Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend, I checked out PW Elite's debut show. These rankings reflect that show only, as I only rank what I see.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Josh Ambercrombie- defended his IWA MS LHW title at Elite.

9. Jose Maximo- won a 6 way match at Elite.

8. Brandon Thomaselli- beat Azraiel & Petey Williams at Elite.

7. Azraiel- lost in a three way match at Elite.

6. John Walters- made his northeast wrestling return, in a losing effort, to Josh Daniels.

5. Josh Daniels- beat John Walters.

4. Tommy Dreamer- beat Mana in a bloody match.

3. Chris Hero- went 1-1, losing to Harry Smith and beating Eddie Kingston.

2. Harry Smith- defeated Chris Hero at Elite.

1. Mana "The Polynesian Warrior"- lost to 2 former ECW Champions, in Tommy Dreamer and Sabu.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. Bison Bravado/Trent Acid- outlasted two other teams before being defeated by the OCK at Elite.

4. Simon Diamond/CW Anderson- picked up a tag victory at Elite.

3. The SAT- wrestled twice at Elite, and almost won the IWA MS Tag belts.

2. The Iron Saints- defended their IWA MS Tag Team belts against two other teams.

1. The OutCast Killahz- defeated three other teams at Elite.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Slow week at PW Elite....

4. As there were only two girls at the show....

3. Which means all I have this week are....

2. Sumie Sakai- had a hard fought match at Elite.

1. Kyusei Ninja Ranmaru- beat Sumie Sakai.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. The ECW Arena To Host a Ton of Shows- CZW, ROH, JAPW & PWU will all host events in the ECW Arena this year. It should be interesting to see what other promotions decide to enter the New Alhambra.

4. Superstar Billy Graham's Book Hits the Stores- Definitely worth picking up. I'll have a review of it soon.

3. Rey Misterio Wins the Royal Rumble- who would ever think they'd see a 5'3" guy main eventing WrestleMania? It could happen.

2. PW Elite Returns After a Years Abscence- It might have Pete Ferriero as the owner, but it's obvious RF Video is running things. It should be interesting to see where they are a year from now.

1. UXW Returns This Friday Night- The first ever TLC Royal Rumble Ladder Match, Sandman/Abby, Corino, Balls, and tons more is scheduled for this packed show.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
Mana "The Polynesian Warrior" vs Tommy Dreamer
This was a barbaric and bloody fight, which Tommy Dreamer ultimately won. However, despite the loss, Mana gained alot of respect from the fans, and a few months from now, we might be looking at this match as the turning point in Mana's career.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
