2006 Defeat = 2008 Victory For Republicans
By Eugene “The Spin Doctor” McCallister
Today the Democrats finally gained control of both the House and the Senate when Jim Webb of Virginia defeated incumbent George Allen. This capped off a big time victory for the Democrats across the country. You could see the gleam in Nancy Pelosi’s eye during her press conference. You could hear the thrill of victory in Howard Dean’s voice when he wasted no time at all in calling President Bush incompetent, untrustworthy and a liar. So much for working together.
The Howard Dean comments are exactly what we needed though. It reiterated the FACT that this election was lost because the Republicans lost it. The Democrats did nothing at all to win this election. They had no agenda at all. They won an election without an agenda! That’s pretty amazing and you have to tip your hat to the Republicans for really blowing this one.
Keep in mind that these elections we sooooo close. How many of them came within the margin of error? Places where millions of people voted came down to a difference of only a few thousand votes. What does that tell you? It tells me that the country wasn’t buying into what the Democrats were selling. It also tells me that the country wanted to send a message that some change was needed. The only problem was that the only change that could take place would be to put these irresponsible left wing liberals like Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, John Kerry, Charles Rangel and Harry Reid in power. What a mistake. What a tremendous mistake. But it’s a mistake that America will learn from. In 2 short years the lesson will have sunk in and another change will come. A change that was in the Republican plans even before the results of 2006 were in.
The Democrats cried about the Iraq war over and over again. A failed policy they claim. They ignored the fact that President Bush explained that “stay the course” means keep the goal of victory not keep tactics that aren’t working in place. But the Democrats had to play ignorant and use the “stay the course” quote over and over again to make people think the President didn’t know what he was doing in Iraq. We’ve never once heard of a plan for Iraq from the Democrats. All we heard was how bad Bush and Donald Rumsfeld were. The Democrats still have no set plan for Iraq. What they have for Iraq is 5 different plans they are trying to pull together to present to President Bush.
You know what is going to happen? I will tell you. This war in Iraq and the overall war on terror is a tough war. One that has never been fought before. Lessons are being learned everyday in it. But the thing that wont change is the Democrats will continue to insult, blame and undermine President Bush in this war. The Democrats wont get anything done and they will have lost their biggest chip – the blame game.
The “Blame Bush” era created by the far left who loath the President is no longer usable by these imbeciles. Now when things do not go so good in Iraq or anywhere else they will bear the brunt of the blame along with President Bush. When they are to blame for the lack of progress in the world what platform will they use to run on in 2008?
They demanded for a long time for Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to be removed from his position that he served with integrity and honor. Did he make mistakes along the way? Of course he did. He’s a human being for Christ sake! We all make mistakes. But Rumsfeld served his country for decade upon decade and was disrespected by the far left wing of the Democratic Party. He served as the White House Chief of Staff and as Secretary of Defense twice. He served his country and should be respected for it. But the Democrats on the far left, the ones who control the party, continue to take shots at him.
Who will they blame when this war, that is being waged for the first time ever, doesn’t work out by 2008? I know what the Republicans will do during this time. They will find candidates that are closer to the middle then the right on the political scale. They’ll show how the Democrats were full of shit when they said they would make the country safer. They show how the Dems were exactly right when they had no plan for Iraq at all. The Republicans will show just what type of gridlock will come into effect in Washington and NOTHING WILL GET DONE. Outside of something on Illegal Immigrants nothing will get done. And then who will the Democrats blame? They got what they wanted – they got the power back. They got what they wanted with Rumsfeld – he’s out. Bush extended the olive branch to the same people who have insulted his integrity and the office of the President of the United States. They’ll have nothing to run on. The “Blame Bush” era has officially ended! And now the Democrats have nothing.
I believe that the Republicans had a strong feeling they would lose this mid-term election. I also think they were planning for 2008 all along when BOTH the House and the Senate will be up for grabs as well as the office of President of the United States. Who will run from the Democratic side? Hillary Clinton? Howard Dean? Harry Reid? Al Gore? John Kerry? Those are the Democrats leaders!!! Way to send out a bunch of losers! Off the top of my head, the Republicans have 3 worthy candidates in John McCain, Rudy Guiliani and current MA. Governor Mitt Romney. The Presidency is all but guaranteed and the Republicans have 2 years now to find Moderate Republicans to run. Reagan Conservatives will have a big voice the next couple of years and they will take back the House and the Congress and the Presidency in 2008 and the only ones the Democrats can blame for it this time is themselves! Suckers!
Here’s what we have to look forward to with the new people in Washington:
Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker: She voted against cutting taxes by $70 million, voted against the Patriot Act, voted against the NSA Spy Program that helped capture the enemies of our country, voted against reducing the death tax, voted against drilling in Alaska so we could find more oil and not rely on foreign countries for it, she voted against making it illegal to desecrate the flag, she supports gay marriage, she opposed a bill that would strengthen immigration laws and she called for a time table withdrawal from Iraq no matter what the situation was there.
Charles Rangel as the Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee: Rangel has already said there is not a Bush tax cut he would not repeal. He’s insulted the President and Vice-President numerous times. He called for a renewal of the Military draft and has been arrested numerous times for civil disobedience.
John Conyers would be the head of the Judiciary Committee. This guy is calling for President Bush to be impeached. Great idea during a time of war. Great idea! He also accused Congress of “not reading most bills.” Sounds like a smart leader. WHAT A JOKE!
And here is one for the records: Alcee Hastings would be Chairman of the Intelligence Committee. Now I know most of you have no clue who this guy is but here is a small sample of what he is all about: as a federal judge 18 years ago Mr. Hastings was IMPEACHED on charges of EXTORTION, PERJURY and FALSIFYING DOCUMENTS! And they are putting the Intelligence Committee in his hands. Someone needs to stop this atrocity from happening!
So all the Democrats had to do to secure a Republican victory in 2008 was win in 2006 and they did it. The future looks bright and it has everything to do with the Democratic Party. Just be yourselves and us Republicans don’t have a thing to worry about!
