Iron Sheik Shoot Interview McDVD Review

What's up everyone and welcome to another DVD McReview, here on the DOI. This time, I'll be looking at the extremely controversial Iron Sheik Shoot Interview, which was produced by RF Video. Before starting the review and running down what was said, here's a quick 5 minute preview for the shoot:

Also, here's the official preview, from RFVideo.com:

Outrageous
Controversial
Humbling

There are shoot interviews – and then there is this.

Olympic Gold Medalist
Bodyguard for the Shah of Iran
Shooter
Real Man
Former WWE World Champion
Hall of Famer

Once in a while a shoot interview comes along that is so special… so newsworthy… so incredible that it becomes the talk of the entire wrestling industry. RF VIDEO has been able to participate in several of these interviews including our groundbreaking shoots with Honky Tonk Man, Jim Cornette, Raven, and New Jack among others. Who could possibly forget Sabu finally breaking his silence in 2005? Now we are prepared to unveil a shoot that tops all the others. A shoot that will leave your jaw hanging on the floor while you slap your head in disbelief. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, RF VIDEO proudly presents…

THE IRON SHEIK 2007 Interview.

The definition for the word "insanity" isn't enough to describe what you will witness in this exclusive shoot interview that no one will ever be able to forget. Last year Sheik did a shoot interview, now he sits down with the masters of the shoot interview, RF VIDEO.  The Legendary WWE Hall of Famer the Iron Sheik shoots on everyone and everything imaginable in this two hour shoot interview. No one escapes the wrath of Sheiky. B Brian Blair, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Bill Watts, Dusty Rhodes, Jake "the Snake" Roberts, Chris Jericho, Jimmy Snuka, Bill Watts, Junkyard Dog, Dan Mirade (Dan Malone), and the Fabulous Moolah are just a sampling of the people who get a tongue lashing like you've never heard before. Hell, the RF VIDEO camera crew had two beer bottles thrown at them because Sheik became so livid during his rants! Trust us, you have NEVER seen anything like this before in the history of shoot interviews.

Sheik has had a wonderful career, and because of his unpredictable nature – well the public was beating down RF Video’s door to get him to do a shoot interview and have Sheik shoot on everyone.  We were not disappointed, and neither will you.

With that all said, here's the review:

The DVD opens up with a disclaimer. In all the years I've watched RF Video shoots, I don't ever remember seeing a disclaimer. Whether the shoot lives up to the hype or not, this opening disclaimer hypes you up a bit for this.

In our first segment after the disclaimer, we open up with Eric Simms hogging camera time and trying to get drugs for the Iron Sheik over a cell phone. Iron Sheik calls his drug dealer (crack), and tells the person to answer the phone because he's a Hall of Famer.

Eric Simms is doing anything he can do to hog up the camera, but it's funny. He's trying to get Sheik crack. When the drug dealer says he can't make it, Sheik flips out and starts screaming. Sheik screams he'll give $100 for crack and pot. Yes this is funny, but this is kinda sad that fans are going to see this. However, you don't get more of a SHOOT then this. This is real life Sheik, and not a skit for the DVD.

Sheik starts cursing that his drugs aren't there. Sheik says he's a survivor and that you never fuck with a legend. RF Video is just filming this and taking it all in.

Sheik is drinking during this. Sheik has a huge smile on his face as he shakes his beer and pounds down a Molson Ice. (Very good beer.)

Sheik talks about ESS Promotions to start the shoot interview part up. Sheik can't get the "ESS" promotions name right and calls it ESSSS promotions. "Been screwed by the rest, then get screwed by the best and call E-S-S". However, you know RF Video was happy Eric was in the room because Sheik definitely needs a handler. I don't know how Eric deals with Sheik on a professional level, as it is alot of work.

Sheik talks about being an Arab bodyguard. This then segueways into starting with Verne Gagne's AWA. Gagne is one of the few people Sheik likes, and puts him over. Sheik also respects Minnesota's wrestling history.

Sheik is just hilarious throughout this. Even in the opening 5 minutes after the drug deal, he can't get letters right (AWA, ESS) and forgets Rob Feinstein's name. Sheik isn't trying to be disrespectful, it's just the language barrier. Don't forget, Sheik might not speak perfect English, but he can speak another language fluently.

Sheik puts over his AAU medals. Sheik talks about wanting an expensive car when he saw Larry Hennig, Bob Heenan & Gagne driving Cadillacs. Sheik is in good spirits when talking about his wrestling coaches, the Olympics and being a tough wrestler.

Sheik talks about breaking into the business with Flair, Pantera, Brunzell and others in 1973, after his Olympic career. He talks about meeting Gagne for the first time.

Sheik says he trained Ric Flair and gets angry talking about it.

Sheik puts over Dick The Bruiser & The Crusher. He starts crying a bit when talking about them, but then goes right back into talking normally.

Sheik talks about being an Olympic champion again, and makes RF read his medal. RF reads his medal, but Sheik says RF is reading it wrong. Sheik says RF is an idiot and has Eric Simms read the medal on the tape. Sheik is very proud of this accomplishment, and talks about being authentic.

Sheik says he's the real all American and Hulk Hogan is hollywood bullshit.

Sheik says Eric Simms is his best friend and fucks up a plug for him. Eric starts plugging himself like a jackass.

Besides 5 different people, Sheik says Ricky Steamboat was his best student. He puts Steamboat over. Sheik says he kicked Steamboat's butt in training, and Steamboat would always come back for more.

Sheik says Gagne was the best promoter he ever worked for before his WWF days. He puts Gagne over huge.

Sheik starts crying again about Gagne's wife ,but then goes back talking like nothing happened.

Sheik gets emotional talking about AWA and throws a beer. Eric Simms gets Sheik another beer.

Sheik says he helped teach Bret Hart wrestling. Sheik says that Stu Hart was the best. That makes Stu the 200th guy on this shoot to be called the best.

Sheik talks about stretching the Harts in the dungeon. Sheik puts over Stu.

Sheik gets mad if anyone challenges that he trained Bret Hart.

Sheik talks about Don Owen's Portland Territory. Sheik says the only person who beat Ventura & Snuka in Portland was himself. It's funny how wrestlers talk about big wins, but when it comes to losing they are always doing a favor.

Sheik says he's the first person to ever take a Superfly leap off the top of the cage. Sheik says Snuka was the top draw at the time and one of the best. Sheik says Snuka is number 1 to him.

He says Snuka was the best and he's good, but in a shoot fight he'll beat the fuck out of him. This is great.

Sheik says he's the real shooter but loves Superfly. Sheik credits Snuka for getting him the boots with the curled up fronts.

Sheik says he could beat the fuck out of Snuka whenever he wants but he loves him. He says this a few more times too.

Sheik says he's wrestled everybody in Portland. Sheik runs down the list. Sheik's eyes are getting a bit glassy right now and forgetting names.

Sheik says Piper is his best friend. He then says he's a good friend. Sheik talks about doing drugs with Piper and Greg Valentine. Sheik smiles huge when talking about partying with Piper.

Sheik talks about Piper's cancer. He says Piper is the best. Sheik looks like he's gonna fall asleep, but wakes right up and starts screaming about his days in Charlotte with Piper. He then gets quiet and closes his eyes, and talks about all the drugs he did with Piper.

Sheik talks about being busted for drugs by the cops with Piper. He talks about all the drugs they had, and lists crack, coke, uppers, downers and A-Z on them. Sheik talks about paying off a cop to go away and how the bribe worked. Sheik says Piper is one of his best. Sheik talks more about his Piper love.

Sheik then talks about Backlund and puts him over as one of the best WWWF champs ever. Sheik tries plugging Simms again but can't remember "ESS".

Sheik talks about how Crazy Ivan called Simms gay. Sheik laughs and says maybe he is, but he's not. He says Eric knows who is the man and who is the real shooter. Sheik just starts cutting promos in the middle of his shoot. It's hilarious.

It's pretty funny that Sheik has to talk about Simms not being gay in this.

Sheik talks about being the only person to beat Backlund in a 6 year period. How did Vince run a locker room with Backlund & Sheik as his two top guys? Imagine trying that today, as both are very eccentric.

Sheik says Backlund didn't want to lose to Hogan, but wanted to lose to him. Sheik talks about his accomplishments again. Sheik says he loves Backlund forever.

Sheik says Hogan is a great character and calls him a fucking body builder. He calls Hogan the best but then says Hogan had to beat him to get it. Sheik gets angry during this, it's funny stuff.

Sheik talks about Bruno Sammartino and how he saved Bruno's life once.

Sheik says Bruno will back him up on his story about saving his life and calls Bruno the best. There's alot of wrestlers who are the best in this shoot.

Sheik talks about beating the fuck out of a football player.

Sheik says Bruno hasn't talked to his son David in 17 years. He says he loves them both and says Bruno is a good man. Sheik says Bruno outsold MSG more than any other wrestler.

Sheik says FUCK LARRY ZYBYSKO. He then says FUCK THE TED DIBIASE and throws a beer bottle.

Sheik looks tired. He is starting not to understand RF's questions and says he's only gonna talk later and says break time.

We return, and we're back with another drug deal. Simms calls a drug dealer for Sheik. Sheik calls the drug dealer a no-good piece of shit motherfucker. Sheik says he hates fake people.

Sheik calls the drug dealer and says he looking for drugs. He heels out the drug dealer for not being there, as he wants his medicine. The drug dealer asks Eric to pick up the drugs, but Simms says he's not putting it in his car. Simms wants the drug dealer to come to him. Sheik starts cursing out the drug dealer for not being there again.

Sheik screams again at the drug dealer and uses tons of profanity. Simms refuses to pick up the drugs so Sheik is pissed.

The drug dealer hangs up and Sheik demands that Simms calls back. Sheik wants to tell the dealer again that he's a no good piece of shit motherfucker. Simms is nervous about having drugs in his car, but doesn't he realize he's on video trying to set up a drug deal?

Sheik stops the shoot and says he wants drugs now. Sheik says he has no energy right now and won't do the interview. Sheik says he needs his medicine. Sheik says he wants his money but Eric says he has it. Sheik says give him his money and he'll keep talking. Simms doesn't want to give the money, becuase it will expose how much profit he made off Sheik to RF.

Sheik wants to know how much money is there, and Simms asks to turn the camera off. Simms doesn't care about doing drug deals on tape, but shows off his stereotypical jew-like behavior when it comes to the cash.

The shoot restarts, but Sheik is yawning throughout the whole thing. He looks extremely tired and does not want to be there.

Sheik is now stumbling over Terry Funk's name and says he was a good guy. Sheik then says Dusty Rhodes is a good guy but is falling asleep. He then calls Dusty a piece of shit and was a two faced liar and a bullshitter. Sheik looks completely tired, but is still able to call people motherfuckers.

Sheik talks about how he fucked Ivan Koloff's girlfriend, and how Ivan suckerpunched him. Sheik then says he beat the fucking shit out of Ivan after that sucker punch. He says he bit his neck. I've never seen that move in the Olympics. Sheik then says he didn't fuck her but she wanted to fuck him. Sheik now has one eye open during this point, and tells the story again.

The B. Brian Blair question is asked. Sheik calls him a fag and a no good piece of shit. Sheik uses a ton of profanity during this. It's too bad he's tired and not wired up. He says Blair sucked Hogan's dick and ass. He must have a big mouth to suck an ass. Maybe he has lips like Steve Tyler.

Sheik says Blair's wife left him becuase he was a punk. Sheik says he's a no good mother fucker, a fag and a cock sucker again. Sheik keeps cursing him out and using hte same words over again.

What you get from this is the only reason Sheik hates Blair is because Blair said he could beat up Sheik in a shoot. Sheik says he can beat the fuck out of him. He says he hates Blair for the rest of his life.

Sheik talks about his famous Boot Camp match in MSG w/Sgt. Slaughter. Sheik respects him. He says Slaughter is a 10 and Blair is a 0. He calls Blair "an asshair on the ass of Sgt. Slaughter." That's a new one.

Sheik talks about the drug/traffic bust with Duggan in the 80s. He says the reason they got pulled over was cause Duggan was drinking beer in the car. Sheik talks about all the coke and other drugs in the car at the time.

Sheik says the cop saw 3 roaches in the ashtray. He says the cop didn't know Duggan, but knew who Sheik was. He says the cop threatened to shoot him becuase the cop knew Sheik was a shooter. Sheik's eyes are now fully closed and he's rocking back and forth to try to stay awake.

Sheik says Duggan's father bailed them out, but their drug-bust story was on the World news. Sheik wasn't happy that this was aired publicly. Sheik said this incident being aired publicly led him to a 2 year suspension. Sheik says he was sent to rehab, but only quit for a month.

Sheik talks about how he was the passenger and Duggan was driving. Sheik talks about Vince's reaction to this situation.

Sheik says Tito Santana was a mexican and that's worth more than nothing.

Sheik talks about his alleged relationship with Wendi Richter.

Sheik tells a classic here about Fabulous Moolah & Greg Valentine. Sheik says Greg likes to smoke pot with him. He says Moolah doesn't like it. Moolah says she hates that shit in the car. Sheik then kicked her out of the car! Moolah was left stranded on the road.

Sheik says how he told her to get the fuck out of the car a few more times. Sheik says he never fucked Richter but liked her.

Sheik says Patterson was a good wrestler. Sheik says he liked him. He says Patterson might be a fag but he's a great ring pyschologist. Sheik says it doesn't matter if Patterson is a fag, because he loves him. Sheik talks about anal sex and says he would never do it with Patterson. Sheik is trying to put over Pat but makes him look a bit silly.

Sheik says Lawler is one of the best and number 1. Sheik says fuck Bill Watts but likes Ole Anderson.

Sheik says Watts is a bully and a piece of shit. He curses out Watts a few times and says he's a no good piece of shit motherfucker.

Sheik talks about the time Verne Gagne offered Sheik $100,000 to break Hogan's leg in the ring. He goes into detail. A good part here.

Sheik says he wouldn't cut off Vince's hand, and even tho his coach wanted him to break Hogan's leg, he was never going to do it.

Nikolai Volkoff is discussed. Sheik says he was a good partner, but that Volkoff is a son of a bitch. Sheik talks about how Volkoff fucked him over for $2. Sheik calls him a cheap jew from Russian and says he's a piece of shit.

Sheik says he's not gonna talk anymore, and turns the chair around. Sheik tells Eric to call the drug dealer again. Sheik refuses to talk. He has the chair turned around, it's funny.

Eric plays parent and tells Sheik he must continue the tape. Sheik wants drugs. However, after Eric told Sheik that he had to finish, Sheik plays nice, and says he loved the Junkyard Dog. Sheik tells some JYD stories. Sheik says he misses him but says he was a drug addict when he died.

Sheik says Randy Savage was a no good son of a bitch. Sheik is falling asleep again and starts rocking back and forth in his chair. Sheik moves closer to the camera and tells some Randy Savage stories. Sheik fires up and says Randy Savage used his medicine and never gave it back.

Sheik says he liked Davey Smith and how Davey sent him Xmas cards every year. He says Dynamite Kid was a piece of shit and fuck him.

Sheik is rocking in the chair again, and puts his face on top of the camera lens. Sheik plays word association and calls some people jabronis and no good pieces of shit.

Sheik talks about the David Schultz slapping John Stossel incident.

Sheik starts crying about the Von Erichs and WCCW. He says they are only one left. SHeik is now babbling as he's crying. Sheik says they were the best and he was their teacher. Sheik then stops crying and talks about Ox Baker's son out of nowhere. Sheik says he beat the fuck out of him. He says Ox's son was a pussy. Sheik then starts crying again while talking about the Von Erichs.

Sheik says fuck the Andre the Giant. Sheik is upset that Andre was a babyface and wouldn't sign autographs for fans. Sheik says he was "a piece of shit no good motherfucker french candian motherfucker faggot!"

Sheik wants another break. Sheik says he wants drugs now. He says he's not playing these games and wants his drugs now. Sheik then calls for a beer. Sheik talks about the business with RF, and says only Eric can book him. Sheik doesn't understand that the drug dealer doesn't want anything to do with him. Eric Simms gives out his phone number on the shoot, so for anyone looking to prank call Eric Simms, buy this shoot!

Sheik wants food now. It's funny how RF Video left the cameras rolling ofr this. You can see what Sheik is really like, as he doesn't know the camera is on.

Sheik starts yawning so RF asks a question. The shoot is back on!

Sheik talks about Sting & Luger and says he liked them.

Sheik talks about The Ultimate Warrior. This was filmed before the incident at the convention. He says he couldn't do his clubs. Sheik says he likes Mr. T., but doesn't call him number 1. How disappointing.

Sheik then goes into a black bag and is looking for something.RF stops asking questions, as Sheik takes out random documents and papers.

Sheik shows an old picture of him doing the Persian Clubs. He says Warrior can't do the clubs. He calls Warrior by his real name, and says Jim Hellwig a few times. Sheik says he loves the Ultimate Warrior. I am thinking that opinion has changed now.

Sheik doesn't know who Chris Jericho is. Sheik says Jericho is disrespectful for using "Ayatollah" as a way to describe him. At this point RF & Simms are misleading Sheik, as Jericho is alluding to his music career when he calls himself the ayatollah of rocknrolla. Sheik thinks based on what he's getting from RF & Simms that Jericho is doing an Arab gimmick. Sheik calls Jericho a fag and a motherfucker. He didn't even know who the guy was a minute ago. This is hysterical.

Sheik says fuck Saddam Hussein. Sheik tells Eric Simms to shut up.

Sheik cuts a promo on Saddam. He says he likes General Adnan but says he hates the leader of his country.

Sheik goes off on Jake Roberts and calls him a no good piece of shit motherfucker. Sheik tells a story about how he held Jake's cocaine for him in his balls, but when they got cross the border, Jake didn't give him much coke as Sheik would've liked. Sheik goes off on Jake and curses him out a few more times.

Sheik really woke up here to curse out Jake.

Simms is now cursing alot. Simms is cursing out agents. Sheik wants drugs. Simms is raising his voice at Sheik. This is odd. Simms is now parodying Sheik, but Sheik doesn't get it.

Simms is trying to get RF to restart the interview. He says RF Video is his good sponsors.

Sheik talks about MWF's Dan Miradi and curses him out. He says he's a piece of shit. He says Miradi fucked him over, and says he's a no good motherfucker peice of shit. Sheik says he'll never work there again. Sheik gives the finger to Dan. He says Simms is his agent. Simms puts himself on the tape. Simms is so obnoxious that after watching this you'll just want to slap him in the mouth.

Simms starts cutting promos on Dan Miradi. Simms wants MWF's website of Iron Sheik to be shut down. Simms is getting hard that he's on camera. You really just want to spit on your TV when you see him on it. Sheik can't do the ESS promotions tag line right. Obnoxious, but a tad humourous.

Simms says Sheik is working with Howard Stern soon. Eric buries Dan Miradi. Sheik buries Miradi more. I can't wait to hear what fans think about Simms cutting promos and plugging himself all over this thing. I know RF Video thought it was obnoxious but they think it will sell, and of course it will.

Sheik talks about how his ex-wife stole 18 grand from him. Sheik gets personal when talking about his wife. He says she broke his heart. He calls his ex wife a gold digger and a no good son of a bitch.

Sheik says he likes Shawn Michaels. Sheik says he, HBK & Steve Austin all did drugs together and did the A-Z together.

Sheik says he doesn't know John Cena.

Sheik yawns again. He says he understands the new generation, and that wrestling has evolved. This is the most intelligent thing Sheik has said so far. Sheik tells Eric to shut up as he's had enough of Eric interjecting. A VH1 reality show with Sheik & Simms would do monster ratings. SOmeone needs to get Sheik in the Surreal Life House.

Sheik brings up how the new generation won't be remembered as fondly as his generation was. That's pretty true.

Sheik talks about Nikolai again and calls him a jew son of a bitch.

Sheik talks about being detained at an airport because of who he is.

Sheik looks extremely tired and is borderline coherent. Sheik said the Sultan gimmick sucked and he was washed up.

Sheik loved being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Sheik puts over Vince McMahon. He says everyone in The McMahon family are number 1's.

Sheik says he misses everyone who's died from the business. Sheik starts crying again when talking about Hawk. He talks about doing drugs with Hawk.

Sheik doesn't understand RF's question of "Who would you like to wrestle that you never got to wrestle?" RF had to ask it 5 times, and Sheik doesn't answer it. However, Sheik says that Slaughter was his favorite to wrestle.

Sheik tells his fans that he loves them. He doesn't call them pieces of shit motherfuckers. Sheik puts himself over and thanks his fans. Sheik says he loves Freddie Blassie and starts crying again after being so happy that this interview was almost over. The interview ends with RF thanking the Sheik.

Final McWord
This was a crazy shoot interview. I can't believe they included the attempted drug deals on the DVD. You really get a feel of what Iron Sheik is all about. The stuff Sheik says is funny, but you don't know if you should feel bad for him.

The Eric Simms stuff is going to turn off people who don't know him, but knowing him you know what an eyesore he can be, so you learn to block it out.

This was an incredible DVD and worth watching. You'll be laughing your ass off as Sheik tells stories the way only the Sheik can. Hopefully one day RF Video can get Sheik, Honky Tonk Man & New Jack in a room together, because those 3 people have provided the best RF Video shoots ever.

Overall
Definitely worth picking up.
