Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend, I checked out PWU's first show of 2006. These rankings reflect that show only, as I only rank what I see.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. The Sandman- see below.

9. Jake "The Snake" Roberts- got paid a shit load of money for less than a minutes work. Now that's a worker!

8. Nick Berk- defeated KJ Hellfire.

7. Bison Bravado- defeated Havok to earn a UXW Tag Team title match.

6. Balls Mahoney- took a beating from Corporal Robinson in a strong fight.

5. Corporal Robinson- defeated Balls Mahoney in a kick ass match.

4. Grim Reefer- almost won the PWU Jr. Heavyweight title in a triple threat match.

3. Devon Moore- won the PWU Jr. Heavyweight title in a three way fight.

2. Homicide- lost the PWU title and fought to defend it, despite not being 100%.

1. Trent Acid- won the PWU Heavyweight Title from Homicide.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. Team NWA Upstate- (The Olsen Twins/Brodie Lee)- lost to Team PWU via DQ.

4. Team PWU (Shane Taylor/Z-Barr/Jerk Jackson)- defeated team NWA Upstate this past Saturday.

3. The OCK- took the pin in the wild triple threat PWU Tag title match.

2. The SAT- had a good showing in the triple threat PWU tag team title match.

1. The Briscoe Brothers- retained the PWU Tag Team titles against two strong teams.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Slow week this week, so I'm gonna have to stretch it...

4. Now that I think of it.....

3. There was only girl that I saw this weekend.....

2. And her name was.....

1. Luscious Lily- not only ring announced at PWU, but wound up spearing Team NWA Upstate.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. Eric Walker Becomes a PWU Co-Owner- From throwing money into NCW, from throwing money into MCW, Eric Walker is now investing in PWU. Must be great to have money! Good luck to Eric on his ventures.

4. NWA Cyberspace Has A Virus- From building venues to women protestors, it's good to see that NWA Cyberspace will try to overcome it all this upcoming Saturday, on 1/21.

3. Super Saturday in Philly- 700 at PWU, 450 at CZW, 900 at ROH; it's safe to say wrestling is alive in Philly.

2. Homicide Drops Two Titles Due To Injury- After losing the PWU title to Trent Acid on Saturday afternoon, Homicide lost the FIP Title to American Dragon on Saturday night. A weaker wrestler or a wrestler with an ego would've just asked the promoter to strip him of the title. Instead, Homicide did the "time honored tradition".

1. Kurt Angle wins the World Title- Finally, a real wrestler with one of the top belts today.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
For the PWU Tag Team Titles
Briscoe Brothers vs SAT's vs OCK
These teams have been fighting for tag title belts all over the place, from the JAPW Tag Team titles one week to the PWU tag team titles the next week. These three teams have established a great chemistry with each other and keep putting on entertaining matches. This past Saturday at PWU was no different, as these three teams had arguably the best match on the show.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
