Note: The following may contain WXW spoilers
What up all you DOImaniacs and welcome to another McReview. This past weekend (October 18 and 19) I attended two WXW shows, one in Mount Carmel, PA and one in Sciota, PA. It was a long and fun filled weekend, and this review/results will be for the October 18th Mount Carmel show. Look for the Sciota review to be posted on this site about 2 hours after reading this one. And if you’re reading this past 5 PM, then go back to the main page and look for the Sciota review.
Few things-
Looooooooong weekend… so I’m still tired and I am getting home for the first time since Friday, as Friday was Mike Zevons bachelor party and unforgettable piledrivers. I’ll discuss more of that in an upcoming McRoss Report lol.
I got mad school work to do, so this might come off some what rushed, so I’ll try to get in as much as possible.
Ok with that said, onto the review.
WXW Rage TV Taping
Saturday, October 18th.
Mount Carmel, home of incest and more, Pennsylvania
Show was about 2 hours 20 minutes long, a great time for a show.
Attendance was anywhere from 180 to 200.
Your ring announcer is…. More on that soon.
PRESHOW: I know all of you people love the Preshow lol. Went to the Silver Spur bar and drank 50 cent beers like a mad man. I only spent 10 bucks in there, 15 with tip. Figure in a few free drinks from a bartender, whose teeth looked very oddly similar to a cartoon characters mouth after biting a brick, and I was very prepared to deal with all the hicks and Yankee haters in Mount Carmel.
Show starts off with the Star Spangled Banner.
Ring Announcer Scott Matthews was in the ring to start off the show. All of a sudden, DOI’s and Trash Talking’s own, Doc Daniels makes his way to the ring. Doc and Scott get into a discussion that wasn’t heard by the fans, and Scott leaves the ring a little peeved. Doc is your new ring announcer. Please WXW, no Jonathan Coachman angles. So, our ring announcer for the night is Doc Daniels.
Time for match results..
The All Knighters (Joey Knight and Sexy Monkey) d. Team Target (Devious/Tekno Heat)
Great way to start off the show. I am quickly becoming a fan of the All Knighters. These guys are freakin entertaining and can move well. Team Target have vastly improved their ring work and are starting to have good matches with numerous opponents. These 4 guys really got the whole crowd into the show and the crowd was hot all night. The All Knighters have a great gimmick and with more exposure, can be one of the top heel tag teams today. If you haven’t seen these guys, it’s worth trying to get a copy of a WXW show with them on it. At one point in the match, Tekno Heat tried acting like a heel for some reason, by doing goofy stuff, while Devious was being serious and wanting to kick ass. Devious was the house of fire for Team Target, but it wasn’t enough, as The All Knighters were able to get the win with their finisher. Their finisher is Joey Knight backdropping their opponent into a Sexy Monkey Powerbomb, and as Sexy Monkey is hitting the powerbomb, Joey knight hits a spinning heel kick. Good work by all four guys in this one.
Mike Tobin d. Greg Spitz
The battle of the former tag team wrestlers, as Tobin comes from the Boogie Knights and Spitz comes from the Well Hung Warriors. Greg Spitz has a stripper tattoo, just like Tyler Payne, meaning right on the lower back. Come on guys, that’s a chick tattoo. Our referee in this bout, is Kevin Quinn, who reffed in jeans the whole night. Even the crowd pointed that out to him, as some screamed, “The refs wearing jeans.” Good job Mount Carmel lol. This was a short match. Tobin was able to get the win, after a face first Russian leg sweep. Good finish for Tobin, and it was Tobin’s first WXW victory. Short and to the point match.
Crazy Ivan d. Dark Havoc
Dark Havoc was doing a new Blackjack gimmick. He was also wearing a Jack Daniels T-Shirt, so I won’t go too hard on this match lol. Ivan wins after his somersault kick to the head. Dark Havoc looked lost.
Handicap Match
Mana “The Polynesian Warrior” d. Johnny “Bison” Bravado and Weave
Bravado didn’t want to team with Weave and was disgusted with Weave’s prancing. This was squash city. Mana hit the body bag (The move popularized by Slugger here in the NY area- the fall down bodyslam) on Weave. Mana hits the Owendriver (The move Owen used to break Austins neck- the tombstone position pile driver) on Bravado. A big time Samoan back drop from the top later to Bravado, and Mana is able to easily become victorious. Squash.
POSTMATCH: Rapid Fire Molanado (I know I’m spelling this wrong, I never get it right) and Rob Dimension run out and beat up Mana. Rapid Fire hits a Van Daminator. Mana is down. Finally, something real for Mana. Mana looks good in all the matches I’ve seen, but they have all been squashes. A good match between Mana and Rapid Fire will be interesting to see, as I still haven’t seen Mana in a match longer than 5 minutes.
Mean Gene Sinisky d. Tommy Seude w/Ariel
Great match. I said it before and I’ll say it again, Mean Gene will be in the WWE. This guy is better than Batista, when Batista was in the indies. Mean Gene has all the WWE tools, from size, to promos, to attitude, from wrestling and getting the crowd to hate him. Fuck Nathan Jones, you want a big man, I’ll take Mean Gene over ½ the WWE big man roster today. This match was very solid, and saw Tommy Seude take the advantage numerous times. Gene launched Seude from one corner to the other, with a huge hiptoss. Seude was able to rebound, and hit a beautiful corkscrew moonsault from the ring to the floor. Seude “went to the well too many times” as he tried for another high risk move, but Gene got out of the way. More pounding from Gene. Seude was able to get away from Gene, and got a nice spinning heel kick off to Gene’s bulbous head. Seude then hit two standing shooting star presses. Impressive. Seude went for his patented 450 Splash, and it looked like Gene would taste defeat, but Gene was able to kick out. Gene said enough of this bullshit, then went on a war path. A huge boot to the face, and a big ass side walk slam later, Gene was victorious in this match. Seude is really fucking good too. I was thinking that this match wouldn’t be too hot before the match, because both are heels, but Seude was able to get the crowd behind him, and Gene made Seude look legit, because Seude looked like had Gene beat numerous times. Good job all around.
POSTMATCH: Billy Dream runs in and challenges Gene to a match later on the show. Ummm… isn’t Dream the huge face champion? Why would he do something cowardly like that? By cowardly, I mean why challenge Gene when Gene just had a long match. Isn’t that what heels do? Oh well, I’m lost lol. By the way, Dream needs to learn to keep the microphone off his lips, as this promo was barely audible.
For the WXW Cruiserweight Championship
© J-Busta d. Anthony Michaels
Does it even matter what you weigh to challenge for the Cruiserweight belt? I mean SLG isn’t exactly a cruiserweight, and he was the former champion. Today Anthony Michaels challenged for the belt, and Anthony Michaels must be 230 pounds at least. Wait till you see what cruiserweight challenged Busta on Sunday. As far as the match, it was pretty decent. Supreme Lee Great came out to scout Busta, as he lost the belt to Busta, the previous week in Hazleton. Busta hit a nice DVD in the corner and Michaels took it hard. Michaels was able to regroup and hit a sweet bulldog headlock into a urinage. Nice. Busta was able to win this match cleanly, after a brainbuster cradle.
POSTMATCH: Anthony Michaels, the cruiserweight, attacks J-Busta after losing. SLG looks on, then leaves.
It’s announced that December 12th, 2003, WXW will return to Mount Carmel, PA. Good way to promote an upcoming show, especially after coming off 2 good matches.
Supreme Lee Great d. Nick Destiny w/Rob Anthony
Oh god. Nick Destiny was greener than a freshly cut golf course. Why people want to wrestle and embarrass themselves is beyond me. There are two different shapes, in shape and ring shape, and Nick didn’t look to have either. SLG tried saving this match, but to no avail. Nick was from Mount Carmel, and had the crowd behind him… obviously he only works WXW in Mount Carmel, because everyone from Mount Carmel comes to see him. Good idea to put him with one of WXW’s strongest heels, in Supreme Lee Great. Thankfully, this match was over short, courtesy a tiger suplex from SLG.
WXW Women Champion Cindy Rogers and Phoenix d. Frankie V and Pyscho w/Luscious Lily
Good hammerlock exchange from Frankie and Pyscho. Frankie got lots of heat and lots of gay chants in his direction, as he was dressed like a chick, making the whole being upset about dressing as a girl, the week earlier, making no sense at all. Pyscho accidentally collides with Lily at one point in the match. A sitdown body slam from Phoenix to Frankie V. finishes off this bout.
POSTMATCH: Cindy spanks Frankie V, to the crowd and Frankie V’s delight.
Intermission: Polished off some Miller High Lifes. Wordlife.
Rapid Fire Moldanado (Never will get that right lol) w/Rob Dimension d. Mark Gore
Again, Mark Gore looks like a skinny and tall Danny Demanto. Dimension is doing a great job in his early WXW career, as he has the crowd against him right away. Unlike other heel managers in WXW, Dimension puts the crowd energy against Rapid Fire as well as himself, as another heel manager just gets the crowd against him, not his wrestlers. Good match here as well, which seemed to be the trend tonight. Rapid Fire hit his patented spinning rock bottom. An enziguri later, Rapid Fire was victorious. Probably the best match I’ve seen Gore have. The pants Dimension was wearing, looked something that Screech would wear.
Jake Bishop vs Cliff Compton went to a double DQ
There were a few blatant low blows, that the ref saw but didn’t call for a dq. Compton pushes the ref down. Bishop pushes the ref down. Double DQ was called. These two, while being big guys who do look like wrestlers, are not doing anything to stand out and this was a boring match.
POSTMATCH: Compton hits his impaler DDT. That move is pretty cool.
All Money is Legal (K-Murda, Kaoytik and Dizzie) d. Los Lunatics (Eddie Guapo, Low Ryda and Boogalou) in a 6 man match.
Good match here. LOTS of unique double and triple teaming. This match was lucha style, as a tag didn’t need to be made. Just lots of cool moves. While there wasn’t too much psychology in this match, it was fun to watch, and the crowd were into it big time. The crowd hates Eddie Guapo for whatever reason, and totally dig AMIL. It’s funny to see all these hicks go nuts for all these spanish wrestlers lol. Dizzie must’ve put too much bleach in his tights, as his partners had red and white matching tights, and Dizzie had pink/white tights lol. Lots of fast wrestling. AMIL hits the Dead President, and Dizzie finishes off Boogalou with a frog splash for the win. Not the best WRESTLING match in the world, but a very entertaining match.
Doc Daniels reminds everyone that WXW returns to Mount Carmel on Dec 12. Good way to plug the next show. Seems WXW plugs their upcoming shows after hot matches. Good idea.
For the WXW TV Title
Smooth Tommy Seude d. Havoc by forfeit
Havoc’s music played 3 times. He didn’t come out. “He’s Afraid” chants come out. Rapid Fire and Rob Dimension walk out, and Dimension informs us that “Havoc accidentally ran into a brick wall.” STS calls Rapid Fire Dumbo, due to Rapid Fire’s enormous ears. Rapid Fire and Dimension leave. STS is declared the winner by forfeit. I’m pretty sure the title doesn’t change hands here. Seems that STS is being built up as a face now too. So now Rapid Fire is feuding with Mana and Havoc? That’s the one thing about WXW, you never know what’s going on 100% at the live shows, as WXW shows are for TV and are episodic, not a promotion that has a big card every 6 weeks.
8 Man Tag Team Match
Reno “The Black Pearl”/LA Smooth/Nuisance/Ekmo aka Jamal from 3MW d. Papado/CJ North/Perfect Creation/Monsta Mack
This was Monsta Mack’s return to WXW. This match was confusing. The unSamoan team came out as faces and played to the crowd, but got booed. The Samoan team came out as heels but got cheered. You would think that the Samoans would come out as faces, mostly in part due to Jamals popularity. The wrestling in the ring reflected the same stuff, as members of the unSamoan team were wrestling as faces, and got booed, while the Samoan team were acting as heels and got cheered. I don’t think it was the Austin syndrome, I just think that the Samoans should’ve just played to the crowd, because they weren’t going to get booed. The match was nothing really special, as it was just 8 guys going in there, doing a couple of moves and tagging out. The match did pick up a little at the end, as all the guys were hitting big moves. The finish was sweet though, as the Perfect Creation got hit with a double clothesline and a double gore at the same time. Ouch. Jamal hits the bodyslam into Rockbottom for good measure, and seals up the win for his team.
POSTMATCH: Jamal and his team go to Afa, who was sitting near the ring, and put over Afa as the father of the Samoans and doing a great job with WXW. Again, if you’re heels, then that’s something you don’t really do lol. That’s why I found it confusing.
Main Event
For the WXW World Title
© Billy Dream d. Mean Gene Sinisky
Jessica Dally is the special ref.
Here is the match: Gene has the match won on two occasions. Dally doesn’t count the pins, because Dream is her man. Gene gets mad. Gene goes to chokeslam the shit out of Dream, Dream kicks Gene in the nuts in front of Jessica the ref. Dream hits the diamond cutter. Jessica Dally fastcounts Gene down, and Dream retains. That’s your main event. Poo on that lol. This match made Dream look really weak. The big babyface champion couldn’t beat Gene, and needed to cheat 4 times to win. I thought WXW was oldschool and full of tradition, what’s with all the heel/face stuff tonight? It did make Gene look good though. Gene was getting some face cheers too as well, but I think it came from a previous incident in Mount Carmel. I think a double switch needs to be made here, meaning turning Gene into a face and Dream into a heel. Thankfully, Sunday made me forget this match…
Final McWord:
All in all, another fine WXW show. This was the best WXW show I’ve ever been to, crowd wise. They were going nuts for everything. Good atmosphere. Lots of good matches on this. Billy Dream needs to lose the title immediately… Gene has morphed himself into a huge superstar in a fast amount of time. The Lunatics/Amil feud is one of the best feuds in the indies today. Belladawna is cool. WXW security did a fine job of maintaining the unruly wrestling fans lol. The Bishop/Compton feud is boring. I’m really impressed with Tommy Seude, and he’s having great matches night in night out. J-Busta is doing a great job in WXW. J-Busta vs Tommy Seude would be some hot matches. I was glad to see Mike Tobin have another solid performance. Bison needs at least one shot to wrestle a real match, not squash matches, as no one is able to see what he’s got if he’s getting squashed match after match. Good to see Monsta Mack return to WXW after a year absence. I’m working on what the \\// symbol means, as that’s what he gave me with his hands. Maybe the V stands for Vulcan? Shit it could stand for Volvo for all I know. WXW is doing a great job, and these cards have been better now, than they were in the beginning of the year. WXW is still the only promotion that really relies on TV and is more of a TV indy and doing things no one else is doing. I really wish that WXW can get onto NY TV, so I can follow the storylines better. Sometimes, even after going to the shows, being there live doesn’t explain everything. Maybe a titan tron, like ECWA has would help?
WXW returns to Mount Carmel on December 12th.

WXW October 19th from Sciota, PA McReview will be up some time after your finished reading this.
And I’m not gonna get all my school work done today
