RING OF HONOR
What up everyone and welcome to another McTape Review. This time I will be recapping and running down ROH's 1/10 show from Wilmington Ohio, called "The Battle Lines Are Drawn." This was the first show after what was considered the biggest show in ROH history, Final Battle on 12/27. Would ROH be able to follow up that show? Find out by reading on.

ROH
Wilmington, Ohio
Approx Attendance: Too hard to figure out from the tape, but I heard it was around 550 at the time.
Referees: Hanson, Turner, Moorer.

The tape starts off with a Chris Daniels promo. Daniels is with the Prophecy - Danny Maff, Allison Danger and new member, BJ Whitmer. Daniels talks about Samoa Joe. Daniels talks about his plan against Second City Saints. Daniels says the Second City Saints are one member shorter. Whitmer says "What a plan you came up with." Maff shakes his head at Whitmer, because Maff was mad that he swore on his father that he had no involvement. Either that, or Whitmers statement came out so dry and dull that Maff shook his head in frustration. Daniels then runs down the Second City Saints. Daniels says after wiping out the Second City Saints, tonight, in the main event, they will make their way towards all the gold in ROH.

We then go over to Samoa Joe who is hosting his "In The Ring" segment. Joe says today we'll learn about the abdominal stretch. Joe gives some random guy an abdominal stretch. American Dragon walks in the ring. Dragon grabs a student and shows Joe how to do a better version of the abdominal strech in the ring. Joe says he puts him in that way because it sets him up for more moves and goes into a sideheadlock into a figure four onto the arm of his opponent. Dragon shows Joe a better way to do this. Joe then goes to show Dragon a different way to do it. Dragon then upstages him, with a nice combo. Joe gets up in Dragon's face and says he better be on the same page tonight when they challenge the Briscoes for the tag belts. Dragon and Joe agree on winning the tag belts tonight. Dragon says he wants Joe's title belt. Joe says tonight it's all about the tag belts and asks Dragon to shake his hand on it. Dragon says he won't shake his hand until before his world title fight and after his world title fight. Good segment.

We then move onto the wrestling part of the show with Chris Lovy and former NWA Florida tag team champion, Chris Nelson as the commentators.

In a 3 Rope Break Match
Matt Stryker d. Alex Shelley
This was a pretty good match, and one of Strykers finer matches in ROH, in my opinion. This was the first ever match that had the three rope break rules. Pretty much, after you use the ropes three times to break a submission hold or pin, you're not allowed to use the ropes anymore. Shelley put Stryker in a walking abdominal stretch early on. Nice move. Stryker walks over and grabs the ropes for Strykers first rope break. Stryker then rebounded and hit two nice armdrags and a spinebuster for 2. Stryker then put Shelley in an armbar, which Shelley broke by using up his first rope break. The announcers do a good job of selling the power and the meaning of the rope break. After some more grappling, Shelley put Stryker in a full nelson leg lock, but Stryker switched out of it, into a face lock, but Shelley reversed that into a hammerlock, which Stryker then reversed into a headlock! Whew! Shelley then got up and hit a great dropkick followed up with a hurrannacaranna. Stryker and Shelley then traded some 2 counts. Both men were near the ropes and again the announcers sell the importance of the rope. Instead of just grabbing the ropes, the wrestlers would do whatever they could to kick out, so they wouldn't waste their 3 rope breaks. Stryker hit a nice powerslam on Shelley, for what looked like 3, but at the last second, Shelley grabbed the rope. Stryker then crotched Shelley on the top rope, and then Stryker hit a top rope dragon screw. Stryker then put Shelley in a Brocklock, but Shelley powered out of it. Stryker then did some leg submissions, by twisting Shelley's legs in all diffferent ways. He then put Shelley in an Indian deathlock. Stryker and Shelley then traded forearms and chops, and Stryker let go of the hold. Stryker then put Shelley in an anklelock, but shelley powered out of it. Stryker went to go work on Shelley's leg some more, but Shelley enziguried out of it. Stryker got back up and kept going for the leg, but Shelley again reversed it by hitting a neckbreaker. Shelley then hit this nice combo of a neckbreaker, into a neckbreaker submission. During all of this, Shelley was still hobbling around the ring on one leg. After a submission move in the ropes which was called illegal by the announcers, Stryker used his second rope break. Shelley then stupidly went to the top rope, with an injured leg, and fell straight down into a tree of woe. Stryker then went to give Shelley another Strykerlock, and Shelley uses the rope for the third time of the night. After more grappling, Stryker put Shelley into another Strykerlock. Shelley went to the ropes again, but for naught, as he used his three rope breaks. With no other option, Shelley taps out giving Stryker the win. This was alot better than the live matches I've seen Stryker in.

For the HWA Championship
(c)Nigel McGuiness d. Cody Hawk
Hawk looks like an older Barry Windham. Hawk went to work with some clubbing blows, but Nigel hit some strikes of his own. Nigel and Hawk then did some reversals. Alot of this match was just a bunch of strikes. This wasn't Low Ki vs Joe strikes though, so I didn't really get into it. Nigel hit a clothesline over the top rope, Cactus Jack style. Nigel then worked Cody on the floor, by throwing him into the ring post a few times. Cody then grabbed Nigel and pulled him into the ring post about 6 times. At one point, Nigels head cracked the post. Both men worked their way to the top rope. Nigel, whose head hit the steel, then ate some big headbutts, busting himself above the left eye. Lots of blood. Hawk then hit a muscle buster on Nigel for a 2. Cody then hit an electric chair drop on Nigel for another 2. Cody then hit a piledriver for another 2. Nigel then put Cody in some weird leg combination pin for only a 2. After a cradle piledriver for 2 by Cody, Nigel put Cody in another pinning combination for 3. This match picked up at the end due to Nigels blood. I don't think Hawk will be brought back as this wasn't really an "ROH style" performance.

"Great Times Better Memories" was up next.
Colt Cabana is hilarious. He's wearing his tuxedo shirt. He teases CM Punk to be on the show yet again. Colt then brings out his guest for this tape, Ace Steele. Steele talks about winning a bowling championship against his mom. Colt Cabana says, "I heard about that!" Funny shit. Cabana then has a little boy bring out the Bowling Trophy. Cabana is asking about RF's whereabouts. Cabana asks the little boy where is RF. Oh man, talk about bad timing, I'll let someone else make the joke here. Steele and Colt then talk about their achievements, including Colt winning a hopscotch championship in Las Vegas against a retarded midget. Cabana definitely has "it." CM Punk then runs out. He says ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Cabana is like no I really won. Hysterical. CM Punk runs down these two members of his second city saints. Punk is with Tracy Brooks. Punk puts over the seriousness of The Prophecy feud that will be fought later tonight. Punk wants Cabana and Steele to be serious and wants the craziness to stop. Punk wants his real trainer back, not the goofball tongiht. Punk really does a great job of selling the main event tonight. Cabana tells Colt to knock off the show, and get ready to kick ass tonight. Cabana and Steele look at each other, and Cabana mumbles, "He ruined my talk show." Great segment.

Chris Sabin d. Jimmy Jacobs
These guys had a feeling out process early with some armbars and counters. Jacobs then choped Sabin, and both then traded some near falls. The Jimmy Jacobs character is tough to crack. I know most fans either love him or hate him, but I'm impartial. I think he's a good wrestler in a wack gimmick that isn't needed. Jacobs was busted in the mouth early, but still continued and put Sabin in a camel huss clutch. After some reversals, Sabin hit a big top rope dropkick onto Jacobs, which sent Jacobs to the floor. Sabin then threw Jacobs head first in the guard rail/panel. The crowd was clearly behind Sabin in this match. Sabin then laid on top of Sabin in a very gay manner, but turned into in a submission. Hard to really get into that move unless your name is Mace or Buff-E. Jacobs then threw some forearms and clotheslines for 2. Sabin hit a nice swinging bodyslam into a backbreaker. Jacobs then hit a top rope hurranacaranna followed by a face slam. That only got Jacobs a 2. Jacobs then went for a top rope spear, but Sabin caught him and gave him a brainbuster. Wow. Jacobs then wnet for a huge top rope senton, but Sabin put his knees into Jacobs back. Sabin then hit a german suplex with a bridge, but only got 2. Jacobs then had Sabin crotched on the ropes, and Jacobs hit a running boot to the head. Sabin then hit a top rope DVD into an edgeomatic on Jacobs for the big pinfall. Levy lets us know that it was Dangerous! Nice move. Match was good, but Jacobs does some silly things in the ring as per his character, which sometimes takes away from the match. By winning this match, Sabin got himself into the 2/14 Pure Wrestling Tournament.

Four Corner Match
Jimmy Rave d. Caprice Coleman, Rain Man and Todd Sexton.
This was definitely not one of the better four ways in ROH, but it was fun to watch. It is tough to one up Homicide, Jay Briscoe, BJ Whitmer or Joe, who've made the four way corner match in ROH successful. Rainman looks too much like a taller version of Homicide. Caprice has a good look. Rave hit a nice top rope plancha on Rainman. Sexton then hit a nice neckbreaker on Rave on the middle rope. Caprice then hit Sexton with a some kicks and forearms. Rave then got in and ate a big piledriver for his trouble. Rainman then hit a beautiful top rope elbow on Rave. Rainman then hit a spinning backdrop for 2. Rave and Rain man tagged out, which led to Sexton putting Caprice in a figure four leg lock. Caprice reversed it. Rain Man and Rave then put Caprice and Sexton in a camel clutch and neck submission respectively. We then moved to the floor, which saw Rain Man hit a big suicide tope dive. Coleman then hit a springboard splash into all 4 men. Rave then went to hit a big move, but Sexton cut him off with a bigtime superkick. Coleman breaks up the pin and diamondcuts Sexton. Rainman and Carpice then battle, with Rain Man getting the upperhand. Rave then hit a suplex on Rain Man for 2. Sexton comes to get Rave, and ddt's him, but he only gets 2. Rain man then hits an assbreaker on Sexton. Very innotive. Coleman hits an overhead pilediver on Rain Man but it gets broken up by Rave. Rave then dumps Coleman out of the ring. Rave hits a quick shining wizard on Sexton for the pin. Match picked up alot at the end. Looks like Rave winning will start something big.
POSTMATCH: Jimmy Rave walks to the back. He gets cut off by AJ Styles. AJ says get ready. Rave says get ready for what? AJ says me.

AJ Styles d. Homicide
Great fucking paw match. Both men furiously started off the match with fast armdrags. Homicide then went for a copkilla, but AJ muscled out. AJ then went for a Stlyes Clash but Homicide wiggles out. The energy of the match fused over into the crowd as the crowd was wildin out. Homicide then got into the ring, and both slowed down a bit. AJ put Homicide in a version of an armbar submission. Homicide got out, and put AJ in a sideheadlock. Homicide then gets into it with someone from the crowd. AJ just watches Homicide stare down the fan. If you saw the Homicide shoot interview, you know you don't fuck with Homicide lol. Homicide and AJ then got back into it, and Homicide put AJ into a head scissor. AJ tried to bridge it out into a pinfall. AJ then grabs the ropes for the break. Homicide then goes back to the side headlock, but gets thrown to the ropes and eats an AJ dropkick. AJ and Homicide then do more leg and armbar submissions. AJ then hit a back suplex on Homicide. The match then went to the outside. Homicide then chopped him on the outside. Homicide ran at him, then AJ leapfrogged Homicide and Homicide ran into the guardrail. Both guys then brawled on the outside. Both came in the ring, AJ then hit a slam and a knee drop. Homicide then got up and hit a big ass drop kick, sending AJ half way across the ring. Homicide then gave some boots to AJ's face, then followed it up with a big knee to the head. Homicide then hit a huge ass gut wrench suplex from the top rope. HOmicide then went for a superplex, but AJ bumped Homicide off and hit a bodysplash for 2. Homicide then got up and hit a diamond cutter for 2. It seems that the diamond cutter is one of Homicide's new moves in his arsenal. After more battling, AJ hit a neck/back breaker move on Homicide. AJ then hit a pumphandle backbreaker. AJ then put Homicide in an abdominal stretch, the third version on this tape. Homicide got out and hit a Tazplex for 2. AJ then got up and hit a stungun on Homicide, and followed it up with a big kick to the ribs of Homicide. AJ and Homicide then did this reversal sequence, with Homicide getting the best of AJ. AJ then was on the floor, and Homicide hit his running cannonball from the ring to the floor. Homicide hit AJ, then flipped into the 6th row. Homicide looked out of it. ROH officials and crew then surrounded Homicide. Homicide said keep the match going. It looked like he hurt his right shoulder and arm. Homicide wrestled the rest of the match with a bad right shoulder, and you can see him try to bring feeling back into it. Homicide then went for a pin on the downed AJ, but got 2. Homicide then hit some left chops on AJ. Styles then hit powed out of it, and hit a ribbreaker for 2. Homicide then went for a copkilla, but had it reversed. He then lowblowed AJ and hit a piledriver for 2. Homicide then went for a top rope headbutt but ate the mat. AJ then laid Homicide out with a lariat for 2. After some quick action, Homicide hit a mafia kick on AJ. Both men then tradeded fore arms. AJ then hit a styles clash for the win. Excellent match and both guys worked really hard and it showed. The crowd gave this match a standing ovation.

Cut to the back with Les Thatcher. Hmmm I guess GMC was telling someone he used to announce for WCW instead of taking his intermission interviewer spot. Les is with the Carnage Crew. Devito then cut a ripping promo on Special K. Loc ran down Special K. The regular working guys gimmick came off better on this tape then it did on the ohter one I reviewed.

4 vs 4 Tag Scramble
Special K (Hydro/Slim J/Dixie) and Joey Matthews d. Dunn and Marcos/Carnage Crew
ROH calls Joey Matthews just Joey, and didn't acknowledge his career as Joey Matthews. Joey and Marcos satarted things off with some fast paced action. Marcos hit some big armdrags on Joey. Dunn then put Joey in a pinning combo for a 2. After some wrestling, this match morphed into a melee. Devito fucked up SLim J hard and threw him out of the ring. Dunn got in there with Dixie and hit some good moves. Carnage Crew then fucked up Slim J, and Dunn and Marcos joined the fracas with some nice submissions. Everyone then brawled all over the place. Dunn and Marcos then went to the top rope, and hit a huge double stage dive, laying out everyone. Big Holy Shit spot there. Slim J then went to the top and hit a corkscrew plancha on everyone. These matches are alot better to watch then review, as there is so much going on at once. Nothing is crazier than an ROH scramble. Joey and Devito then got in the ring and hit a Raven droptoehold on a chair. This busted open Devito. Meanwhile Loc had Dixie busted open. Joey then hit a big time face breaker on Marcos for 2. So much was going on at once and everyone was getting their ass kicked. Just a wild match. There were moves hit in this match that were impossible to call. Dunn hit a wicked gory bomb on Slim J. Devito's face looked like someone pissed Ketchup all over him. After alot of big moves and 2 counts, The Carnage Crew lay out Dixie with a double powerbomb. All of a sudden, Abyss from NWA TNA comes out and lays outs Loc with a big backbreaker. Slim J then covers Loc and gets the cover for 3.
Fun match to watch. Abyss hasn't come back to ROH, so I think this angle has been dropped.
POSTMATCH: Abyss wipes out Dunn/Marcos and Carnage Crew. Abyss is a monster of a man, and after watching this, I'd like to see more of his TNA work. Special K then celebrate, and Dixie says that Abyss is Special K's new security policy. I wonder if they got a 401 K too?

For the ROH Tag Team Titles
The Briscoe Brothers (Mark and Jay) d. ROH Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe/American Dragon
This was Joe's second shot at the tag belts, after unsuccessfully wrestling The Briscoes on the 11/28 show. This was a really good tag team match, similiar to the 11/28 tag match. Dragon is one of the best wrestlers in the world today. The way Dragon just stretches people and tweaks their body in different ways is just mind boggling. Dragon did that against Jay. Mark then got in there with Joe, and Joe used the abdominal stretch that Dragon did in the previous part of the show! The booking of ROH is so intricate and down to every detail that you don't notice things unless you really look for it. Things just flow. Joe then strikes Mark in the face while in a camel clutch submission. This Joe-Briscoes feud has produced some great fucking matches. Joe then put Mark in a headscissors, but Mark got out. Joe then did the headbutts to the hand of Mark. brutal. Dragon then got in the ring and European uppercutted Mark. Jay then tagged in and started working on Dragon. The Briscoes then did an irishwhip dropkick combo spot. Drgaon regained his compusre and started working on Mark's left hand some more. Joe got back in there and continued on Marks left hand. I know its customary to work on the left side of the body, but if the guy is righty does it really make that much of a difference? After seeing a righty Homicide get downed on the right side of his body, it shows how much of a difference it is, when your preference (righty/lefty) is hurt. If you're not a lefty, what's the point of working the left hand? Like I said, I know it's what's taught, but when you work the right side on a righty, it really stands out that much more, as in the AJ and Homicide match. Anyway back to the match, Joe kept going on Mark Briscoe, with some big kicks and more s trikes. Dragon then got in the ring, and for some odd reason, threw Mark into the corner where Jay was standing so he could make the tag. That's what happens with some singles wrestlers, as he didn't cut off the ring like a regular tag team wrestler. Dragon then hit an airplane spin on the Briscoe, then followed it up with a top rope headbutt. Dragon then went on fire, and gave the Briscoes 2 European uppercuts each. The Briscoes rebound, and hit a built up Doomsday Device for 2 on Dragon. Mark then put the boots to a laid out Dragon. Jay then got in the ring and stepped on Dragons neck. Jay Briscoe has Future ROH Heavyweight Champion written all over him. I can see Mark with the Pure title too. Mark then opened up a bit on Dragon with some boston crabs. The Briscoes then hit their backbreaker/legdrop combo on Dragon. Dragon finally gets some offense off with a clotheseline, and tags in Joe. Joe then started kickinga ss. Joe hit some strikes, a rock bottom and an ole kick on the Birscoes. Joe then hit his powerbomb/stf combo on Mark. Is it me, or does Mark always take these Joe beatings over Jay in these tag matches? Joe then put Mark in the rolling cradle for 2. Joe then went to choke out Mark, but Jay broke it up. Dragon then put Mark in the cattle mutilation, but Jay broke it up. Jay finally tags in. They go for a version of doomsday device, but this time Dragon reverses it and gets a 2 count on Jay. Dragon then hit a dragon suplex on Jay, but Mark breaks it up. Joe then wipes out Mark Briscoe with the ole kicks. In the ring, Dragon back dropped Jay from the top rope for 2. The crowd was really feeling it at this part of the match. Joe then ole kicked Mark again. Jay in the ring, hits a yakuza kick on American Dragon, and then picks him up and gives him the Jay Driller for the pin. The announcers say that Joe should've been paying attention in the ring.
Great fucking match. What else more can I say, The Briscoes are the best tag team in the United States today.
POSTMATCH: Joe is pissed that Dragon got pinned. The Briscoes are both wiped out, trying to regain their breath. Handshakes are traded off. Joe looks on furiously.

The Second City Saints (CM Punk/Ace Steele/Colt Cabana) w/Tracy Brooks vs The Prophecy (Chris Daniels/BJ Whitmer/Danny Maff) w/Allison Danger went to a no contest
Holy fucking shit. Only profanity can really describe how fucking great this match was. This was about 40 minutes or so of a feud finally coming head to head, with rematches definitely being set up. I thought no match would be able to top Homicide/Styles, but this match sells the fucking show. Going play by play on this match gives this match no justice. Christopher Daniels is the best independent wrestler today. CM Punk is the complete package of wrestling. These guys going head to head with their respective groups was just huge. The match started off with a showdown between all 6 guys. The ROH ring is 1/2 red, 1/2 black, and the Prophecy stayed in the red side, with the SCS staying on the black side. Cool visual. They even played off the color of the ring, with CM Punk moving Daniels foot of his color of the ring. Daniels and Punk started this match off. Punk then, to infuriate the crowd, tags in Ace Steele. That is called being the best fucking heel today. Steele and Daniels then got in the ring, and Steele put Daniels in a side headlock. We then see Punk take some cheap shots, which brings the Prophecy in the ring. Ref Turner puts everyone back in their place. Turner definitely had alot on his plate. The Prophecy get the upperhand on SCS early on, as Daniels wipes out Punk with a lariat, then wipes all three of them out with a splash on the outside. This match then breaks loose and it goes on the outside. Steele/Daniels then got in the ring, as Maff/Whitmer destroyed Cabana/Punk on the outside. Daniels then put Steele in a 20 second stall suplex, but Steele got out, and hit the ropes, but Daniels hit a side kick to stop that momentum. Punk eventually got tagged in and got paired off with Maff. He gave Maff some kicks to the face. Maff then tagged out, and it was on between Daniels and Punk. Punk quickly tagged out. Cabana then got into it with Daniels, and started dancing, even after Punk yelling at him before to take it serious. Punk then got in the ring with a fallen Daniels, and hit a butterfly suplex, and a quick dropkick to the Fallen Angel. Punk clotheslined Maff over the top rope, leaving Maff alone with the other SCS members, who went to work on Maff. Maff got thrown into the post, and he was bloodied in the face. SCS then work on Maff, as Maff is a bloody mess. Cabana then got in there and himself and Punk put Maff in a submission, as Steel bounced off the ropes with 2 feet in the face. Maff finally found some strength though, and cannonballed Punk. Maff then went for the tag, but was in the wrong corner, so he got wiped out by Cabana. Meanwhile, the SCS distract the ref, and Maff somehow tags Daniels but the ref didn't see it. Great old school element. Danny Maff in this match didn't look like the same Danny Maff from JAPW, as he really took a beating in this match. Maff really took a beating in this one. Mafia/Danny Maff has made such progress from Da Hit Squad days, and keep in mind that the DHS were the best indy tag team maybe of all time. Maff has star written all over him. Maff finally got more offense off, and clotheslined Punk down. BOth men were squirming to their corners and the crowd went fucking insane. Maff makes the hot tag to Daniels, and Chris starts going apeshit. Daniels lays out all three members of the SCS. We then see alot of brawling, and Cabana asai moonsaults Whitmer. Maff then hits a suicide dive on Punk. Incredible. Steele then hits a suicide dive on Whitmer. Punk then hits a springboard splash on Whitmer/Maff. Daniels then hits an Arabian Press on Punk/Steele. Chris Daniels was definitely the fan favorite in this match. Daniels hits an STO on Cabana, but only gets 2. Cabana then throws Daniels in a wicked ddt for 2. We then see big move city all for 2 counts. Wild shit. Lots of false finishes. Punk then hit a mulekick/enzuigri/ddt all in a matter of 5 seconds on Maff fo 2. Everyone was wiped out besides Punk and Daniels. Daniels then hit a rock bottom on Punk. Daniels then hit the Best Moon Sault Ever on Punk for 2. Punk and Daniels then collide with each other and everyone was out. Allison Danger and Tracy Brooks then got in the ring. These 2 go after each other. Allison gets the better of Tracy, but Punk grabs Allison off of her and chokes her. BJ Whitmer goes to chair shot Punk, but Punk gets out of the way, and Punk hits Ref Paul Turner with the Chair. Whitmer looks on, and Punk just superkicks the chair into his fucking face. The match is all over the place now, and everyone is just fucking fighting like a bunch of drunkards in an Irish pub. Daniels looked like he had Punk pinnd, but Ref Turner was laid out. Referee Hanson runs out, and calls for a no contest. You suck Hanson!
POSTMATCH: Hanson may have called for no contest, but the match continued. All 6 continued to fight. The guys then started to brawl all over the building. Lots of big strikes got hit. The fighting spilt into the crowd. With all the guys on the outside fighting, Tracy Brooks chokes out Allison in the ring with her shirt. Whitmer then hits the exploder on Tracy Brooks! Holy shit! Lots of jiggle on that exploder. All of a sudden Lucy comes out! She slaps Whitmer in the face, and Steele lays out Whitmer. Cabana/Punk hit a blockbuster on Whitmer. Danny Maff then comes in and breaks a chair over everyones head. The SCS rebound and beat up Maff on the outside. Punk and Steele lift up the guardrail and break it over Maffs head! Holy fucking shit! We go back into the ring and the Prophecy grab Chris Daniels, and Punk hits the Pepsi Plunge through a table, immobilizing Chris Daniels. Daniels doesn't move after taking the plunge. Punk laughs like a deranged lunatic as the live show closes.

Overall on this whole match: The brawl at the end was nuts and was better than the match, as it was just 6 men and 3 women killing each other. This was insane. POST SHOW PROMOS:
Cut to Alex Shelley. He says that 2004 will be his year in ROH. He says its his time.

We go back to the ring, where all the fans have left. ROH officials and The Prophecy are trying to safely put Daniels on a stretcher. If this is how ROH handles injuries, then I'd be hesitant to work in an ROH ring if I was a wrestler. No paramedics? I didn't know the Ring Crew Express had a doctor degree lol

We go to Special K who are celebrating with Abyss. Abyss has two fine women with him.

Again back to the ring, where Daniels is still immobile. Danger wants help for Daniels.

We then go to The Second City Saints. Punk cuts a great promo detailing everything out. He puts over his group and talks about Lucy returning to the scene of the crime. Punk says there are casualties in war, and Daniels was the first. He says Daniels is eating some cold revenge.

We see Daniels finally getting stretchered out.

Danny Maff cuts a promo. If Maffs ring work has improved since Da Hit Squad, his promo skills have doubled in talent. The guy cuts a mean promo. Maff says Whitmer dropped the ball by letting Lucy fuck him up. Maff then vows revenge on The Second City Saints. Great promo.

Final McWord
Whooooooooo, this was a story not a wrestling show lol. In the beginning of ROH I openly criticized their lack of storylines and promos. Look no further than any of their recent tapes and ROH has made leaps and bounds in that department. ROH has went from a wrestling ONLY promotion, to a well rounded promotion that gives something for everyone. I don't find ROH one dimensional, and I think the product offers something to any type of wrestling fan. There is so much going on in ROH right now that it leaves the fans wanting more. The fueds in ROH have really been built up well and have translated great on the live shows as well as the tapes.

As for this show, I thought this was a great tape. The main event really came off as an epic battle. The Homicide/AJ match really came out well. ROH is on a roll and it's hard to find faults in the product as they've done a solid job of presenting themselves. The only thing I really didn't care for was the McGuiness/Hawk match.

The Briscoe Brothers are the best tag team today, bar none. They are fucking amazing, and the punishment they take every match is something else.

While I don't think it's the best ROH tape, it is definitely a good one. Anyone who hasn't seen the main event should cop this tape right away. It is just the epitome of a great feud. If Homicide was the MVP of ROH in 2003, CM Punk was the runner up, and he looks like he will be the MVP of 2004.

To buy this tape go to:
http://www.rfvideo.com/merchant/index.cfm?action=moreinfo&id=8326
The cost is 20 bucks and easily worth it.

From someone who covers alot of wrestling, I'd pick up 2 ROH videos over 4 TNA weeks anyday. There is no one right now in the United States doing wrestling like ROH is doing today, and the main event on this tape proves that.

I'm out. Look for a buttload more reviews, interviews and more here on the DOI site.
