Well faithful DOI readers, I’ve returned to yet again entertain you or at the least give you a new topic for the DOI message board. I sat back since the end of last week trying to think of what it was I would make this column about this week. I’ve had numerous people ask if I would bring up the hot topic of the month, the Rob Feinstein incident. I fully intended not to, I mean what could I possibly say that hasn’t already been said.
I will however take this opportunity to voice my personal opinion regarding ROH. I have read the multiple posts on several sites from people claiming everyone should boycott upcoming ROH shows. I’ve read the press releases from Gabe Sapolsky and Doug Gentry along with some statements released from various ROH wrestlers. My personal opinion on this situation is that everyone needs to make up their own minds about what is right for them.
If Gabe and Doug can go on public record as saying that Rob won’t benefit from any of the ROH ventures, who am I or anyone to call them liars? If Low Ki has decided that he can no longer be a part of ROH and CM Punk, Danny Maff and Samoa Joe have decided to whole heartedly stand behind the company, then who am I or anyone else to pass judgment on them?
While I can completely understand people not wanting to put money into the pocket of a disgusting, filthy pedophile, I personally can take Gabe and Doug at their word that this will not be the case. I can’t think of anything that would cause me not to be able to take these gentleman at their words. I guess it’s just easier for some people to make others guilty by association. To those people I’d like you to take a look into your lives and your pasts and see if you’ve always been around perfect people? If you’ve never been a bad judge or character strictly because you couldn’t see what was really there until it was too late.
To the people who used to call themselves ROH fans and are now posting on message boards and things trying to convince others to boycott shows, how many more people need to pay for the sins of one man? Rob Feinstein may have helped fund ROH but he didn’t build ROH! ROH was built by every man or women who graced the ROH ring in any capacity. The individuals who gave it their all and worked their tails off to give the company the reputation it has. Rob Feinstein was not ROH and it sickens me that ROH now has to share his tarnished reputation. He deserves it, ROH does not.
Why should the Danny Maff’s, CM Punks, and Samoa Joe’s be forced to sacrifice something they have put so much work and pride into. If you believe very strongly that you should no longer support ROH then by all means that is your right. However if you had planned on attending the show but don’t know what to do or believe now, look into your heart. As far as I can tell the only people that will suffer are the innocent hard working people in the locker room.
Ok enough of my rantings on that subject. I know some people have been asking me when I was going to name the next “Tripod of the Week”. I sat down and thought about it and there will be no more “Tripod of the Week”. It was a lot easier to crack a joke about it on a radio show then it was to try and write it up in a column. As I started to try and write about it I got hit with a very bad case of hypocrisy. As a female in wrestling I am the first to hate and speak out when women in wrestling are degraded and only spoken about for their physical assets. While when I started the “TOTW” it was meant as a joke I suddenly found myself doing exactly what I had lambasted others for doing. Now before people start to speculate none of the previously awarded “Tripod of the Week” recipients have said anything to me about it. I would however like to thank DOI who would have allowed me to award it every week and have told me I can write or talk about whatever I want.
Now here is one set of rankings I feel obligated to include this week:
Top 5 People to jokingly give you crap the next time you see them for not including them in your last set of rankings on DOI
5) Low Ryda
4) Gene Snisky
3) Tommy Suede
2) Boogalou
1) Eddie Guapo
The fact of the matter is I personally think all 5 of the above listed individuals are under-rated, tremendously talented wrestlers. The reason they were left off my rankings last week is because it’s hard for me to watch the matches on shows I too am booked on. In the near future I will hopefully be posting interviews with all five of the above mentioned wrestlers.
Well I think that’s it for me for now. I’ll catch up with you all again soon.
Until then take care and be safe.
