McRoss Report

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook's
Going to get himself a big dish of beef chow mein
Werewolves of London, by Warren Zevon. (RIP)

What up everyone and welcome to along awaited McRoss Report. I haven’t bitch slapped one of these out in a while, which is starting to become a trend, but since I got a 12 pack of Foster’s, some free time and the best of Lynard Skynard CD in the background, so here we are with a brand new McRoss Report.

Greetings from the man underneath the 5 Gallon Heineken Bottle

Warren Zevon

First things first, my condolences go out to Warren Zevon’s family, including DOI CEO, Mike Zevon, about the recent passing of Warren Zevon. Some people might not know this, but I am into all kinds of music, and Warren Zevon was one of the people doing music the right way. So that is why you see his lyrics on top of the McRoss Report. I guess Warren was talking about Johnny Bravado in that song, and while I don’t know if that is the case, make sure to check out Warren Zevon’s new CD, coming out shortly.

DOI GOSSIP has busted out on the DOI site, and so far, the feedback has been very positive. For the few who haven’t liked it, please remember that it’s a parody and supposed to be fun, (except for the Jimmy James camel toe picture, that's true lol) and the DOI is trying to do different things then everyone else. Speaking of which…

Some guy “El Gimmicko” has been posting saying he don’t like the way I do my reviews, but likes the way I do interviews. I think he said he likes the interviews cause they are straight up, no bullshit side banter. Well El Gimmicko, there will be beer talk in my McRoss Reports, there will be beer talk in my McReviews and there will be beer talk at Fibber McGees Bar. (Mean Streets of Long Island bar) I mean, I could give the basic results of Wrestler A d. Wrestler B, but EVERYONE ELSE is doing that, I’d rather do different shit, so hence my “style.” That is why I really believe the DOI is the best at doing what we do, because we try to keep things original, innovative and entertaining, hence (second time I used hence in a McRoss Report) DOI TV, DOI GOSSIP, and the Restaurant reviews. Last I checked, no one was doing what we were doing, and we don’t want to be like everyone else. Hope that sums things up for you, but if you still got a problem with that, my email is at the bottom.

Now, onto other things…

Can you believe that Papadon and Havok, from The Solution, are still CANDY CANING people at bars? Neither could I, but I saw it on DOI GOSSIP, and if it’s on the internet, it’s gotta be true!

DOI Year-End Awards meetings have already started to take place. A lot of people might not be happy with the final results, but I promise, we will give you the reason why and prove why we think these guys deserve the award they are getting.
This just in: Mike Zevon has voted for DRS to win the following:
-Wrestler of the year
-Tag Wrestlers of the year
- Promoter of the year
- Fed of the year
- Pajamas of the year
Another suspicious vote came from Mike Zevon and that was E.C. Negra and KC Ballerina to win the female award.

Whether or not this happens, we will all have to wait till the end of the year!

Onto a little serious stuff. For people in the PA area looking to get into the wrestling business, I strongly urge you to check out the WXW training school which is moving to Sciota, PA. Here’s the full info:

Samoan is pleased to announce the opening of his newest Wild Samoan Pro Wrestling Training Center, Inc. on Wednesday October 1, located at the Sciota Wholesale Warehouse Complex off of route 209 and 33.

Sciota will also be the home of the new WXW Arena, home of WXW Rage TV. All of the WXW events will be catered by Rick's Sciota BBQ Click here: DirtySanchezHotSauce.com.

Sciota is conveniently accessible to New York and New Jersey, as well as PA residents. Located in the beautiful Poconos off of route 80, close to Stroudsburg, PA. WXW will have a kick-off show on Sunday, October 19. I will definitely be checking that show out.

DOI GOSSIP is stealing some of my material! By the way, email us if you got some juicy DOI GOSSIP!

A lot of people have sent me nice emails about the April Hunter interview, saying it was one of the best ever on this site. I tend to agree, that it was def one of the best ones on this site. On the flip side, I also got some emails saying the Rebel interview was one of the worst ever on this site. For that I say, wait until the Motivator interview!

Kurt Angle is god…

My job fucking sucks, so I haven’t had as much time as I wanted to watch tapes, but as soon as I get bronchititis and meningitis and lupus, I’ll have a few more McTape Reviews up.

Strong style was discussed on the DOI message board. It was brought up by JCW owner, Ricky O.
My feelings on Strong Style are that it will be the next “fad” to all over wrestling. By “fad” I mean trend. Look at what hardcore did for wrestling. ECW presented hardcore all the time. You can make a case that ROH and MLW have stressed the strong style, similar to ECW showcasing the hardcore style in wrestling. A big indy company, ECW, featured the hardcore style of wrestling prominently, and what happened? It’s 2 biggest competitors at the time, WCW and WWF, both incorporated the style, and even signed ECW superstars to perform the hardcore style. (Albeit, not at 100%, I mean look how toned down RVD is now.) I think this will happen with strong style. You got the biggest indy company right now, ROH, and you got its two competitors in the WWE and NWA TNA. It’s only a matter of time before WWE and NWA TNA start presenting strong style matches and signing strong style wrestlers. Whether this is a good thing or bad thing for wrestling will be debated by fans, journalists, promoters and most importantly, the wrestlers. I personally think it can be good or bad, and can’t really stay on one side of the fence on this one.

On one hand, it’s great, because it makes wrestling more real then it already is. Maybe we can see Homicide, Corino, Low Ki in the WWE, rather than Albert, Test and Bradshaw, if strong style is to be incorporated into the WWE. This would provide exciting and entertaining matches.

On the other hand, people will get injured, but then again, you can get injured on a basic wrestling move, which was intelligently brought up by Ray Sager on the message board. I won’t debate him there, he made good points, but what I will bring up is this. When strong style phases through pro wrestling, (Not really phase out, but dies down a bit) similar to hardcore wrestling, what’s next? What happens when the fans want more than strong style? Are they going to want guns and knives to end feuds? How far will wrestling go? I mean people hardly get excited for great indy matches anymore, or WWE matches for that. I mean Kevin Nash and Triple H went 30 minutes in a cage, and killed each other, but it was considered a let down. Will Homicide vs Low Ki be considered a let down in the future, because one of them didn’t get killed in it? Something to think about.

To sum it all up, as a fan I enjoy watching everything. I can watch any type of wrestling whether it be corny ‘80s wrestling, 60’s mat wrestling, hardcore wrestling, or strong style. As someone who cares, I just hope that the next style after strong style, isn’t something that will shorten wrestlers careers.

8 beers down, 4 to go!

I got “That Smell” on by Lynard Skynard at the moment. One has to wonder if Mr. Von Zant was talking about Fat Bastard. Well probably not, since Von Zant didn’t know Fat Bastard, but still, pretty interesting lol.

Alere Little Feather could very well be the female MiC in terms of booze consumption lol.

Trash Talking radio people. Check it out, DOI’s own, Doc Daniels is one of the co-hosts. Will Doc Daniels ever hook up with Luscious Lily? Hopefully we’ll find out soon, and the only way to find out is to check them out at:

SPECIAL MIKE ZEVON INTERRUPTION!
What up party peoples, it’s Mike Zevon here. I’m reading the McRoss Report with a blunt in hand, and felt like I needed to say a few things. Sorry MiC, but Mike Zevon in your McRoss Reports=website hits!

The Motivator’s Apartment is a pig sty and smells like rat droppings.
The Motivator needs to change his Redskin jersey.
MiC has Solution underwear.
Check out DOI TV!

That’s it from me, here’s the rest of The McRoss Report.

Editor In Chief of the DOI

I hope that midget oompah loompah doesn’t interfere in my McRoss Report this week….

I was just watching my best of the Macho Man tape, and I gotta say it’s fucking hot. DIG IT!

SSCW September 26 will be a big show in the right direction for SSCW. If you can’t check it out, because USA Pro is the same day, then make sure to get the tape, as it will be commentated by Doc Daniels and crew, and will be a good show. Check out the card and the shizznit here: www.sscwwrestling.com

While on SSCW, I can promise that November will be our “wrestlemania” of the year. What I mean by that, is that it will be loaded and most likely, our best show of the year. Last year we had Scott Steiner, and this year we hope to outdo that. Expect great wrestling, great entertainment, and a great show.

Elks Lodge looks like it will be closing down. I guess Motivator won’t be moving there after October 1st!

Josh Deely, Danny Demanto and Kevin Matthews have all been “fired” by USA Pro. Deely will be at SSCW, while Demanto and Matthews futures in SSCW are up in the air. Stay tuned to the DOI and SSCW for more.

Quick upcoming schedule of hot shows:
Saturday, CSWF, www.cswfol.com
Sunday, WXW, www.wxwwrestling.com
9/20, ROH, www.rohwrestling.com
9/26, SSCW and USA PRO, www.sscwwrestling.com and www.usaprowrestling.com
9/27, JAP and NYWC, www.japw.net and www.nywcwrestling.com
9/28, JCW and Xboko www.jcwwrestling.com and www.xbox.com (I forgot xboko website for real, I think it might be on the message board)

With all those shows, us northeast fans are very lucky, as every single show looks very strong. I know I might sound too optimistic, but seriously, there are really no flaws with any of these line-ups, and I’m looking forward to some great shows and some great booze!

Quick thanks to Mary Kate and Jimmy James for the NWA TNA tapes, I appreciate it guys.

Well 12 beers were up, and 12 beers are now down, so that ends this edition of the McRoss Report. Stay tuned to the DOI site for Southern’ Vinny Stylin’, Slyk Wagner Brown and Nick Berk McInterviews. Don’t forget to keep checking DOI GOSSIP and DOI TV! Word life!
