McRoss Report

What’s up everyone and welcome to another edition of the McRoss Report, one of the most talked about columns in indy wrestling! That statement should piss off a few people too! That’s right, I’m just gonna say things and if you don’t like it, I’m sorry, but it’s my opinion only, and it don’t really mean much unless you want it to. I got some beer to drink, some people to do and things to see, so let’s smack this bee-yotch out.

Greetings from the man underneath the 5 Gallon Heineken bottle.

First off I gotta thank everyone who comes to our little site. The site hits has exploded. In a month we got about 100,000 hits without no webring or anything. Just from fans/wrestlers/promoters/people looking for The Declaration of Independence. That’s sick. Thanks for coming to our site we appreciate it.

Yea yea yea I’ve heard everyone’s complaints about the DOI message board, and how there has been some attacks on people on it. I’ve even been attacked a few times myself by some fake posters. You gotta remember this, they are all little McBitches if they can’t sign their real name. Fake posting is a staple on many message boards, as people are either a. too lazy to sign up or b. posting stuff to save a reputation or trying not to get blackballed if they are a worker. I, for one, will not let it rattle me and I wish others wouldn’t get rattled too. It’s a freakin’ worthless message board. There is not one message board in the world, that isn’t up for amusement/news. I think the majority of the people do things right anyway, so it’s not a big deal. I guess if you don’t like it, just don’t read it. It’s all bs anyway. The funny thing is some fake posters complain about fake posters. Oh well. So just to wrap this up, what I learned fast is that people will talk shit either to make themselves feel better or just to get a reaction out of people. But, if you ignore it, it all goes away. So for the myriads of fake posters, I hope you guys register, but I understand why some people do fake post. I mean not every wrestler likes every promoter, and by venting anonymously, they won’t get blackballed or have shit flung at them by others because of their comments. The same goes with promoters talking about wrestlers. Indy wrestling doesn’t pay well, and people can’t afford to lose jobs, or can’t afford to alienate workers. I don’t think fans can be alienated, but some people will tell you otherwise. So I hope the shit dies out, and it goes back to normal and everyone can use their substance of choice and kick back. And that’s all I gotta say about that.

The USA PRO hotline is up and running. Call 516 214 8333. The Masked Maniac might not be the best wrestler, nor even close to it, but his mic skills and hotline skills are unparalleled. Here him shoot for real, and not afraid of voicing his opinions publically. Also hear him curse out various people when driving. Look for The Maniac Traffic report in 3 months lol.

Speaking of the Maniac, his good friend Frank Goodman is running a show this Friday at the Elks Lodge in Elmhurst, NY. Yes it’s gonna be 6 hours long, and yes it’s gonna have ticket sellers. Those are your negatives. But the positives do outweigh the negatives, because there is so much talent under the roof and so many good matches on the card. There is also a killer atmosphere there. I know a lot of people shit on USA for their negatives, but I’ve been watching a lot of best-of tapes recently, and let me tell you something: 90% of the best-of matches take place in USA Pro. Whether it’s the rowdy crowd, the legacy of the Elks Lodge or the time they are allowed to go, you are always guaranteed some great wrestling in between the crap. There is no indy promotion around here that has the roster/talent that USA does. It has big name guys mixed in with some great indy guys. Check out the full card at usaprowrestling.com

Can you shill or promote something if you don’t get paid for it? I didn’t think so either.

3PW was held this past Saturday and what a show and a half. The set-up is worth the price of admission alone. The show was fantastic and even got a new fan out of Triple A aka MiniFoley. 3PW runs again August 16th in Philly. You should definitely check it out if you haven’t already. With names like AJ Styles, Kid Kash, Jasmin St. Claire and a shitload more, you will have a great time. Check them out at 3pwrestling.com. Jasmin St. Claire runs it and has been very hospitable to the DOI, so please check out the petition too.

MAJOR NEWS: It has been confirmed by Mikey Zevon himself that he infact did play a Munchkin in the Wizard of Oz. Mikey got his Screen Actors Guild card in 1928, and has also starred in such roles as an Oompah Loompah in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory and in Air Bud. Lol I’m just foolin with you Mike. And people say you don’t have a sense of humor! Mike got more good humor than the ice cream man.

JCW runs this Sunday in what looks like another fantastic show top to bottom, bottom to top and sideways. It also features Livewyres last match in the tri-state area, as he’s heading to OVW. It’s a shame that attendance is so low at these shows, as they do really have great wrestling action. Ricky O has made an offer that no one can refuse: If you mention that you are going to show because you saw it on the DOI MB, you will get in for only 5 bucks! Shit for 5 bucks how can you go wrong? I’m looking forward to the Dirty Money vs John Walters match, I just hope that Devin Sturgis doesn’t have to carry the match! Only Devin will get that lol. Check out the full card at jcwwrestling.com

SSCW, my first fed I ever was involved in, and ran by my good friend for 8 years now, Carmine Sabia, has a great deal for fans at the next SSCW show. If you reserve your tickets before the showdate, not only will you get a ticket to a fucking fantastic show, which features a lot of top names on the indy scene, coupled in with stars such as Tito Santana, you will be part of a unique offer. If for whatever reason, SSCW cancels the show, you will get DOUBLE your money back, just for reserving/pre-ordering a ticket. This is the first time I ever heard a promotion doing this. SSCW has had some bad luck, but August will mark the rebirth as the company will be doing a lot of new things, such as even enforcing an old school rule book. Check out the SSCW message board as well as SSCW at sscwwrestling.com

Speaking of bad luck, JAP promises to return with a vengeance. They have a fucking killer line up and the start of a new cruiserweight championship tourney, to crown a new champ. Rain has forfeited the belt, as he wants to pursue his education. Another fine wrestler does the j-o-b to school. The other being that nasty, hat swiping, grimy Tony Lazaro. Good luck to Rain, and check out the full JAP card, which is stacked at japw.net. Show is on Aug 2nd.

Speaking of Tony Lazaro, he might be one of the funniest mothafukaz today. Could The MiC and The LaZ be brothers on the police force in the future? That would be some scary shit. It would be funny to tape though, because it would be hilarious. If you’d like to know what’s up or even see an interview with the retired Tony Lazaro, email me, and I will be on it like John Tetna on Damien the Snake. Seriously good luck to The LaZ in school, as it sucks balls, especially when you gotta go in the summer.

The DOI 250 is available THIS FRIDAY! Send all internet orders to declaration_of_independents@hotmail.com We will be at the following shows this week: USA Pro Friday, WXW and CZW on Saturday and JCW on Sunday. We’ll have a table at USA pro, so make sure to pick it up there. If you can’t get there, just email us or come up to us at the other shows, as we’ll have some on hand.

And please, before it starts, we know these rankings aren’t official. But a lot of work and input from other people went into it, and it’s a good read.

The Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees win. Theeeeeeeee Yankeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees win. That’s all you heard at Shea Stadium this weekend! But in reality, this series doesn’t mean much as it used to, as the Yanks disposed of the Mets in 5 games in the World Series, the only thing that counts.

What would be the best punishment for Armando Benitez?

Either:
a. Trade him to Boston so he can never come close to winning anything except a pie eating contest.

b. Tie his limbs to 4 cars and have them drive in 4 opposite directions.

c. Make him an honorary Yankee, while playing for the Mets.

d. Castration

e. Have him wrestle against Low Life Louie.

Send all responses on the DOI board or email Armando at

Went to Raw this past Monday with Brian Myers. We had a great time, and there was a lot of DOI and wrestling talk. The man also known as Betterthanyou and The MiC had a great time sitting skybox. You can never complain about a bad show when you got a stacked bar, free of charge right next to you. Anyway, look for Brian Myers to make a huge name for himself on the indy scene in the next few years. Everyone that I’ve talked to who’s seen him train says he’s got something special and has a great work ethic. It’s true, in the short time he’s been with DOI he’s done a lot of fucking work. Not smoking/drinking/drugs and staying straightedge is also a major positive for Myerinator. I’m looking forward to the Myers/Josh Deely match already!

Speaking of DOI writers wrestling, look for The Motivator to start a career in USA Pro. After getting his ass handed to him by Ref Hanson at the April show, Motivator looks to avenge that, and start kicking ass in USA Pro. (As long as he can sell his tickets!) In all serious, good luck to Moto, he’s gonna need it with all the cigarettes he smokes!

Expect a lot more updates/interviews and a shitload more here on the DOI site. We’re improving at a steady rate, and hope everyone enjoys it.

Will the Jac Sabboth/Darkfire feud ever end?

There’s a certain tag team wrestler that has camel toe.

Who’s the MiC’s favorite indy tag team? Ask EC Negro he will tell you! LoL.

The new Marilyn Manson CD, The Golden Of Grotesque, is a great cd, and anyone into metal should get it. Manson has been rocking for 10 plus years now and always offers something that no artist can replicate.

Issue 7 has been delayed for two weeks. Look for it soon. Issue 8 is also picking up fast, and will feature Gary “Pitbull” Wolfe.

CSWF and NYWC both run on July 12. Check them out at cswf.com and nywcwrestling.com. Once matches are officially announced and the date is closer, I will let you know what the full deal is with those shows. CSWF has had a bad product in the past, but looks to make a complete 180 at the next show. I’ve seen the talent signed and some of the matches, and it looks incredible. NYWC is always solid, and there has never been a bad show yet. There is always a moment at those shows that you won’t forget. At the last show it was Livewyre/Dickie Rodz tearing it up and Livewyre’s farewell to NYWC. A great moment for wrestling.

Speaking of NYWC, expect an interview with John Curse in upcoming weeks, and keep it here for more interviews with NYWC stars as we’ve gotten Tony Burma, Johnny Ova, Dan Barry, Solution, Livewyre and more already!

The Blackhearts Sports Entertainment Hotline is always a great listen. Call them at 1 718 707 1122. With Matt Zombie as your host you never know what’s gonna be said.

I just write articles, I don’t know how to work sound systems lol. Will anyone get that reference? Probably not, but hey it’s my column lol.

Devin Sturgis has a great commentary up on his site about message boards. Check it out at Devin Column
While you're at it, check out his other site at: http://www.untouchablekliq.com/

With that said, keep it clean on those MB’s and enjoy the shitload of shows going on this weekend.
