Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend I checked out JAPW's Rahway return show. These rankings reflect that show, as I only rank what I see only.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. EC Negro- defeated Trent Acid, in a wild match, after a phantom leg drop.

9. Dixie- defeated Neeno Capone and let everyone know that The H-Effect are back in town.

8. Quicksilver- lost to Super Dragon at around the 17 minute mark.

7. Trent Acid- enraged and riled the crowd beyond belief in his match.

6. Super Dragon- defeated Quicksilver at AFTERSHOCK.

5. Azraiel- defeated Eric Cooper and Excess 69 to retain his JAPW Light Heavyweight Championship.

4. El Generico- took a beating from Low Ki in his match at JAPW.

3. Low Ki- defeated El Generico at JAPW.

2. B-Boy- lost to Jay Lethal in the main event of JAPW.

1. Jay Lethal- defeated B-Boy in a thrilling encounter.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. Strong Style Thugs- Despite not competing, Low Ki and B-Boy let Jay Lethal know, that it's going to be a long hard road before he gets a shot at Homicide.

4. The H-Effect- The Insane Dragon and Dixie let everyone know that the H-Effect is back in town.

3. Dan Barry/Plazma- held their own against the JAPW Tag Team Champions, despite losing the match.

2. Kevin Steen/Beef Wellington- lost in a bid to win the JAPW Tag Straps from the New Hart Foundation.

1. Teddy Hart/Jack Evans- defended the JAPW Tag Team Titles, and also won a non-title tag match at AFTERSHOCK.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

I did not see any women wrestlers wrestle this week, therefore these rankings are just for the sake of having rankings. 5. The girls at Breathless- Glenn Strange loves you gals.

4. The girls of WXW- I did not see these girls wrestle, but the girls of WXW competed on an all womens show this past Sunday night.

3. Liz- held down the JAPW merchandise table.

2. Alere Little Feather- was tomahawking everyone at the RF Video table.

1. Alicia- held it down at JAPW, and would've wrestled if she had an opponent.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. IEW Announces Building Change & Major Surprise- IEW returns on May 28th, at the AWA arena, which is located at 725 Sips Street in Union City, NJ. The last IEW show featured a major surprise in the return of Da Hit Squad. What could the major surprise be for this show? This should be a quality independent wrestling event.

4. AWA Returns this Friday Night with Demanto/Lethal II- After having an explosive first match, which saw the man from Cherry Poppin' Queens, NY, win the AWA Championship, Demanto gets no break as he puts his title on the line in a rematch with the man from Elizabeth, NJ, Jay Lethal. Don't sleep on this match folks, this might be one of those special AWA moments.

3. CSWF Returns this Saturday Night- CSWF returns this Saturday night with an NWA TNA World Title Match. In addition to the NWA Title being on the line, Slyck Wagner Brown puts his CSWF title on the line, making this match a title vs title match. This will be a first time ever match in CSWF.

2. The Sixth Annual J-Cup Really Shapes Up for this Saturday Night- In addition to one of the biggest northeast independent tournaments of the year, you will also get to see two major indy heavyweight titles be defended. With a strong field of competitors in the tournament, and with the AWA and WXW Titles on the line, in addition to such stars as Simon Diamond and Jim Neidhart, this might be one of the better shows of the year.

1. JAPW Announces Matt Hardy for 6/4 Event- I'm sure JAPW will see a rise in the amount of female fans when they put on this show.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
Jay Lethal vs B-Boy
This match saw the number 1 contender to the JAPW Championship, Jay Lethal go head-to-head with the New Age Punisher, B-Boy, for the first time ever. Lethal was able to squeak out a win with his top rope DDT, but B-Boy got the better of Lethal at the end of the match, as he and Strong Style Thug teammate, Low Ki, gave Lethal a beating. Regardless, this main event match certainly delivered at JAPW.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
