Early Jac Sabboth Column & Feedback
After posting that long article on Sabboth yesterday, the DOI has gotten tons of great feedback. We've also gotten some feedback on people who've been screwed over by Sabboth, because as we said in the original column, there was just so much that you forget stuff after a while.
El Shoes told the DOI that Jac stiffed him $200 during UCW's first run.
A prominent member of the wrestling community pointed out that how during Jac's first UCW run, there were 3 T-Shirts made up. One was a UCW promotion shirt. The second shirt was a Jac FN Sabboth shirt. The third shirt was a Jac Sabboth's The Dynasty T-Shirt. This goes back to what we said originally that Jac needed to feel big and important for the children who visit in his store. I guess we have to give PWS that, at least there aren't any Eric Tapout shirts, just like how there aren't any Joe Panzarino shirts, Fat Frank shirts, etc. Auggie had to get two shirts for himself for a company that was existence for a little bit more than a year.
Also during this time, Jac was selling autographed 8x10s. I'm sure that shit flew off the shelves.
Dave Levy, formerly of NWA Cyberspace, told the DOI that Jac stiffed Cyberspace. Jac wanted to book EZ Money and confirmed the booking with Dave. Come the time of the show, Jac used EZ Money but never sent Cyberspace his half of the flight money as promised. Levy said Jac would stop answering and ignoring his calls.
Randy Darkfire aka Adolf from the old USA Pro days, sent this to the DOI:
I remember one show where Frank Goodman and a shitload of the guys in the back asked me to go to the queens center mall with a list of the money Jac owed to nearly everybody in the back. I showed up at the mall and confornted the stiffer with the list. He told me he didn't have the money to pay them, so I told him I wasn't leaving till he called Goodman in front of me to straighten this out. He called Goodman, and I don't recall what was said, but I do remember Jac never showed up at the building as promised. Balls Mahoney and Steve DeAngelis wanted to fucking kill him along with everyone else. Balls being pissed off more than anybody. And not to sound repetitive, the fat little stiffing cunt never showed up.
The other one I remember is when Sabu came up to me at one of his shows and asked me where "Frank's fat little friend was". I told Jac that Sabu was looking for him and he took off like a bat out of hell. Sabu was pissed off that night and decided to use Madonna's "Like a Virgin" as his entrance music and didn't really try to hard to impress the crowd.
On the Sabu story, I believe that was the same day that Jac went up to Sabu and said "Hey What's Up Terry, this is what you're doing tonight...." only to get a death stare and was told never to call him Terry again.
I also forgot the stories about how Goodman used to go to Jac's store and rough him up if Sabboth didn't have the money that he owed Frank. Jac told me personally how Frank once lifted him up by his shirt and threw him against a wall. Jac said the reason he didn't fight back was because it was in his store and not some fight in the streets. I can understand not wanting an altercation in your place of business, if you can call Jac's store a place of business.
I also forgot to mention how Jac screwed over all the DOIVideo.com customers last year. For the last month Jac had control he didn't send out any orders. Once I took the site back over, I mailed out all the DVDs to the customers, even though Jac got all the money. So in addition to the 2000$ he owes me, I probably lost another $400 out of pocket on DVD sales, but it was the right thing to do as it was Jac's fault for being a fuck-up not the fans. A few fans posted about this on various message boards at the time about how the DVDs were made up to them. I had a bunch of emails saved from fans at the time, but can't find them now, however we did get this email today:
You can add me to the stiffer list. I was stiffed out of 8 DVD's by Jac. I've bought 24 DVD's through out the time Sabboth was playing owner.
DOI's Christian Lill was also screwed on DVDs by Jac, as well as Jose Marrero. Jose also mentioned previously in a column about still seeing bootleg DVDs in Jac's store.
It was also reminded to me that a then 31 year old Jac Sabboth was going out with a 17 year old girl and bragged about taking her virginity. While it is legal, you have to wonder what Jac would think if a 31 year old man was all over his daughter when she turns 17.
Jac also stiffed three people with a valid New York State promoters license. He stiffed Bon Jovi on a ring rental, I believe $2000 for the whole deal. However, I believe Bon Jovi has since gotten some of the money back. Jac also stiffed Gino Caruso on building rentals by canceling shows at the last minute and not giving Gino any type of fee for taking his date over someone else's.
Jac also made a deal where he signed a contract with Greg Stengel of the DPCC. He signed a year type deal where he'd have the building and take the building away from NYWC. That deal lasted one show.
I also forgot the infamous Ralphs Italian Ices story in my original column. Aside from using his mothers never-ending impending death as an excuse, Jac said he was moving to California to open up his own Ralph's Italian Ice chain. That never happened. Too bad Jac was never that creative when it came to booking wrestling.
Jac also stiffed a kid who was working for him named Jules. No shock that Jac stiffed an employee as everyone who's ever worked for Jac has had a Sabboth The Stiffer story.
My email has literally been flooded with Sabboth The Stiffer stories that I forgot. The original article was so long that it's amazing when you think about how many people Jac really fucked over during the years. Once I get everything sorted out, we'll have more.
