Saddam Hussein was found guilty of crimes against humanity over the weekend and was sentenced to death by hanging. Saddam is allowed an appeal which will take place within 30 days. Even if he wins his appeal on these charges they only stem from the mass murderers he committed in the early 1980s. If his sentence is over turned, the Iraqi people will try him on other crimes against humanity he committed. Iraq was preparing for a lot of violence to break out across the country and even some of our own members of the board predicted there would be mass violence due to the verdict. Not only was that wrong, but the people were in the streets celebrating justice finally being brought to a disgusting and dispicable man. It still shocks me that some people feel that we never should have removed this man from power. Multiple crimes against humanity committed in multiple decades and some folks feel we should have left him alone. Unreal.
Anyway, heres to justice!
