Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend, I checked out both NWS's and NWA Cyberspace's first shows of 2006. These rankings reflect those shows only, as I only rank what I see.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Quiet Storm- outlasted 11 other men to become #1 contender to the NWA Cyberspace Cruiser X championship.

9. Mana "The Polynesian Warrior"- had a hell of a return at Cyberspace, squashing Chris Camaro.

8. Josh Daniels- retained the NWA Cyberspace Internet title over Bobby Roode, via DQ.

7. Billy Gunn- beat Rodney Mack and had the crowd behind him while doing so.

6. Mike Kruel- lost to Matt Bentley on Saturday night.

5. Matt Bentley- defeated Mike Kruel.

4. Rhino- lost to Abyss in his quest to win the JAPW, UXW & Cyberspace Heavyweight titles.

3. Abyss- retained the Cyberspace title over Rhino.

2. Jay Lethal- was pinned by Frankie Kazarian in the match of the week.

1. Frankie Kazarian- defeated Jay Lethal in a strong match.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. The SAT- made their presence felt at NWA Cyberspace.

4. Gavin Quest/Nicky Oceans- were outsmarted by Rob Eckos and Corvis Fear in their NWS tag bout.

3. Rob Eckos/Corvis Fear- picked up a win in NWS on Friday night.

2. Archadia/Red- came thisclose to winning the NWA Cyberspace tag team belts.

1. AMIL- retained the NWA Cyberspace titles by defeating Archadia/Red.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Missy Sampson- the former Luscious Lily reffed all the women matches at NWA Cyberspace and maintained order.

4. Jazz- picked up an easy payday for 3 minutes of work at Cyberspace.

3. Traci Brooks- eliminated Jazz & Cindy Rogers in the "Cyber Sexy" match.

2. Mercedes Martinez- defeated Alere Little Feather & Sumie Sakai on Saturday night.

1. ODB- won the "Cyber Sexy" 6-woman match at Cyberspace.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. NWA Cyberspace Doesn't Disappoint- There's always fun to be had at every NWA Cyberspace show.

4. PW Elite returns on Saturday- PW Elite, which might as well be called "JAPW Mid-South" returns after a years abscence. With the talent booked, it should be a great show.

3. The TLC Rumble Ladder Match at UXW on 2/3- It could be one of the craziest and best matches of the year, or one of the worst. However, with the talent in it, I'll bet the former over the latter.

2. Kevin Matthews Signs A WWE Developmental Contract- From urinating on title belts to taking his career seriously, Kevin should be a big asset for the WWE in the years to come.

1. Sting Returns To TNA- Now he's taking 2 months off. What a hell of an investment.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
Frankie Kazarian vs Jay Lethal
This was a great bout between two fine wrestlers. Lethal, who replaced SWB in this match, had a good outing, despite taking the loss. You have to wonder if SWB was in this match, would've it took match of the week honors? Sadly, we may never know.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
