McRoss Report

They put flowers on your grave jon benet
They put flowers on your grave jon benet
The police they ask them
The papers they ask them
The parents they ask them
But you can never ask them

They put flowers on your grave jon benet
They put flowers on your grave jon benet
The papers exhume you
From your little grave they pull you
All they want to do
Is to poke around your mummy
They put flowers on your grave jon benet
They put flowers on your grave jon benet

"Inquiring Minds" by Eyes Adrift

And it's back. Welcome everyone to the most infamous column on the DOI site, the FREAK-IN McRoss Report. The lyrics on the top were sent in by myself, because damn, I haven't done these in a while. Eyes Adrift is a band that just split up, and featured former Nirvana bassist, Krist Novaselic as the frontman. They had some great shit and it's too bad they are gone, but what not is gone, is the McRoss Report. Sorry for taking so long to update this nonsense, but the DOI site has been requiring constant updating and has been taking up alot of free time. But enough bitching like I'm Papadon asking Frank Goodman to be put back on the USA PW show. It's time to roll.........

Greetings from the man underneath the 5 Gallon Heineken bottle.

The Matt Striker issue. This is long overdue. You know the story. He asked to work World 1 despite being booked for USA PW. He asked to work World 1 despite being the USA PW tag team champion. So what are my opinions on Mr. Gerbil himself? I see his point of view. Japan is a goal for many indy wrestlers. Some wrestlers would rather work for Japan then the WWE. I saw Striker's first 3 matches in World 1, and honestly they were great. He really had a standout match with Low Ki. With the way USA PW went on 2/14, I can see why Striker chose World 1 over USA PW. So, did Goodman make the right decision in letting him come back? I think so. Let's be honest, working in Japan and wearing Ribera jackets is probably more appealing than being called gay for an entire 5 hour show. So Matt Striker, it's good to see you back in USA PW, but don't let it happen again, as I feel that USA PW will be moving in a different direction now and should be taken more seriously.

I got alot of feedback on the CSC article. Alot of you agreed that they should be getting pushes in promotions. Some said that they are so over that they don't need titles. I don't agree with that and I'll tell you why. If you're a good wrestler, and you're over, you eventually need to win a title to be taken seriously. By having a title, it shows that a promotion will commit to you and wants you part of their roster long term. Hulk Hogan, the most over guy, ever in wrestling won many titles. Stone Cold ditto. The New Age Outlaws and LOD ditto. So my point is, you can be over like alcohol at an Indian Reservation (Or at an Alere Little Feather party) but you still need to win a championship to prove your weight, well, in gold.

Last time in the McRoss Report, available here: McRoss Report 3/20/04 , I discussed the promotions in NJ, and promised you critters a look at the Pennsylvania promotions. Well without further ado, here are my thoughts as I run down some of PA's best.

ROH- I don't know if you can consider them PA anymore, as I consider them the number 2 promotion in America right now. Of course this NWA TNA deal with Fox Sports might bump them back down to three, but nevertheless, ROH has changed the course of wrestling and has made an impact. They are easily one of my favorite promotions to watch live. They are my favorite promotion to watch tapes of. No promotion does home videos like ROH. The angles twist and turn like a bad road in Sciota. There is so much positive energy coming from the ROH camp. ROH has been faced with alot of adversity recently, and looks like everytime they are threatened, they suck it up and just leave everyone in awe. ROH is highly recommended.

WXW- Definitely one of my favorite promotions. WXW ran by the legendary Wild Samoan Afa, has had some great shows and big tournaments. The Samoan Cup and WXW Ladies Super 8 are the only tournaments of their kind in the north east. Sportsfest is another huge event for WXW and marks the culmination of WXW's year. The one thing I notice with WXW shows is that there is so many people involved, creatively, that at any given show anyone can be pushed and de-pushed. WXW has produced a great crop of guys for wrestling and it shouldn't be long before Mean Gene Sinisky is kicking the crap out of people on TV. You can consider WXW shows family oriented, but they leave enough for the smart mark fan as well. WXW is highly recommended.

3PW- I know I will get a nasty email for even commenting on them, but I would be remiss to leave them out of this. 3PW has faced alot of hardship, but has come back with highly attended shows. They seem to be capitalizing off of TNA's cold shoulder to ROH by having AJ Styles and Chris Daniels on the roster. They have seen large crowds as of late, and mix ECW nostalgia with today's brightest stars.

CZW- They seem to be losing steam. Their attendance has gone down, and there is talk of Zandig having to work a fulltime job now, like the majority of people in wrestling. CZW has really had their hands tied by the commission which is bullshit. They were punished for being innovative. The fans of CZW are loyal as they come, but they sometimes seem to spend more time on message boards then they do at actual shows, by looking at recent attendance figures. CZW has produced alot of star names. CZW is recommended, but if you love hardcore and want no bullshit, CZW is for you.

IWA-PA- Ran by Rapidfire Molanado, IWA runs 5 times a year, and features the progress of their students. Alot of good talent has come out of there. IWA has benefitted from a good solid working relationship with WXW. It's great to see promotions get along like this. IWA also provides a valuable service to the indies by renting their rings out to various shows. If you want ot see the future stars of today, IWA is for you. Also at IWA shows, you can watch Balls Mahoney kick Mike Trash in the balls or anyone else that doesn't know who Balls is.

World 1- They have brought Japanese wrestling to America, while still using the best talents America has to offer. Their blend of wrestling is very enjoyable and very realistic. World-1 seems to have working relationships with almost everyone, besides the Deer Park Community Center lol. Corino has done a fine job with this promotion. If you are more about mat wrestling than "sportz-entertainment" then World 1 is for you.

DWOW- DWOW is for people with penises and lesbians. DWOW features ladies wrestling with oil wrestling. It is definitely a fun night. You can enjoy yourself at any DWOW show. The comedy is there. If you're sick of, or want a break from watching sweaty half naked men grapple, then get your vaseline and head off to DWOW. The have alot of decent ladies wrestlers on their roster too.

CCW- This is the Quarryville version of CCW. I've only seen a few things from them, but they seem to have their own following. I don't think their shows are as stellar as some of the other PA promotions, but they have some talent on there such as Cabbie and Max Havok lighting things up.

There are various other small indies in PA as well, but not nearly the amount of feds as there are in NJ. For me, I think the best Philly promotion is ROH. I also think that WXW is the best sticks or non-Philly promotion in PA.

Well there you go, my comments on PA wrestling. I do feel that alot of good stuff comes from PA and if you're tired of seeing some of the same stuff in NJ, it's worth driving out to see what PA is doing.

Next McRoss Report: Examining NY.

I am sad to hear that Jac Sabboths store, "The Wrestling Universe" closed down. I never got to shoot fight Jac! Jac is a nice guy and has a good mind for wrestling. He might've stiffed over 4 million people, and might've bounced more checks than Kobe Bryant has bounced balls, but all in all, he's a good person. And hey, everyone got paid in the end. I really hope Jac's ICW return does well, and NY needs someone like Jac around to liven up the NY indy scene. Here are my top 5 reasons why I'm upset Jac's store closed down:

5. No more watching Jac shoot fight Danny Demanto.
4. No more prank phone calls to random people such as Jimmy James.
3. Now there are 0 indy wrestling stores in NY.
2. No more getting sloshed at 3 PM and checking out the Impact Twins
1. Now I have to go to class instead of blowing it off to chill with Sabboth The Stiffer
Jac, we hardly knew ye. The DOI is pulling for your and ICW to have a great show.

I now present to you the "Breathless" McTips.
Breathless is a go-go bar in NJ that is frequented by Ray Sager. He seems to be the Norm of this place. They have good booze there. Here are the tips:
Watch out for the shady bitches who take the dollars with their hand instead of with their jugs.
Don't trip over the stack of singles that Ray Sager has all over the place.
DO NOT EVER MENTION THE GI... TICKLER!
When partying with Juan Belushi, watch out for possible fights with other patrons.
Watch out for 250 pound pimps in white coats looking to recruit possible strippers.
Always scream and get loud, especially when you have alot of alcohol in you. It's funnier.
Always prank call Carmine with a large group to ask him when the last time he was at Breathless. Remember that Carmine has *67 blocked. Go back to partying.

Hopefully Ray will write a strip club review of that place. I can't do it justice. It still is no The Bear. In fact I got another email about the Bear from John Maloney of Oceanside, NY. John writes:
MiC- I love the DOI site. I was reading your article about The Bear. I used to go there before it got burnt down. (An ex employee committed arson) The girls there are so ratty. Back in 2000, you could get a blowjob for 20 bucks! One girl even looked like Bertha Faye. Feel free to include this in your McRoss Report.
Well thank you John, and yes The BEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR is still dirtier and skankier than ever.

JCW seems to be regaining some steam. The Los Geckos gimmick could become one of the most talked about gimmicks in indy wrestling if done right.

Alot of people have been talking about how DOI has been giving an open forum to all the hate amongst people. We will continue to put anything up that is sent to us, as we don't feel the need to edit anyone. We are an open forum for everyone and anything in indy wrestling and will continue to stay that way.

Don't forget DOIWrestling.com is the new URL of the DOI.

The DOI 250 comes out on June 1st. Let me tell you, this list will be talked about by alot of people and alot of unlikely people got ranked high, and alot of likely people got ranked low. The feedback to the 250 should be interesting.

Also the new DOI website should be launched soon. As you can see we're now accepting advertisements, as IHPW has become the first business to advertise on DOI. We appreciate everyone checking us out. We promise not to have pop up ads, but we will have ads on the site itself to pay for very costly bandwidth cost.

Fake posting is the sensation sweeping the nation.

Who is fecal threats? From my sources, it's none other than Marc Adler.

Johnny The Bison Bravado is the best heckler in the indies.

Thanks to everyone who has expressed love for McRankings. They are a bitch to do, but fun to hear what everyone thinks.

This is still the funniest pic ever:

So TNA has decided to fuck with the indies. Really, everyone should just wrestle their contracts out. TNA will never go anywhere without their wrestlers. This sort of ties in with the whole union thing in wrestling that will never happen. Seriously though, if no one signed these contracts that rape the wrestlers, then there would be no TNA. Fuck off TNA.

FEEEEEEEEEEEEEENY. MR FEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EE EE EE NY. Sorry Boy Meets World was on.

The Yanks are so winning the World Series this year.

Who can and hang and bang and party like Jake The Snake? Havok of the Soluuuuuuuuuuuuuuushun!

Why does Angelo insist on picking fights with Bravado and Fat Bastard?

EC Negro's favorite tag team is Team Target.

Dyami, we will go to a Yankee game!

The YES channel is great. I can watch Yankeeography all day long. Long Live Thurman Munson.

Is Joel Grayson still alive? Thanks to everyone who posts on the message board. Everyone remember- it's just a stupid fucking message board that is there for fun and to find out news. You can't sue the internet! P.S. Keep up the good fake posting MA Viper.

Who is the straw that stirs the drink of the indy scene? I'm guessing it's a man who used to have a blonde mullet.

Dexter Weiner and The MiC. The drunkest announcing team ever!

The Funker rolls like Ric Flair!

Toilets beware! Mike Zevon is coming to get youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

Dana Dameson should beware of crabs during Robert Payes's photo shoots.

CARRRRRRRRRMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!!!! The Wheel is on!

Ricky O's old school live journals rule.

Call the fucking Masked Maniac and his no integrity hotline at 516 214 8333. There is no other hotline today that features an ex WWF Tag Team Champion on it daily. Chris Candido really livens up the hotline with the yiddish maniac.

Speaking of yenta's how does everyone like Eric Simms's columns? The reaction has been mixed, so feel free to voice out on the board.

SIMON SAYS: CARMINE STOP FAKE POSTING!

Look for a huge Slyk Wagner Brown and Bulldog Blanksi interviews soon. Also look for Johnny Ova's if he ever gets away from Kane and calls me back!

Congrats to Nuke on winning the NYWC title.

Look for a HUGE interview with Ronnie from Atlas Security! We'll get to the bottom of Dexter's alcohol problem and more.

Is age really "nothin but a numba" on the indy scene? With 15 year old wrestlers, 16 year old referees, it shouldn't be too long before the indies see the first ever dodgeball championship title.

This Full Throttle Wrestling show is looking really good on May 29th.

The Motivator's court date is today! Good luck you fucking criminal!

Sorry for the short report but it's now 2:45 AM and I have to scrub toilets promptly at 7! I'm out.

See everyone at USA PW
