McRoss Report
I know I haven't updated this thing in a while, and that seems to be the trend, due to not having enough time. I promise to pump at least one of them every three weeks. Believe it or not, I actually do get ims and emails asking about The McRoss Report, how ridiculous is that? It's more ridiculous than having a lazy eye and walking around with Bill Goldberg Gloves like you're a Greaser from "The Outsiders." Anyway off we go...
You know it's Christmas time when every beer warehouse/store has the 3 liter Heineken Bottles on sale. I love these bad boys. The bottles are cool looking, and when you're finished with them, they are like little toys. In fact, looking at my floor I see 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13...14, bottles laying upon it. Man, it's getting harder and harder to walk in my little basement apartment shack. So anyway, if you're looking to get someone a Christmas Gift, get them the 3 Liter Heineken bottle. Shit get two bottles, and see who can drink it faster! That's the whole fun of it, because it starts tasting like crap when it gets warm, so pound a 3 Liter bottle in 20 minutes or less today!

Ok time for some serious shit.
The DOI, mostly Mike and I, are frequently asked by wrestling promoters if we are going to attend their wrestling show, and cover it on the DOI. Not to blow smoke up our ass pipes but the DOI has gotten a bit bigger and has gotten respect from people in the business as well as fans, and that's pretty cool, because this started off as just a hobby and a way to promote wrestling. Anyway, some wrestling promoters ask us if we're going or not, and when Mike or I say "Yea, we'll be there" the promoter says that's cool the show will be good. And 9/10 times, we'll go to the show, have fun, and the promoter will say "Be honest in your review/results."
That's something you will never have to worry about on the DOI. The DOI will always have honest reviews/results. We aren't going to piss on any integrity (that word is for Frank Goodman) by writing up something we don't think is true or our opinion.
Which brings me to this - opinion. Mostly every single thing you see on the DOI site is our opinion, not fact. While we do take responsibility for what we write, and won't give you the "Oh we're just a fan, go away" excuse, in the end it is all just our opinion, and everyone has an opinion. Yes, our opinion might reach more people, but if you read the site regularly, you will see what I'm a fan of, what Mike's a fan of, what Joel is a fan of etc. We don't go out to blast people for no reason, and to be honest, besides the Smoked Out shit, I don't think I've ever blasted someone.
Another thing I hear is, "Oh The MiC is biased cause he works for SSCW." I have never once said anything in my SSCW recaps that wasn't true. I said what I don't like and said what I liked. If I made SSCW out to be perfect, it would be a fucking lie, because if we were perfect, we'd draw 20,000 people weekly at MSG. SSCW is not talked about on this site any more than any other promotion. In fact, more promotions get buzz on the DOI Site (because they run shows more frequently) than SSCW. Bottom line, you don't have to worry about shills everyday and worry about if we're being honest.
So you're reading this and you're saying, "Come on you dumb drunk where is this going?" Well recently I wrote a review on this site, that I thought was more favorable than not. I even had some wrestlers and other promoters read the review and they even said it was more favorable than anything. The promoter didn't like the review and said I blasted the show, when I thought I did anything but that. He also questioned if my SSCW loyalties were a factor in what I wrote, and I told him it wasn't. This was after praising the product for 8 months or so and even giving it a good ending. Pretty much the purpose of this is to let everyone know that when I write something it is for the DOI only, and not in a SSCW spirit. I know wearing two hats is complicated, but so far it's been working. So the promoter got mad that I wrote something negative about some parts of the show. Recently we mended fences over it, but this wasn't the first time it has happened, so I just wanted to say that remember all the reviews on the DOI site are opinion only, except for giving match results, cause that is a fact.
On the other side of the coin...
The New York Wrestling Connection (NYWC), spearheaded by John Curse and Greg Stengel have been running shows now for a little bit under a year's time. These guys say "Be Honest," and don't care what you write about the show, as long as it's true. The last show reviews I've done about NYWC, questioned alot of stuff, and I said what I liked and what I didn't like. No one from that company complained about what I wrote, and they even put a link on their main page (http://www.nywcwrestling.com)of the DOI review. These guys understand that the DOI will help promote shows and talk about their product, but at the same time not shill shill shill (Cough Slingblade Carl lol) and be honest. Honestly I hate reading shill reviews because they are so cut and dry and boring. The guys at NYWC have a good sense of humor. I mean I wrote a whole review of NYWC making Tyler Payne look like the devil himself, Triple H. Then in an interview, I asked all sorts of nasty questions, and the guy laughed it off and gave it back. It was cool to see someone not take themself too seriously and have fun, which is the reason why I do the DOI anyway, for fun. (Plus for a few beers.) Anyway, since NYWC has been good to the DOI, let me honestly say, that they have good shows and are the best way to spend 10 bucks in NY. Somethings need to be explained better, in my opinion, but for the most part it's a solid promotion that has plot lines with twists and turns. Check them out on 1/10 in Deer Park, NY, and check their website for more information.
The above wasn't to single out the promoter who wasn't pleased with the review and to kiss NYWC ass, it was just my fuckin opinion lol.
The Top 10 Breakout stars in 2004 column is now up on the DOI site, and so far it has recieved good feedback. Someone asked me about why Colt Cabana wasn't on the list, and pretty much to answer that, I only had 10 spots. There will be alot of break out stars in 2004, like there have been in 2003. In 2003 alone, Mafia, Slyk Wagner Brown, April Hunter, Alexis Laree, Paul London, Samoa Joe, Sonjay Dutt, Livewyre and numerous others all broke out to be either WWE superstars or bonafide top indy talent. Again, the top 10 was my opinion lol.
Everyone knows that Dana Dameson is down with the DOI, so more often than not, people will ask us about her. I'm proud to say that people have been saying she's gotten better since her shaky locker room debuts. I knew Dana would be able to do it if she was taught right, and for people like Bravado, Azriael and Carmine who have helped her, that was mad cool. I'm also happy to hear that Dana is taking wrestling seriously, and is training to better herself at the BWO school out in Garfield, NJ. Even though we like you Dana, we're still gonna be screaming nasty things at you, especially at USA Pro! lol.
Is anyone going to the WWE MSG houseshow on 12/12? Anyone got an extra ticket? I wasn't going to go to this abortion, but I have just heard that Shawn Michaels will be wrestling Ric Flair. (Drools) This will be the second time that these two wrestle one on one, and hopefully it will be a 30 minute match. I am a huge HBK mark and love Ric Flair, so this match will be great to watch.

Watch out for Taxi Drivers in Queens who try to cut people off. More times than not, they will be reminded where Pakistan is, and then pulled over by a cop!

This is Mike Zevon with an interuption during this McRoss Report. I would like to announce here in the Infamous McRoss Report that I am stepping down from my management position with USA Pro Wrestling. I have had a tremendous time working with Frank Goodman, Blade, Rob, Angelo and most recently Anthony DiBlasi and I feel that my services are no longer needed with the team they have now and would not be used properly. I choose to not get into the details as to why I am stepping down from the management team but would like to just say that it was a pleasure working with the USA Pro and its roster. The guys and gals that graced the locker room in USA Pro are fantastic people. I love them all. And we will continue working with them in a number of ways. My time will now be dedicated once again to the Declaration of Independents 100%. Look for some big time things to take place in 2004 as we take the D.O.I. in a whole new direction that will make everyone who comes to the site and reads our material very happy. We love the wrestling business and in 2004 it will show! Thank you for your time and back to your usually scheduled McRoss Report!

I would love to see Mana wrestle a Monsta Mack or a Prince Nana or even a Homicide, and see how the big man does in a match that isn't a squash.
2004 is the year of the Cat. Coincidentally, Bravado plans on eating it! Seriously though, I think Bravado has more of a drive to be successful in wrestling, and I think 2004 will be a big year for him.
I also wouldn't be surprised if he bought and sold 4 cars in the year as well!
On a good night, Havok can drink his own with The MiC.
Watch out for a "Jimmy" who goes to strip clubs and threatens to hit everyone with a suicide dive, as long as you catch him!

I'm not 100% sure, and this is only a rumor, so take it as such, but I've heard that Manny A, is in fact Matt Viper.
If April Hunter doesn't win woman wrestler of the year across the board, I'd like to see who had a better year in womans wrestling.
Man how many F-bombs were dropped at the final elks lodge show? I stopped counting after Joel said fuck for the 103rd time.

I figured I'd get into the lazy eye story, but one, it's too long and two, then he'd print it out. It's always good to have FANS print out some DOI work. Sad thing is this guy jerks off to it. Maybe that's why he wears those gloves.

I'm sorry to hear that LXW will not be in NY for its next show. LXW has a good product and a unique roster, and I hope they will return to NY soon.
