I’m back again for everyone’s reading pleasure. This time joining the ranks of Billy Reil and Dana Dameson with a guest column granted to me by The Mic. For those of you who didn’t know every Tuesday I was a co-host on Trash Talking Radio. Those who were listening to the show last night heard me quit for the second and final time. I’m going to use my first column to explain why.

When I started doing the show I had always been told that I would never be censored. I was told that I could talk about whatever I wanted. When I first started doing the show I helped get some of the guests that had appeared on the show. Mike Trash had asked me to get Trent Acid on the show. I got him to agree to do the show and it was scheduled. It was scheduled the week after the fire marshal had been called to a ROH show allegedly by another Philadelphia promoter. The alleged promoter was also scheduled to be on the show. Mike Trash got fearful that Trent would say things regarding the other promoter on the show. I got a phone call the night before the show from both Mike Trash and co-host Doc Daniels regarding this concern. Pulling Trent from the show was suggested to me. This angered me and finally Trash asked that I call Trent and ask him just not to say anything. I had gone out on a limb by asking Trent as a favor to do the show and I was now being asked to call and censor him. I was put between a rock and a hard place. I called Trent and voiced their concerns and he easily agreed not to say anything offensive. I then called Mike back and told him that Trent had agreed not to bring up the situation. I also told him that I was angry about the position I had been put in and that to ensure I would never be placed there again, I would no longer get guests for the show. He was sorry to hear that but understood.

Things were ok there for a while. However I eventually stopped having fun doing the show and it felt more like a job I wasn’t being paid for. I decided to quit and called Mike to tell him. He begged me to reconsider but I had made up my mind. I did my last show and that was that. After the show I got numerous phone calls and emails asking me to return. I eventually reconsidered and decided to go back.

Prior to quitting I was responsible for doing the “Glory Girl” report. (A report on a female wrestler who has been featured on Glorywrestling) While I would be doing the report Mike would constantly interrupt me and do half of the report himself. When I went back I never picked back up doing that report. Three weeks ago as a joke I started giving away the Tripod of the Week report. (Tripod report was me talking about who’s got the biggest bulge in wrestling for the week. Think of a tripod and think of a certain body part on a male. Similar to Jerry Lawler screaming for Puppies, I did the Tripod from a female’s point of view, for female wrestling fans, which there are surprisingly a lot of.) It was meant for a laugh. I was amused and so were others I talked to.

Also lately even calling in had become a problem. I’d ask when to call in and could never get a straight answer. The show was never well planned or thought out.

Last night when I im’d Mike to find out what time to call in he suggested 9:45. Well with the pain medicine I’m on for my hand I am extremely dopey by then if not asleep. I asked if I could call in earlier and he said he didn’t know how long Alex Shelley would take which is when I suggested he plan the show out better. He said he did but it was hard to do since you don’t know when you’re going to have a bad interview. He then threw a name out as an example which just happened to be an interview I had arranged. I told him I was unaware of an issue with that interview. He then threw out that the person we were discussing had made some negative comments about him on Powerbomb Radio. He also threw out that this person seemed distracted and not into the interview. Of course none of this had been brought up to me before now.

I decided not to argue and get just told Mike to call me. He then told me I couldn’t do the Tripod of the Week. I asked why and he answered that it had nothing to do with wrestling. To which I responded neither did his music band that he plugs endlessly on the show. His answer to that was it was his band and the show was called Trash Talking Radio thus making it pertinent. I again stated it still had nothing to do with wrestling but at least my Tripod of the Week named a wrestler. He couldn’t give me a reason other then pretty much he said so. Now I found this to be quite astounding and slightly hypocritical as Mike has made it a weekly event to ask me what color and kind of underwear I was wearing or when the last time I ripped my pants wrestling. It was at this point that I decided I would quit when I called in which is what I did.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the listeners for their support. For the most part it was fun while it lasted. I would also like to thank occasional co-hosts Bryan Reigel and Rob Dimension. Last but certainly not least I would like to thank Doc Daniels. You were the reason I agreed to do the show in the first place and the main reason I came back to it. You truly are one of my greatest friends!

For those of you that just took some time out of your day to read this and are thinking to yourself, “Who cares?” or “Why did Lily write about this or post it on here?” My answer to you is, because I can.

Seriously I promise next weeks column will discuss a relevant wrestling topic. Until then take care, stay safe and support indy wrestling!

P.S. I want to dispel any rumor that DOI “stole” me which was brought up in the Trash Talking chat room last night. I have had an open invitation for months to write for DOI and it was me who contacted the Mic last night to finally take him up on the offer. Quitting Trash Talking was my sole decision.
