Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.
1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.
2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?
3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.
What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend, I checked out JAPW's "Haas of Pain", as it was one of the more heavily hyped shows of the year. Since I rank what I see only, these rankings reflect JAPW's 9/10 event.

10. Danny Demanto- defeated Plazma, but was brutalized by New Jack.
9. New Jack- made Rahway happy by showing up and kicking the crap out of Danny Demanto.
8. Archadia- lost to Azraiel in his quest to become the new JAPW LHW champion.
7. Samoa Joe- was a victim of "The Gore" at JAPW.
6. Rhino- defeated Samoa Joe cleanly in the "indy dream match."
5. Charlie Haas- lost to Jay Lethal in a bid to win the JAPW Championship.
4. Azraiel- retained his JAPW LHW title by beating Archadia.
3. Jay Lethal- defended the JAPW Heavyweight title successfully against Charlie Haas.
2. B-Boy- lost a very competitive match against his SST partner, Homicide.
1. Homicide- defeated B-Boy in a strong style challenge match.
TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS
5. Teddy Hart/Jack Evans- While Jack wasn't there, his name and team was kept alive by Teddy Hart, as Teddy made it obvious that The Next Generation Hart Foundation are gunning for the JAPW Tag Team Titles.
4. Brian Myers/Brett Matthewz- lost to the OCK, for the 2nd straight time, at JAPW.
3. The SAT- lost to the BSB in their JAPW Tag Team title match.
2. The OutCast Killahz- defeated Myers/Matthewz to pick up another big JAPW victory.
1. The Backseat Boyz- defended their JAPW Tag Team titles on 9/10.
TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.
5. Anna Social- managed The Backseat Boyz to a victory.
4. Tammy Sytch- refereed the womens match at JAPW.
3. April Hunter- made her JAPW return by attacking Jackie Gayda.
2. Jackie Gayda- defeated Alicia after an unsuspecting run-in from April Hunter.
1. Alicia- lost to Jackie Gayda via DQ, but did a good job of keeping the match together.
TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.
5. UXW Announces That Missy Hyatt and Jasmin St Claire Will be at the 9/24 event- Missy and Jasmin join Tammy Sytch on a star studded roster. UXW Promoter, Frank Goodman, on having all three divas in one locker room, "It will be a hell of a train wreck." Look for a big news report on UXW on 9/25, the day after this loaded card.
4. TNA signing everyone under the roof- TNA has signed alot of people in the last few weeks. How are they going to fit them all on one show? I know I'm looking forward to their Spike TV debut.
3. Jay Lethal Wins His Biggest Match Yet- Jay Lethal faced the biggest roadblock in his JAPW Championship reign, when he took on Charlie Haas on Saturday night. Lethal picked up a huge win and continues to have excellent title matches, in addition to carrying the load a champion needs to carry. The only question is, how long will he be on the indies for?
2. JAPW Puts On A Show Of The Year Candidate- Four Big Surprises, Three Big Title Fights, Two Stellar Halves of Wrestling equals one hell of a show. While some fans might have blind loyalty to another promotion, the best thing for anyone is to sit down and watch this DVD when it comes out and forget what letters are producing it. This is just a great card, from top to bottom, featuring solid wrestling with no bullshit.
