Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This time, these are my special EXTREME rankings, as I will rank the best stuff I saw during the ECW weekend, as I attended both Hardcore Homecoming and One Night Stand. I hope you enjoy.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Lance Storm- defeated old pal, Chris Jericho, at ONS.

9. Super Crazy- won a wild three way at ONS.

8. 2 Cold Scorpio- defeated Kid Kash at HH.

7. Masato Tanaka- lost to his old rival, Mike Awesome, at ONS.

6. Mike Awesome- defeated Masato Tanaka in a fantastic brawl.

5. Justin Credible- took a clean loss to Jerry Lynn after a 20 minute technical wrestling match.

4. Jerry Lynn- defeated Justin Credible in one hell of a match.

3. Shane Douglas- not only did he help promote the best indy show of the year, he had a fucking kickass rematch with Funk and Sabu.

2. Terry Funk- at 60 years old, this crazy fucking man is bleeding buckets in a barbed wire match. The Funker can't be stopped.

1. Sabu- The most Homicidal, Genocidal and Suicidal wrestler ever, defeated Rhyno, Terry Funk and Shane Douglas this weekend. Not shabby for a guy who was recently hospitalized.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. New Jack/John Kronus- defeated Bad Breed, after a huge scaffold dive by New Jack.

4. Chris Chetti/Mikey Whipwreck- picked up the first win of the weekend, against Diamond/Anderson.

3. Simon Diamond/CW Anderson- took a loss at HH, as 1/2 of the Extreme Horsemen.

2. Sandman/Dreamer- lost a brawl and a bloodbath to the men of Dudleyville.

1. The Dudley Boyz- won an interference heavy match, defeating Sandman/Dreamer.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Dawn Marie- managed Lance Storm to a single's victory. Too bad Dawn wasn't around when Lance was being called boring during 2002-2003.

4. Jazz- DDT'ed Jason and helped Lynn defeat Justin Credible at HH.

3. Beluah McGillicutty- Beluah finally returned to wrestling, even if for one night, by attacking Francine at ONS.

2. Francine- the Queen of Extreme returned with what Joey Styles would say, "her large boobs."

1. Tammy Sytch- was all over the Hardcore Homecoming show and looked good.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

There's only one thing that matters this week, and that is that ECW was back, if only for one weekend. Thank yous have to go out to Shane Douglas, Jeremy Borash, Vince McMahon, Paul Heyman, Tod Gordon, and Rob Van Dam for making this all happen. I don't know how anyone will ever be able to top this.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
Three Way Dance
Barbed Wire Rope Match
Sabu vs Terry Funk vs Shane Douglas
The Night The Line Was Crossed was revisited and we got a huge treat, as these three legends bled buckets all for the letters and chant of E!C!W! This was a great match, that blows away most indy main events. Funk, the 60 year old wild man, vs Sabu, one of the biggest innovators in wrestling vs Shane, one of the most bitter guys in wrestling, just put on another match that will be remembered for some time. This certainly was the best ECW type match of the week.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
