Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend I only checked out three shows, as I saw AWA, NWS and NWA NJ. These rankings reflect those shows only.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Tito Santana- defeated Kevin Knight at NWS, in a paint by the numbers match.

9. Crazy Ivan- defeated Bad Boy by DQ at NWA NJ.

8. Homicide- lost to Warpath, after lots of interference, in a bid to win the NWA NJ Heavyweight title.

7. Gavin Quest- defeated Gil Quest at NWS.

6. Damian Adams- lost in a bid to regain his NWS Junior Heavyweight title against Tony Flow at NWS.

5. Bandido Jr.- put his NWA NJ Lightheavyweight title on the line, against Archadia, in a 20 minute draw.

4. Azraiel- defeated Chris Idol, to keep his AWA Light Heavyweight title.

3. EC Negro- lost to Simon Diamond at AWA.

2. Simon Diamond- defeated EC Negro at AWA, in a competitive match.

1. Archadia- lost to Damian Dragon at AWA, and had a great match with Bandido Jr at NWA-NJ.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. Pinkie Sanchez/Mike Donovan- were defeated by the ESK at AWA.

4. Bison Bravado & Danny Demanto- beat Poco Romeo and Chris Sandel, in a match that proved why ticket sellers are hurting indy wrestling.

3. The Elm Street Kids- defeated Pinkie Sanchez/Mike Donovan in AWA, and defeated Sugaa/Brawly in NWS NJ.

2. Team Turtle- lost in a bid to win the NWA NJ Tag Titles against the CSC.

1. The Christopher Street Connection- defeated Team Turtle to regain the NWA NJ Tag Team Titles.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Krystal Synn- lost the AWA womens title to Alicia at AWA on Friday night.

4. Tammy Sytch/Sunny- managed Vicious Vin to an NWS Heavyweight Title reign this past Saturday night.

3. Alere Little Feather- lost to Cindy Rogers at NWA NJ on Sunday.

2. Cindy Rogers- defeated Alere Little Feather at NWA NJ.

1. Alicia- won the AWA Womens title by defeating Krystal Synn.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. Poco Romeo's Injury at NWS- Everyone has an opinion on this injury, and the bottom line comes to this- this is the reason why ticket sellers don't belong wrestling real wrestlers, nor deserve to be in professional wrestling rings. I understand people's passion for the business, but why would you want to go into a ring just to be an embarrassment? There is more to wrestling than actually doing flips in ring and selling tickets to earn the right to be called a professional wrestler.

4. May 21st- UXW, JAPW, NYSWF, CSWF, NYWC, IWI, 3PW, ABC, XYZ, where will you be this Saturday. With literally dozens of shows going on in the NY/NJ/PA area on the 21st, where will you be?

3. AJ Styles wins the NWA TNA World Heavyweight Title- This was a big win and hopefully will change the face of TNA.

2. The Crazy 8 takes place this Friday, on May 20th- One of the biggest and unique matches in indy wrestling takes place this Friday night, as PWU presents the Crazy 8. Keep checking the DOI and ProWrestlingUnplugged.com for more information on this huge event.

1. Mike Quackenbush wins the 5th Ever Best of the Best Tournament- For a guy who has been in alot of tournaments, but never won one, this was a huge night for Quack and the Quackamaniacs.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
For the NWS Heavyweight Championship
Vicious Vin vs Saddam Insane
While this wasn't the best wrestling match by far, this was an entertaining match for the NWS fans. It also showed one of the nicer guys in wrestling, in Vicious Vin, getting a title belt. Vin won't do anything for most promotions, but fits in well with the family style that NWS presents. With Sunny making the three count, all seemed right in the NWS wrestling world for a day.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
