Pro Wrestling Hybrid Report
Note: I didn't see parts of the show, as I lent PWH promoter Keith Zimmer a helping hand with the show. This report will just be a summary of what happened.

PWH
4/13
Lake Hiawatha, NJ
Refs: Corey H, John, Ref Hanson & The Masked Official
Ring Announcer: "Jumpin'" Joe Janella
Attendance 44+ (With 3/4 of the crowd leaving after the main ticket seller's match)

Corvis Fear & Nicky Oceans d. Minyon & Jorge Santi
This was a fast paced tag team match, and a good way to kick off the show. Corvis & Oceans, the former NWS Tag Team Champions as "Team Supreme", played up to the crowd, defeating Mindyon & Santi cleanly. Team Supreme hit a double tombstone on Minyon, winning the match cleanly.

Pro Wrestling Hybrid promoter, the intimidating & fierce Keith Zimmer, came out to welcome everyone to the show. He introduced us to our ring announcer, "Jumpin" Joe Jannella, who announced just like the way Fabian Kaelin did in WSX. Joe was pretty funny, running around the ring and screaming at the top of his lungs while introducing everyone. While it isn't a traditional style, this is the indies, and when you got 40 people in the seats, you gotta do something to keep the crowd alive. I thought Joe did a solid job being over-the-top, as it was so ridiculous that you just had to laugh, just like one of the matches on this card.

Monsta Mack d. Eddie Guapo
After promo work from both guys, the match between these Doghouse alums began. Both tried using WWE finisher moves on each other to put the match away. Eventually, Monsta Mack, with the power of his Jagermeister T-Shirt, was able to make Guapo tap out, after a sharpshooter.

DVS d. Bandido Jr.
Before the match, Bandido made it clear that he can take on anyone, no matter what their size is. Bandido, doing a little-big man gimmick, had his challenge answered by the large and in charge DVS. This was unfortunate for Bandido, who was put away after a chokeslam from the big man.

Mike Tobin came out for his debut talk show of "Mike'd Up." Tobin talked about how wrestlers are now biting off his Macho Man impersonation in TNA. Tobin also talked about other things in the wrestling world, before being interrupted by PWH promoter Keith Zimmer. Tobin made several cracks at Zimmer's expense, as Tobin did not back away from the grizzled & quick-acting promoter. Zimmer explained what happened to the Zombie tonight, as the mark promoters of PWS (Eric Tapout & Spencer Jawitz) are paying Tim Arson an exorbitant (aka mark-price) amount to keep Arson exclusive to their show and made Tim cancel his PWH booking. (We'll have more on this "only-on-the-indies" story about these money marks soon.) Zimmer then informed Tobin he wasn't off the hook tonight, and brought out Danny Demanto to challenge Mike Tobin.

Mike Tobin d. Danny Demanto
This was a fun and entertaining match, as these NY indy veterans had their first match together in years. Danny went for several of his trademark moves, but it wasn't enough. Mike Tobin showed everyone who was the real & truest Macho Man Randy Savage supporter, honoring Savage with a picture-perfect top rope elbow drop, to put Demanto away for the three.

(Malicious & Delicious) Joe So Delicious & Havok d. Socks & Shoes (El Shoes & Socks)
Shoes introduced us to his newest tag team partner on the indy scene, the formidable Socks. This match started off as comedy, but the two powerhouses that make up Malicious & Delicious eventually had enough. Havok hit his spear, and Joe hit the Spice Rack, winning this match in dominating fashion.

Double Dog Collar Match
Low Life Louie & Bison Bravado d. Rayza & Danny Yamz
This match had the small but vocal crowd going nuts, as these guys went at it like animals. Thumbtacks, trash cans, lids & other types of weapons were used in this match. There was tons of bloodage in this ferocious match. The ending spot saw Louie DVD Rayza on a sheet of plywood that was propped up by two chairs. However, the wood didn't break, and Rayza's back took the brunt of the solid wood. Louie went to go for the pin, but the ever opportunistic Bison Bravado pushed Louie away and took the win for himself.
POSTMATCH: Bison Bravado attacked Louie, saying he was sick of being stuck in hardcore matches.

After a quick 5 minute intermission, which was used to clean the ring, PWH returned with the following:

Ray The Ticket Seller d. The USA Pro Super Destroyer
If it wasn't for Ray, PWH would've had 8 people in the crowd. Despite selling 30+ tickets, Ray was the heel in this match. Ray, who had darker skin, was called a "Negro John Cena" by the USA Pro Super Destroyer. The USA Pro Super Destroyer wore a 90's USA PW T-Shirt, black sweats & had a black mask with a star over the face. Ray slapped The UPSD to start the match, and that would be the only offense he'd get. The USPD chopped, lariated and back slapped Ray. However, Ray, having his first pro match, had a successful outing, as he was able to pin USPD, after USPD charged at Ray, only for Ray to get out of the way and roll up The USPD. Ray also used the ropes for an assist, as Ray cheated by having his feet on the ropes, unbeknownst to the referee. This was a very comedic match.

Mack Daddy Flexxx d. Skinhead Ivan
Skinhead Ivan came out first, spewing his hate filled slurs & bigotry. It was like listening to Dana Dameson speak in real life. Ivan challenged any nigger, spic or non-white to take him on. Mack Daddy Flexxx accepted the challenge, and his facials were dead on, as he looked like he wanted to rip Ivan's head off his neck.

This was a very good match, but it was a shame that 3/4 of the crowd left. After seeing Ray's match, the crowd left with Ray. Some of the crowd would come back in, but they could care less as their boy already worked. This is one of the negatives of having ticket sellers on the show, but without it, this show would've lost more money than it did.

Ivan hit several of his trademark moves, such as his spinning kick and top rope elbow, but Flexx was able to power back up and get the win.

POSTMATCH: Ivan, infuriated about losing to someone with a darker shade, challenged Flex to a Loser-Has-To-Be-A-Slave match at the next PWH show. It was good to see two people from different schools (Ivan from ECPW & Flexxx from Gleasons) have a good old school match. It just goes to show that if you just know how to wrestle and trained properly, you can have a good match anywhere.

Rocksha 337 d. Ref Hanson after 6 Rocksha Stunners
This match was incredible. THIS WAS THE BEST INDY MATCH YOU WILL SEE ALL YEAR. BUY THIS DVD ONCE IT COMES OUT.

It was 5 stars. It was The Godfather meets Casablanca. If you love classic indy wrestling, this match is for you. If you're someone into American Dragon, this match is for you. If you're a wrestling fan, you need to see this match. This was as INDY as you get.

Yes, this DVD is being sold on DOIVideo.com so this is going to look like a shill, but I urge you to get this DVD once it's released. It's only $10 and for $10 you will own a piece of indy wrestling history. Shit, I'll even offer refunds if you're not entertained by this match.

Rocksha & Hanson, who are no far cry from George Hackenschmidt & Frank Gotch, put on a technical masterpiece. Rocksha skillfully applied a Rocksha Stunner to start the match. Rocksha and Hanson would engage in more battle, with Hanson giving Rocksha the dreaded Von Erich Claw, and Rocksha giving Hanson his feared "The Unknown" submission.

Despite being a referee, Hanson endured the pain and agony that Rocksha delivered. Hanson was able to get to his feet after 5 neck-shattering and emotionally scarring Rocksha Stunners. However, the 6th was a charm, as Hanson could no longer take it (and I don't think the fans could either, but it sure sold out the locker room) and Rocksha earned a clean pinfall victory.

POSTMATCH: Rocksha, not having enough after stunnering Hanson 6 times, flipped out. The Masked Official ate a Stunner. Corey H ate a stunner. Ring Announcer Jumpin Joe Jannella was stunned. Minyon & Santi came out to slow Rocksha's flow, but they got stunned too. The action was fast & furious and I'm probably forgetting a few people who got stunned. Hanson came back up, only to get stunned again. Rocksha then called for the beers and did a beer bash. However, Kevin Matthews, seeing enough jumped over the guard rail and was the only person to take Rocksha out. However, Rocksha's CZW partner, The Grim Reefer, ran out to save Rocksha and we went into our next match...

The Grim Reefer w/Rocksha d. Kevin Matthews via submission in a Falls Count Anywhere Match
These two, who are now seemingly feuding everywhere, had their best match in the series. I'm sure the stipulation helped too. These guys brawled all over the building for 20 minutes. Reefer teased throwing Kevin Matthews from the second floor of the ECPW arena, but Kevin fought Reefer off. After fighting on the second floor, fighting in the stair well, fighting in the bathroom, fighting in the bleachers the match went back into the ring. From there, Reefer was able to give Kevin his crippler crossface for the clean tap-out submission victory.

POSTMATCH: Rocksha & Reefer celebrated the win. Rocksha asked Reefer to join him in a beer bash. However, several people wanted to break up the beer bash. The following people were then stunned by the indy icon himself, Rocksha 337:
- Ref Hanson
- Corey H
- Jumpin Joe
- Mike Tobin
- Jorge Santi
- Minyon
- Joe Delicious
- Alicia (Who Rocksha looked unsure about stunning)

After stunning the Who's Who of PWH, Rocksha asked a fan to join him in a ring for a beer. Rocksha then stunned the fan. Promoter Keith Zimmer saw enough, and yelled at Rocksha about attacking fans. Rocksha told Keith to shut the fuck up then stunned him. With Rocksha going nuts, Reefer tried stunning Rocksha, but Rocksha no-sold it and said into the mic "That's not in the script." Only in indy wrestling. The two then drank beer and the show came to a conclusion.

Final McWord
This was a fun show. Talking with several fans after the show, they said they enjoyed it as it had everything. Several fans likened it to an abridged USA Pro Elks Lodge Era show, which was what some of the wrestlers said too. This was probably the best locker room I ever was in too, as there was no BS. Everyone did their thing and had a good time. Unlike other indy shows, there was no egos or BS. The biggest problem was the money marks pulling the Zombie off the show, but not one fan cared. When offered refunds when told the Zombie wasn't there, several fans said "Who?" I guess making guys being exclusive to you, who were on TV a year ago for 3 seconds isn't a wise investment.

This really was like an old school USA Pro Show, minus 4 hours of show time. You had funny ticket seller matches, good quality indy matches, a bloody hardcore match, several angles developed and more. There was even a USA PW Super Destroyer.

This was a fun night out. PWH won't change the wrestling world, as it's not even a mere blip on the scene, but for one night only, the ECPW Arena was transformed into a 2003 NY Elks Lodge. Tons of good stuff on the show, and the bad stuff was so over the top that you will laugh your balls (or for you females out there- your tits) off. If you love the indies you'll love this.

PWH also filmed tons of hilarious backstage promos for the DVD release, featuring Rocksha stiffing Keith Zimmer with a forearm.

Overall
MUST-GET DVD. The first half of this show is pretty solid whereas the second half is comical. You will have a ball.
