him across his shoulders like a twig. Dr. Stevie comes on the screen and he has Lauren. Lauren is being held by Stevie and says do you know Abyss what I can do to her? He then says he wouldn’t do anything cause he’s not a monster like you are. He then says he did think about it though. Abyss is in the ring going crazy; he then says you turned on me for this worthless piece of meat. Stevie says next week he will come to therapy, and if he doesn’t he will do something to Lauren.

-Commercial-

JB is in the ring and announces each team with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. And announces if AJ Styles or Jeff Jarrett gets the pin fall they will be the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Jarrett/AJ Styles

Kurt Angle and Jarrett lock up in the middle of the ring and Jarrett hits a shoulder tackle on Kurt and then goes right away for the stroke. Kurt reverses and goes for a roll up but Jarrett gets out right away. Angle goes to work on Jarrett with a few uppercuts. He then hits Angle with a hard clothesline and then tags in AJ, AJ gets in but gets hit by Angle and that’s when Angle tags in Joe right away and hits a hard leg sweep on Styles. Styles then gets up and hits a drop kick on Joe and AJ tags in Jarrett which leads to a double team on Joe.

-Commercial-

Kurt Angle is in the ring with AJ Styles, during the break both Joe and Angle worked on AJ. AJ tries to fight back and hits a hard kick to the head on Angle, both men are down when Kurt gets the tag first and Joe then gets in and keeps AJ from tagging in Jarrett. AJ tries to go for the inverted DDT but Angle jumps in and AJ grabs him and hits a double DDT on the two. Jarrett is climbing up to the apron when Joe puts AJ in a submission but he gets right out and hits the paylay on Joe then tags in Jarrett. Jarrett then goes to work on Angle whom was tagged in. Jarrett goes for the pin but Joe jumps in and breaks it up. Jarrett reverses the angle slam and gets another two count when Joe jumps in again but moves and elbows Angle on accident. AJ then jumps in on Joe but it also knocks down the ref. Jarrett then hits the stroke on Angle from the top rope but there is no ref to count the pin. Jarrett jumps to the outside and grabs the guitar, before long the ref is back up and goes to grab the guitar, while this is happening Angle knocks Jarrett down and puts him in the ankle lock. AJ tries to tag himself in but Joe pulls AJ off the apron. Angle then puts Jarrett in a backwards figure four leg lock. Jarrett doesn’t give though and passes out from the pain. The ref raises his hand three times and then the match is over. After the match the Mafia comes down to the ring and celebrates with Angle and Joe in the ring. Joe then picks up Jarrett and all of sudden AJ jumps in the ring and tried to hit them with the Legends belt and clears the ring, Joe then jumps in and that’s when the main event mafia go work on Jarrett and AJ resorting into a five on two ball game. Matt Morgan is then shown beating down Daniels backstage, in the ring Nash grabs the legends belt and goes to hit him until the lights turn off and Sting is then in the ring with the base ball bat. He then takes out the Main Event Mafia for what they did to him last week. He clears the ring as he grabs the world heavyweight title and the lights go back out, as they come back on Sting has taken the belt and left as Impact comes to an end.
