WXW Rage Review
Tape Opens up with a "Don't try this at home warning." Hear that Lionel Tate?
The following tape is brought to you by Tope Rope Productions.
RAGE opens up with some highlight clips. Nice.
Cut to promo with Doc Daniels who is with Rob Dimension and his latest acquisition of his Ivy League, Molsonn. Dimension talks about his future and the like.
We go the commentators, Da Bald Guy and Marc Clemson. They recap the interview we just saw. Clemson is your straight man, and DBG is your Jesse Ventura. They run down the main event of the show, and some other matches.
Eddie Guapo d. Mike Tobin
This was taped from Sciota, PA.
From the original review live:
Pretty decent match. In WXW, the Lunatics are no longer allowed to team no more,
due to a match stipulation with AMIL. This match between former tag stars turned out well.
Both worked each other’s legs. Guapo got the win with a reverse diamond cutter after 10
or so minutes of action.
This match was a treat to watch again, as both guys are making names for themself on the indy scene. Clemson and DBG are natural working together. DBG is probably the best heel commentator on the indies scene today. Clemson isn't far off in his Michael Cole role. Watching this match, then watching these guys from a year ago, the improvement is very noticable. Good match. The finisher that Guapo hit was really nice, and he should use it more often.
We go to Angel Williams who talks about WXW's great women division. She's right, it's easily the best women's division today. We then cut to Tracy Brooks who confirms that.
We go to a commercial with Afa The Wild Samoan plugging their computer store sponsor.
We are then shown highlights of WXW's annual Sportsfest event. Sportsfest is the Wrestlemania of WXW. We see some big name stars such as the Nasty Boys, Crowbar, Doink The Clown, The Bushwhackers, King Kong Bundy, Jimmy Snuka, D-Lo Brown and a whole lot more. We also see some of WXW's main roster. It was chilling to see Owen Hart, as we approach the 5 year anniversary of his death.
Back to the commentators who talk about the upcoming match. They also talk about The Samoan Cup, scheduled for April 25th.
All Money Is Legal d. Damon Flash and Tommy Northshore
Clemson talks about Afa winning the DOI Lifetime Achievement Award, which we still haven't
presented to him yet. Our bad lol. AMIL are wearing their taxi cab attire. AMIL looked really
good, I don't know what AMIL did to wrestle these guys over other WXW tag teams. AMIL hit
some great double team moves and double stretched Flash in a tree of woe. Flash got better
as the match went along. Northshore and Kash get into an armdrag war, which Kash gets
the better of. I say it every time, but AMIL has really stepped up to the plate as a top
name tag team. AMIL hit a gory special and an ace crusher at the same time on Flash for
the 1-2-3 pinfall victory.
Batista promo for WXW.
Slyk and April Hunter promo for WXW on Service Electric Cable.
Mike Mittman, Afa, and John Karoly promo for Karoly's law firm.
Promo with Afa Jr., as he mocks Havoc's Puerto Rican descent. Afa Jr. runs Havoc down.
Afa Jr. d. Havoc
From the live review:
Solid match. This was Afa Jr’s return to WXW after relinquishing the WXW Heavyweight
Title 5 months ago. (In reality, he went to go play college football.) After a lot of
back and forth action, Afa Jr. got the win with a rockbottom.
Afa Jr. has added a new tattoo on his left arm, similiar to his relative the Rock. Clemson and DBG's banter is pretty humorous. Havoc had the advantage early in this match, and capitalized off of Afa Jr.'s miscues. This match, while "WWE-stylish" was good to see again. Afa Jr. wins after a rock bottom, followed by a frogsplash.
A plug for Physical Graffitti's store. They do embroidery and all that great stuff out in Allentown, Pa. Feel free to yellow page it.
We go to a tattoo store. It's called Critical Acclaim Tattoos. We see some WXW workers getting inked up, including Afa Jr. I'm sorry but Crazy Monkey Tattoos is where it's at! (Got to plug the place of employment lol)
Angel Williams does a M.A.D.D. promo. Don't drink and drive lol
Back to Clemson and DBG, who talk about upcoming WXW shows and developments.
Archive of the Week
Rob Eckos and Mark Gore d. Team Target
Cool little graphic showing how they got the archive.
From the live review:
Weird teaming of Rob Eckos and Mark Gore. Tekno Heat was taking a beating in this one,
but the second Devious was tagged in, he was able to clear house and dominate.
Team Target continues to improve, and it’s good to see them have a shot in WXW. Good
little match.
Mark Gore has since went on to win the WXW Tag Team titles with Anthony Michaels. Eckos and Team Target haven't been back in WXW since this match. Gore wins with an Owen Driver 97 for the win.
Molsonn w/Rob Dimension and Mana “The Polynesian Warrior” went to a no contest
From the live review:
Match was an all out brawl. Finish saw both guys snap and beat the crap out of each other,
and not breaking holds, causing the ref to call for the bell. These guys wouldn’t stop.
I gotta be honest, the attendance couldn’t have been more than 90, but this was the loudest
smallest crowd I was ever in. I went to a JCW show a few weeks back, and it was one of the
deadest smallest crowds I ever saw and I thought that I’d never see a small crowd ever get
loud. This show sparked faith in the saying “Don’t judge a crowds noise by its size.” I think
that’s the saying lol. The crowd went fucking nuts for this. The refs try to break this up.
They can’t. WXW wrestlers come out to break it up. They have a tough time. All of a sudden,
Samu runs to the ring and clears the ring with Mana. Their MLW team reunites in WXW.
This segment got the biggest crowd reaction of the night.
Anothe promo with April Hunter who warns us NOT TO TOUCH THAT DIAL!
We go to another commerical telling us not to try this at home. A chair shot emphasizes that.
We go to Batista who plugs the Wild Samoan Pro Wrestling Training Center. He gives Supreme Lee Great a powerslam for bothering him.
Another plug for the training center. We see all the stars that the training center is responsible for. If you're gonna train, this is the place to do it. The reputation speaks for itself.
Sugaa and Luna Vachon tell us there is no hope with dope. I don't know, it works for rock stars.
Plugs for upcoming WXW shows in Sciota, PA.
More face time with the commentators who talk about the upcoming shows.
For the WXW Heavyweight Championship
(c) Mean Gene Sinisky d. Scotty Matthews
Again, from the live review:
Mean Gene continues to dominate WXW. Dylan Dean, who rejoined Gene back at
the last Sciota show, was no where to be found. Not that I’m complaining tho.
Gene continues to improve every match. This was the first time I saw Scotty Matthews
in WXW, so I don’t know how he got a Heavyweight title shot. Match was pretty basic,
with Gene getting the win with his new finisher, an over the head sidewalk slam.
WXW edited some things out of this match to make the match flow better on tape. DBG and Clemson made this match more enjoyable than when I saw it live. Clemson calls Gene a big jerk. Well, that was certainly bold of him.
Closing time with DBG and Clemson. They run down upcoming shows, plugs for WXW, and all that fun stuff. We see highlights for the matches that will be on Rage next week.
Credits for the show and we are known that it is copyrighted in 2004. Wordlife.
Final McWord
If I lived in the area, I'd watch it whenevr it was on. I finally get to see why they pay
WXW Sean the Camera guy big bucks. Solid camera work and watching the show is like watching
Raw or Smackdown, camera angle wise. The action is also clear as day, and doesn't have those
fuzzy lines or inaudible promos like some promotion tapes.
Overall, a good show.
