Shootin' with The Snapshot
Recently I attended a spot show for the IWF near my house. Kevin Knight has done a great job with his school and students. The moment I arrived or anyone else did they were greeted by all his students that were there. I really like when everyone comes and introduces themselves to me or anyone else. It shows respect. Everyone works as a team there and no one has an ego. Everyone was either helping put the ring together or helping the sound guy get his equipment in to be set up. They did a quick warm-up session in the ring. It sort of reminded me of the Japanese and how they do things. The young boys paying there dues and doing what it takes to either make it or just get the job done. The show itself was a decent show. It showcased a lot of the IWF students. All worked hard. Chris Candido and Roman had a very entertaining match and the show was headlined by the Honky Tonk Man.
A couple of Kevin's students that I like are:
Vik Vorhees --- he is a big guy and that has potential and will be good someday. He reminds me of a young King Kong Bundy.
Shawn Donavan -- he has a lot of potential as well and has improved his body recently
Fred Sampson -- he has star potential written all over him
The leaders in IWF are Biggie Biggs, Roman, Kevin Knight and Damian Adams.
The IWF had turned out some great talent in Rob Eckos, Josh Daniels, Damian Adams, and had has good talent in Roman and Fred Sampson. Some have even done some work for WWE. That is a great honor in itself. IWF runs a family style show that is very clean and sanitary. They do there own merchandise that is in house only and no outside vendors. Damm them -- lol. After the show I went to dinner with Honky and Kahuna who was doing the sound and we met Chris and Tammy who was almost done with there dinner at the local diner.
I took last weekend off as it was one of those weekends I promised to my girlfriend. We did a Hershey park getaway weekend. I will not bore you with the details but if you like amusement parks Hershey is pretty good. They have a new rollercoaster called storm runner. That is an intense roller coaster. I have been hyping to my girlfriend that I wanted to take her to waffle house. I do a lot of driving and when I pass one I generally like to stop there as its my favorite place to eat breakfast. On our way up we stopped at one. My girl was sort of shocked at the place. The problem was I sort of spoiled her by taking her to cracker barrel. That is a big place that has a country store in it to shop and all. Anyone that knows waffle house knows its a small place that looks like a dump but has great food. My girlfriend started making fun of this place. Every wrestler that has every traveled late night or gone in the South where waffle house is big knows that this place is almost like sanctuary. Good food -- the best waffles and open 24 hours a day. Of course I get upset at this because she had different expectations. How many restaurants do you know of that once you walk in everyone working there stops and says hello to you. In the Northeast your lucky if the young hot snooty host of a place even looks at you. After she got done goofing on them she ate a waffle and pretty much enjoyed it
On Sunday on our way home we ended up in Lancaster which is Amish country. That was a treat in itself. The Amish do not work on Sunday so most of the places were closed. But you just have to love Lancaster County which has towns called:
Intercourse
Virginville
Fertility
Bird in Hand
Blue Ball
all this in Amish country. We saw the horse and buggy thing and drove by some farms and watched the Amish kids play volley ball. If you want a real education on a different lifestyle take a trip here as its very educational.
This past weekend NWS ran a show in Manville, NJ. They had a good show which featured a lot of young and up and comers. The show was headlined by Tito Santana & Danny Doring on opposite sides of a tag team match. They ran some angles to set up future shows. Some of there upcoming shows feature Dusty Rhodes, Luna & Gangrel, Honky Tonk Man & Tito Santana.
Next weekend features the Legends of the Ring wrestling convention. I think this a huge convention. It features Bob Backlund, Harley Race, Nick Bockwinkle 3 world champions from the era of the territories all in one place which I think is big. They also have the Wild Samoans, Lou Albano, Dominic Denucci and the star attraction in Bruno Sammartino which is a rare appearance. All this is taking place August 28 at the Palmer Inn in West Windsor / Princetion, NJ on Route 1 starting at 10 am. I will also be there vending. This a rare appearance for me as I do not generally vend at conventions anymore. I usually attend them but do not vend unless I am bringing in talent. Bill Watts will not be in attendance due to set of circumstances that could of been rectified if all involved used some diplomacy. Remember you get a bee with honey and not vinegar
Seems like the masked maniac is a fan of F MARRY KILL. Look for me to be on the Maniac hotline sometime soon to do a whole F MARRY KILL run down. The only time you will see me personally do the F MARRY KILL or any variation of it is in my columns and not on the message board as I have seen some fake posts recently with my name involved. Just to let anyone that may be offended its not me. I however enjoy reading it.
