Doghouse Pro Wrestling Compilation Tape

What up DOI fans, and welcome to a special McTape Review. I recieved this tape from the "King of CUM" himself, Low Life Louie Ramos. This is a Doghouse compilation tape, featuring some of the best matches that ever took place in the doghouse. Even though the Doghouse was only 20 minutes away, I never heard about it, and missed some of the classic matches and stories that my fellow DOI compadres have filled me in on. While I'll never have the honor of seeing the doghouse in its true form live, unless you count the recent Florida shows, it is an honor to be able to "McTape Review" some of the hidden classics and battles in wrestling history. I'd like to especially thank Low Life Louie for giving me this tape. I'd also like to thank the Doghouse wrestlers for killing themselves weekly and truly making an impact on wrestling today. Onto the review.

Real quick- I will be giving match results, and what I thought of the match, instead of move-by- move description. I don't want to ruin the whole match for anyone reading, who might be interested in the tape. I also included the dates from when these matches happened.

5-6-00 First Doghouse Heavyweight Title Ladder Match
(c)Homicide vs. Papadon w/John Shane
PREMATCH: John Shane cuts a promo on Homicide. This is before the red-jacket John Shane days, as he's baring a leather jacket. Weird seeing him not in his usual garb, after seeing him for so long with it.
This match was pretty brutal. I'm guessing this match is before Papadon's pre-Solution days, because his tights look like he bought them with the $30 he made raking leaves. This match had lots of brawling, coupled in with some mat wrestling. Homicide had a take-no-prisoner attitude in this one, as he threw the ladder at Papadon various times, and at one point just free falled dropped it on Papadon's chest. Papadon hit some good moves in this match, such as big ass splash from the top. The tape quality isn't like a RF tape or anything, so it's hard to pick up what John Shane is saying during the match. This match was freakin painful and both guys recieved alot of punishment. Papadon took the worse of it, and was the ladders bitch for most of the match. This was a great match, and a great ladder match and worth seeing. I believe this is one of Papadon's earlier stuff, and you can see he's really developed into something better since this match, which is saying something, because this match was great. Funny thing was Papadon missing one of his critically acclaimed suicide dives. Now he hits them with ease. That is just one example of the progression. Homicide also improved alot. There is no doubt, that Homicide is one of the best wrestlers today, and this match is just a scratch of what he is capable of today. Finish sees Homicide get a bigger ladder, after breaking Papadon through the first ladder. This is a fucking high rise ladder, as it had to be propped against the ceiling to stand. Very scary shit, as the ladder could've broke any minute. After alot of high flying action and submission wrestling, Homicide hits a wicked version of the Copkilla, nearly smashing Papadon's neck. Homicide climbs the ladder, grabs the belt and retains his championship.
WINNER: HOMICIDE

Chair Match
Wrecka w/Amanda Violet vs Low Life Louie Ramos (w/Extacy) PREMATCH: Louie cuts a promo and snaps on his manager, Extacy. He gives her the DVD. She leaves.
Notable in the crowd: JC The Damager. Speaking of which, where the fuck are you JC? Chairs + Louie = fucking nuts. Louie was as over in this match, as he is today at any USA PW show. This match actually featured Louie, actually you know, wrestle. While Louie is no Kurt Angle, he can wrestle when he wants to, as this match shows. I thought this was a good way to have a chair match, as both guys showed that they can wrestle when they want, before going apeshit with the chairs. This match was very strong style, and both men struck each other with fierce strikes and forearms. Both guys took crazy ass head shots with the chair. It's amazing after watching this, that either one of them can talk coherently. At one point of the match, Wrecka hit a fucking sweet ass spinning diamond cutter on the chair, but Louie kicked out and "Hulked Up." Louie then gave Wrecka the big boot, then followed it up with making love to Wrecka's head w/ith a chair. Louie then hit the legdrop, but only for a 2 count. If that ended the match, it would've been great, as the crowd was exploding for it. Both guys took such hard shots, that they had to get new steel chairs after breaking the original chairs. Wrecka sets up 4 chairs in the middle of the ring, and diamond cuts Louie through them for the finish. Great match by both guys. I thought this was one of the stronger matches I've ever seen Wrecka or Louie have. I think this match was even stronger than most of Louie's 2003 matches. While this match wasn't as hardcore or bloody, this match told one hell of a story. Definitely a match to show anyone who says Louie can't wrestle.
WINNER: Wrecka

2nd Ever Chair Match
For the Streetfight Title
J-Lover vs (c) Tower of Torture
J-Lover is decked out in JAPW gear, from a jacket to a shirt. J-Lover wasn't so hot in this. Funny part of the match was J-Lover punching Tower of Torture aka Laithon. Lover punched and to make the noise he slapped his own arm while punching. Pretty standard right? Of course, but don't make it blatantly obvious after you do it. That's right, after Lover punched Laithon, he rubbed his left arm after slapping it during the punch. The crowd even booed this lol. At least you'll get a chuckle out of it. It's funny, every single move, whether it be a kick, punch or something else, Lover would always wind up and slap his leg/arm to make the sound. I guess this is why this is one of his earlier matches lol. I thought Tower of Torture was slowed down by J-Lover in this one. Tower of Torture moved pretty smoothly for a big guy, as he must be easily over 6'5". He definitely moves better than Big Show or Albert. TOT is kind of like a Mike Awesome, as he's on the same agile level as Awesome. He sprung to the top rope with easy. TOT baldo bombed Lover through 6 chairs towards the end of the match. After some more slugging and chair shots, TOT missed J-Lover, and splashed 6 chairs. Lover then hit a really awesome jumping piledriver on a chair. Instead of going for the pinfall, Lover gets the mic and riles up the crowd. While yakking, Laithon gets up, takes a guitar from Lover, and splattered the guitar over Lover's head.
Match was forgettable and probably one of the weaker matches on the tape, but I don't think it was Laithon's skills that affected the match. Sad to see that Laithon isn't on more shows today.
WINNER: Tower Of Torture

Weapons Match
J-Train w/John Shane and Howse) vs Homicide
Howse is a fucking house. He looks like Biggie Smalls, the millionaire, the mansion lol. I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure this match was one of the many in the Homicide vs John Shane feud. It was funny watching J-Train and Homicide fucking kill each other in this one, when today, as Julius Smokes, J-Train is Homicide's corner man. He earned it. Like today, J-Train reeked of charisma and style. The guy is just entertaining. This match was just two guys killing each other while wrestling. A cool move that Homicide hit, was a huge splash from the top rope, while wearing a bullet proof vest. Never saw that before. This match had all types of weapons, from crutches, garbage cans, bats and more. Howse interfered a few times in this match. J-Train didn't fuck around either, and at one point, went to probe Homicide with a crutch! This match was fiercely contested, and after rewatching it for the third time, was just out of control. Imagine getting hit in the nuts with a fucking golf club. Ask Howse, as he suffered that pain. Homicide hit probably one of the most deadliest Cop Killas in his life, as J-Train landed directly on his head. This match would make ECW fans chant DPW! Homicide gets the win as J-Train is no longer able to continue after the Cop Killa. An excellent match. While it wasn't pure wrestling, it told a great story and was awesome. I respected both guys before, but I have more respect for them after seeing this, especially J-Train, as you never see him get a chance to work like this anymore.
WINNER: HOMICIDE

Kiss My Ass
Low Life Louie Ramos vs Donny Von Jovi w/Ricky Atlas
The gimmick of Donny Von Jovi, is probably as you expect it - for some that's good, and for some that's bad. After watching this, and other Louie matches, I gotta say that Louie is someone who can pull an entertaining, exciting and decent match with anyone. (SEE MOTIVATOR 9/26 USA PW) Donny was a good showman in this match and had the crowd on him. Even though I'm not down with Bonjovimania, Donny played the gimmick very well and does it better than others. For those who never have seen Donny, he wrestles a cruiserweight style, but can still brawl. From this tape alone, I've seen Louie do more wrestling then I ever have.Towards the end, Louie hits a huge splash from the middle rope, and follows it up with his DVD, but the ref is out. DVJ hits a superkick, but Louie gets up as Donny moons him. Louie beats the crap out of DVJ and hits his legdrop again. Finish sees a masked assailant attack Louie. He baldo bombs Louie, and Donny Von Jovi gets the pinfall. The guy sort of looks like Mace from the CSC, but due to a little bit of grainess on the tape, I can't tell. "Mace" inserts Louie's face into DVJ's ass. Not as good as the match with Wrecka, but still enjoyable.

No Holds Barred Tag Title Match
Rednecks From Hell vs (c) Solution
Smoked Out is your referee. Suffice to say, I don't think he'll be challenging Ref Garry for his job anytime soon. Wow, have the Solution improved. The Rednecks are the rednecks. This match was a brawl and featured alot of punching - something you don't see too much from the wrestling oriented Solution today. The Rednecks still got the similar style as they do today, but I haven't seen The Rednecks in a while, sans a few USA PW shows. I think ACW in CT, is the only place the Rednecks work fulltime. Havok hit a killer sit down powerbomb on Matt Lariat halfway through the match. It looked nice. The match really only took advantage of the no holds barred provision towards the end of the match. Finish sees Solution hit the Problem Solver for seemingly the win, but interference from Homicide breaks up the pin. Papadon takes care of Homicide, but as he turns around, he walks into a kitchen sink, courtesy of Matt Lariat, and gets pinned. This Solution, is not the Solution you see today.
WINNERS: Rednecks From Hell

Double Ring Streetfight Triple Title Unification Match
Havok vs Wrecka w/Amanda Violet vs J-Train w/Howse
All three guys had a title. It wasn't explained why, I'm figuring each had some sort of minor belt, which got unified in this. Your referee for this match, the only referee to have a book written by Joel Grayson, Ref Hanson. This was a unique triple threat match, as there were two rings. I could hear JR scream it now "ONE RING CAN'T CONTAIN THESE THREE HOSSES! HOSSES DAMN IT HOSSES!!!" I think J-Train might be able to make church seem exicting, as he carried this match charisma and fan wise. Havok looked out of his element in this type of match, but was able to look good with the natural brawler Wrecka and J-Train. This was a donnybrook so to speak, which seemed to favor Wrecka. Havok was like Muraco in this one, trying to instill just wrestling into this one. Ref Hanson is always great at finding the camera and had no problem finding the camera to let everyone know that a pin count only reached 2. That's solid refereeing. Thank god he got a haircut too. Weapons were brought into this match, after 10 minutes of wrestling, by Wrecak. Boards, tables and garbage cans were the weapons of choice, and each competitor got WALLOPED and KABONKED numerous times. This match was pretty good. At one point in the match, Havok would take turns going into either other ring and beat up J-Train in one ring, then go whip Wrecka in the other ring. J-Train threw a nasty stump piledriver on Havok, nearly ending the match. Havok rebounded, took care of J-Train, then hit a huge Samoan drop on Wrecka. It wouldn't be enough to hold Havok down, and Wrecka was able to chair Havok to eliminate Havok from the match. J-Train then went nuts on Wrecka, and this big fat 800 pound Howse came in, and splashed Wrecka twice. J-Train then beat the crap out of Wrecka with a chair. Finish sees J-Train go for the pin, only to be viciously attacked by Mace. Mace puts Wrecka on J-Train, and Wrecka wins the match to become the Streetfight champion. This match had the same finish as the Louie/DVJ match, but remember this is a compilation tape, so it's not like this all happened at one show.
WINNER: Wrecka

Table Match for the DPW Tag Titles
All Money Is Legal w/Amanda Violet vs (C)Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz w/T Money
This match was BNA or Before Negro's Afro. Like today, the DRS have one of the best ring entrances in wrestling. Both teams have vastly improved since this match. AMIL has great unique double team offense, while the DRS are gold at playing the cowardly heels. I thought this match was better than the last time these two fought in ICW, back in March 03. This match had the crowd on its feet alot. AMIL have more double team moves than Michael Jackson has boys underwear. I don't even have names for half the shit AMIL does, and it's worse today, as these guys are always trying new double team moves in their matches. This match got hardcore 5 minutes in, as chairs and outside fighting became prominent. A couple cool moves in this match were EC Negro double stomping a chair in Kash's face, AMIL double lightening kick KC Blade in the face and back, Kash double frankensteinering The DRS, and alot more. Really good tag team match. These two teams work very well with each other in this match and today. The end saw Wrecka interfere for the DRS, and Louie come in and intefere helping out AMIL. Louie puts Negro on a table, and Kaos X-factors KC Blade through EC Negro, crashing through the table, for the win. Excellent match. The finish was worth getting the tape for alone. I rewinded it 8 times lol.

8 Man Tag Team Warfare
Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz/Wrecka/Smoked Out w/Cynthia Fulle vs J-Train/Low Life Louie Ramos/ Boogalou/Homicide
Your referee in this 8 man broo ha ha is none other than Joel Grayson. Having one jew control all this madness is a tough task, but the Wizard got the job done. This was a great 8 man tag. The match featured the slick DRS dominate their opponents, until Homicide got in the ring. There was alot of freakin action in this one. All 8 guys hit their key big moves, with Homicide Cop Killa-ing Smoked Out for the victory.
WINNERS: Homicide/Boogalou/J-Train/Low Life Louie

Final McWord
Overall, an enjoyable tape, that anyone looking to find out about some of the top names in indy wrestling (Homicide, Julius Smokes, DRS, Solution, AMIL, Louie etc) should see. Who knew that Louie could wrestle? THis tape has some great examples of it. Watching this tape, then seeing these guys wrestle today, shows you how much alot of these guys improved. Alot of the matches featured schmoz finishes, but it was a best-of tape, and the matches were pretty good. The interference wasn't explained, eg the storylines going on, but it didn't matter. I've read on various message boards that people can't stand J-Train. Watch this tape, and you will find a whole newfound respect for him, and his abilities. The Papadon/Homicide match was really fucking good. The last match on this tape was really solid as well. As a matter of fact, the only things thatt might not be worthwhile are the TOT/J Lover match and the Solution/Rednecks match. But if you enjoy things that aren't supposed to be funny, such as J-Lover's punches and if you like seeing teams before they got big, and to see major improvement, then the matches are fun to watch.

Low Life Louie Ramos is selling this tape. I'm not sure how much he wants, but I think it's $10. You can post on the message board if you're interested about getting the tape from Louie. You can also email me or anyone else from the DOI, and we'll forward your emails to Louie. I highly recommend picking it up. People who've never seen the Doghouse, will experience the history of the top names in indy wrestling and for the people who've seen it will get to relive great memories.

It's 5 AM and I'm done reviewing for the evening. Look for LXW, ROH, ICW tape reviews coming soon.
