What's up everyone and welcome to another McTape Review. I literally have dozens of tapes to go through, so it is my plan to review as much as possible on the site this week. Due to time constraints, I'm not going to give play by play in the reviews, but I will do match summaries. For shoot interviews, I will hit the main stuff, and leave some stuff out there so if you see the tape, not everything is blown up for you.

Well time is a valuable object, so let's right into this McTape Review.

TEDDY HART SHOOT INTERVIEW
Conducted by RF Video on 2/27/04 in Langhorne, PA

Real quick, one thing that must be said before going any further is that this interview was conducted right before the Feinsteingate story broke. I believe this was the last RF Video shoot conducted before the incident. During the interview you can see and hear Rob, Gabe and Teddy being pretty chummy- a sight you probably won't see or hear anytime soon.

Also, it seems that every Teddy Hart interview is like a computer- it gets outdated the day it comes out. I must've read or heard about 10 different Teddy Hart interviews and each one is different. It seems like something is always going down in that young mans life.

The interview starts off with Teddy speaking about growing up. He discusses growing up in the famous Hart family. Throughout the interview you can tell he loved and admired Owen Hart. He puts Owen over for the first time while talking about his family, and continues to put over Owen, the person and the wrestler, during various parts of the interview. Teddy tells us that Owen taught Hart his first backflip, which is an important fact for later on.

Teddy talks alot about his family, and he goes in depth about it. He says that he wasn't pressured to get into the wrestling business, and that he was actually encouraged not to get into it. Teddy said he loved hockey (like most Mother Canuckers) and that's what he played.

Teddy loves Bret alot too. He says that he always admired him. Teddy then mentions that even though he was in a famous family, he didn't see them too much, because due to the nature of the beast, the wrestling business, his family was always on the road.

Teddy discusses getting into the wrestling business with his brother. He was close with his brother.

Teddy discusses the death of his brother. He died after a rare flesh eating disease. Despite his brothers death, Teddy continued to wrestle.

Teddy talks about wrestling in the WWF dojo. He apologizes for his immaturity back then, and realizes he messed up bigtime. He runs down some of the guys who were there, including Steve Corino, who Teddy discusses in depth later on.

Teddy talks about his relationship with the Pritchards. He said that they let him go from his WWF contract. They told Teddy to come back to them once he turned 24. For the record, he is 24 now, so who knows what will happen.

Teddy discusses the Matrats concept. He talks about how Eric Bischoff liked it. Matrats was a promotion with Teddy Hart and his friends, which included TJ Wilson and Jack Evans. He says Matrats was sort of like strong style cruiserweight wrestling. Teddy thinks it has potential to be a national promotion.

Around the 30 minute mark of the interview, Teddy discusses AJ Styles for the first time of many times. He gives off the same sentiment every time- AJ Styles is the best independent wrestler in the world today. Teddy says he apologizes to AJ for any heat they had. He said that he respects AJ and that AJ is one of the greatest wrestlers alive today.

Also, we see at around this point, Teddy Hart's beliefs in God. Teddy is a born again Christian. Teddy thanks God for everything. He thinks God watches out for him during his risk moves. Personally, I don't believe in any of this religious mumbo jumbo, but to each his own.

Teddy discusses his NWA TNA matches. He says he enjoyed wrestling Juventud as well as Johnny Storm. He says he gets along with both guys. As far as kicking out of Juvi's finish so fast, he mentions that Juvi kicked out of several Harts big moves pretty quickly, but since Teddy is Teddy, he was the one who got singled out.

Teddy talks about the 11/1 Scramble Cage match, which skyrocketed his career. Teddy says he was hit in the head and suffered a concussion. He says he doesn't remember any of his flips or anything. He said Evans had to tell him what he did. Hart said he was in the RF Video office to see what he did. Hart talks about the reactions from the other wrestlers in the match. He said Devito was pissed but eventually calmed down. He said Samoa Joe was very angry, but Teddy respects him because he said his piece to Teddy's face. As far as CM Punk goes, Teddy despises him.

Hart says he was concussed during the moonsaults/backflips, but he knows it was done as a tribute for Owen. He talks about how the crowd cheered it live, but crapped on it on the internet.

Talks turns to the internet. Teddy says if you like him, he likes you. He says if you hate him, he hates you. He says he can't stand internet fans who call him a liar because they weren't there. Teddy goes off on the internet fans and says they don't know shit. He says it's ok to criticize him but don't call him a liar if you don't know the situation.

Teddy Hart then talks about CM Punk for a while. He calls him CM Puke and a pussy. He hates Punk and says he only got into wrestling to get girls because he was a high school geek. He berates Punk and calls Punk an internet mark. He talks about his fight in TNA. Hart said Lit of Special K saw the fight and called Rob when it happened because he knew Punk was going to lie about it. Teddy Hart jumps out of his seat and reenacts the fight. He says he beat up Punk and threw him by his hair on the ground. Teddy Hart looks like he regretted the fight, because he got his clothes dirty. This part of the interview is really good and is probably a big selling point. Teddy continues to rip into Punk. Hart says that he could wrestle injured and give a better match than Punk at 100%.

Hart said how much he loved the fans. After seeing Teddy Hart work, and hearing him talk several times personally, I believe everything Hart says, as he always goes all out in his matches. Hart loves his fans. He says people waste their time at a job they hate doing, so they can watch wrestling. He says he wants it to make it worth it for those people and that's why he always gives it his all and will do anything for the fans.

Talk turns to Court Bauer. Teddy likes Court but Court is not a smart business man. Teddy speaks of a rumored project he's working on, presumeably H2.

Hart also talks about a show in Hawaii that he wants to run. He wants all his best guys vs all of ROH's best guys in a big tournament. It would be cool if it ever happened.

Hart then talks about Corino. Hart goes into every detail about his heat with Corino. Hart says that Corino is smart, because both realized that they can make money together, working together, rather than hating each other and losing on potential dollars. He says he'll fight Corino anywhere. This is another good part of the tape.

Hart says something Punk will never get that Corino did is that you gotta always make money, whether it be off real life heat or internet heat. He said Punk will never get that.

Hart talks about his MLW matches. He said he enjoyed them, but they could be better. He called the MLW crowds the drizzlin shits, and that MLW was nothing like ROH.

Hart says that some of his favorite wrestlers are Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, AJ Styles and Chris Benoit.

On the screwjob, Hart said he likes all three people. He says he'd take Bret's side if forced because he was family and because he knows Bret is a good person.

Hart talks about internet fans again. He challenges any fan to come up to his face and say that Teddy is not injured when Teddy is injured. (Referring to the TNA incident with Aguila) He says he hates how some smarks think they are better than the business. Then again, if it wasn't for the smarks, he wouldn't be paid to do a shoot interview...

Hart closes the interview by challenging Corino to a match in the RF offices. This is where I guess the rumor for the empty arena match took place. Before ending the interview officially, Teddy gives his catchphrases, which he admitted earlier on the tape that he took from old Hart family members and modified them.

Teddy Hart vs TJ Wilson from ROH on 9/20/03 is also featured.

Final McWord
Teddy is young, so this interview couldn't really be as long as others. Like I said above, alot of stuff wasn't talked about because the interview took place on 2/27. The big things was Teddy shooting on Corino, Punk and the 11/1 incidents. CZW was mentioned, but this was before Hart made his debut.

Hart comes off very convincing in his statements and he does come off as caring alot about wrestling fans. He also comes off as very religious as he brings up his faith several times.

I enjoyed the interview, even though it does come off dated and it leaves you wanting more.

Overall-
Worth picking up if you're a ROH fan or Teddy Hart fan. If you're looking to learn about Teddy's early life, then this tape is definitely worth it. This tape was very entertaining, and it certainly leaves alot of room for a part 2. It's also pretty cool hearing Teddy slip in and out of his Canadian accent.
