The beginning of this tape is informative and Jacques shows alot of character in all of this, but to be honest, the meat of this shoot, and the part where you will just mark out listening to, is when Jacques talks about his infamous fight with The Dynamite Kid. I'll give you the abridged version, because you have to hear Jacques say it himself to really understand and feel the passion behind it.

The whole fight started during a WWF House Show tour. On the last day of a 27 day tour, in Syracuse, NY, there were two tag team matches booked for a normal house show. The Bulldogs, being the veterans, were on during the third match, and The Rogeaus were on during the eighth match, of a 9 match show. After this show, all the boys would go home for 5 days of rest. Being that Montreal is not too far from Syracuse, Jacques hoped to get out early, and squeeze in an extra night with his family. (During this shoot you get the feeling that Jacques is dedicated to his kids, just like Owen Hart.) Anyway, (this is the short version) Jacques noticed that he could catch a 9'oclock flight and could be home for the night, and have a good night sleep in his own bed. Jacques checked the Bulldogs schedule out, and the Bulldogs opponents, and realized that no matter what, The Bulldogs would still have to take a later flight to get back to Calgary. Jacques asked his good friend Pat Patterson if he could change the match listings, so that the Rogeaus could go on early. Pat, after hearing the reasoning and seeing that it was true that the match shake-up wouldn't affect any flights for The Bulldogs agreed. The Dynamite Kid got wind of this, and since he was such a "bully" as Jacques described him, and that Dynamite Kid was always pulling mean ribs (Jacques really tells some nasty ribs that Dynamite Kid did) Dynamite Kid was pissed. The whole night went as planned, with no problems. Jacques got to get home earlier than he thought. After 6 days, he flew to Miami for the beginning of a new tour. And that's where the problem started.

Jacques's family lives in Florida, so he had them all at the show in Miami. Keep that in mind. In the lockerroom, Jacques was playing cards with Mr. Perfect. Jacques never knew if Curt was involved in the rib. Jacques said he was sitting there, and all of a sudden, The Bulldogs, The Harts, Don Muraco, and Bad News Brown came into the room where he was at. Ray, Jacques's brother and tag partner, was there too, but was on crutches due to an injury. Ray was there just to make appearances. Anyway, before Jacques knew it, Dynamite Kid punched him in the face several times and Jacques was on the floor. No one dared to step up to Dynamite Kid, due to his reputation. Jacques's face was all messed up. Jacques said he was embarrassed and felt like his dignity was raped. He had to wrestle in front of his family that night.

After the show, Jacques said he didn't talk to his brother or his father. (His father also was a wrestler.) He said he was with his family for 3 days and didn't say a word. Finally, Jacques opened up and talked to Ray. He laid out a whole elaborate plan, and I stress that my words will not do it justice. You must get this tape to hear how methodical and how Jacques planned this all out. It's fucking incredible. Jacques told Ray his plan. For 7 days, after every show, Jacques would box in his hotel room with a pillow, with Ray screaming out what punches to throw. That is something to remember for later on. Meanwhile, in the locker room, every wrestler no-sold Jacques and wouldn't speak to him. Dino Bravo would speak to Ray, but not to Jacques until later on, as every wrestler was legit scared of being on the Bulldogs bad side. During this time, whenever Jacques saw Dynamite Kid, he would cower in fear and say "please don't hit me, please don't hit me." He asked Dynamite Kid for mercy. Dynamite Kid thought Jacques was scared of him, and Jacques was, but deep down Jacques was planning revenge.

Finally, Jacques set a date to fight Dynamite Kid. He was going to do it in Fort Wayne, Indiana, during a Monday show. Jacques called his father and told him his plan. His dad told him to get a roll of quarters, as Dynamite Kid was a tough ass guy, and Jacques needed any advantage possible. Jacques also said during this time, he didn't eat anything due to all the adrenaline in his body.

Monday finally came, and only Jacques and Ray knew what was going to happen. Jacques wanted to get the roll of quarters, so went to the bank at 10:00 am, even though he was supposed to be at the arena at 10:00 am. Jacques said he had a great repuation of being reliable, so this one time wouldn't hurt him. Jacques showed up at 11:00 am. Unbeknownst to him, Jacques missed a meeting where Vince McMahon told every wrestler that if anyone gets into anymore backstage fights, they'd be fired no matter what. The one time Jacques was late and he missed an important meeting. Missing the meeting would work out for Jacques, because he didn't know, and was going to be able to get his revenge. At 11:00, Jacques walked into the locker room that Dynamite Kid and his clique were in. Jacques pretended to be scared of Dynamite Kid. Dynamite Kid and his clique then went to go to the cafeteria. Jacques refused to eat, because he brought up the point that it's alot harder to fight on a full stomach. So Jacques waited. Meanwhile, he saw Vince, and Vince told him he wanted to talk to him about everything. Jacques then knew he had to hit Dynamite Kid soon or he would never get the chance. Jacques went to go talk to Vince, but Vince was with Hogan, and told Jacques to come back later. This worked out for Jacques.

The big moment. Jacques went to the cafeteria hallway, and waited for The Dynamite Kid to come out from eating his lunch. Ray was there as well. As Dynamite Kid walked up to Jacques, Jacques pretended to be scared. Then it happened. Jacques swung with all his might, with a roll of quarters in his hand from the bank, and cracked his fist on Dynamite Kid's face. Four teeth fell out of Dynamite Kid's mouth like a cartoon character biting a brick. Jacques thought it was all over. Jacques failed to realize that Dynamite Kid was going to fight back! Dynamite Kid charged him and grabbed his trunks. Jacques froze and didn't know what to do. Then, just like in the hotel room for the last 7 days, Ray screamed out left jab, right hook, and Jacques knocked The Dynamite Kid the fuck out.

After knocking The Dynamite Kid out, Jacques went to Vince's office. Jacques said he had to talk to Vince now. Vince said hold on, but then saw the blood on Jacques. Hogan and Savage, who were there, saw the blood, and bounced so Jacques could talk. Jacques told Vince what happened. The end result was that Vince escorted The Rogeaus to their car so no one could get revenge. Vince then told them to go to come back tomorrow. He wouldn't fire them because they didn't know what Vince said earlier, and because they were reliable and represented the company positively in the public eye. While Vince escorted them out, The Bulldogs went to the hospital.

Jacques then explains the whole aftermath of all this. No one would talk to him. The Bulldogs went to Europe for two weeks. Once they got back, they asked for their release after Survivor Series. During the final week of The Bulldog's run in the WWF, Jacques kept an eye out, and would always immediately leave the building. The final night he was in a match against them. Vince had a meeting with them and laid out all the spots with them. After the match, Jacques, in gear, left the Richmond Coliseum, and would never deal with The Dynamite Kid again.

Jacques talks more about this incident and gives way more details than I just did, but that is the gist of all of it. It's truly amazing and one of the best and most intricate stories I've ever heard on tape. It takes Jacques 40 minutes to explain and detail everything out. It is one of the most captivating things I've ever heard.

Jacques talks alot more in this shoot. There are so many big things he gets into, but it all gets overshadowed by The New Dynamite Kid incident. Jacques talks about Bret Hart. He calls Bret selfish and said Bret was a mark for himself and refused to do jobs to people various times. He liked Bret Hart the person, but hated Bret Hart the business man.

Jacques also talked about Hulk Hogan, and how Hogan let him pin him in Montreal. Jacques loved the moment, and always respected and appreciated Hogan. He was stunned that Hogan let him go over, but Hogan told Jacques, that the first match of the show is important. If the first match of the show sucks, then the crowd is dead by the time the main event hits. Hogan told Jacques that Jacques opened up for him so many times and had good matches, so by the time Hogan came out, in the WWF era, the crowd would be nuts. Hogan said this was a favor for Jacques. Jacques really gets emotional talking about this.

Jacques told many more stories in this shoot, including what it's like promoting shows today. He also talked about an unprofessional Hawk, and how Hawk crashed an expensive Harley Davidson motorcylce because he was drunk.

Final McWord
Wow, what a great shoot. Jacques got into so much, and aside from the first 10 minutes, there wasn't one dull moment. Jacques should really write a book, after hearing all these stories.

Jacques really came off good in this. He got into every story, and when asked about some stories, he would get emotional and nostalgic when talking about it.

Like I said above, the meat of this interview is the Jacques/Dynamite Kid fight. It was the first time this story was ever told in print or in film.

Overall- Pick this up right away. This is one of the best shoots I've ever seen. Any old school WWF fan would love this. You don't think Jacques would be a good interview, but he is one of the best interviews I've ever seen.
