Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend I checked out UXW and NWA NJ. These rankings reflect those two shows.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Billy Gunn- looked good, despite losing in his first UXW match to D-Lo Brown.

9. D-Lo Brown- defeated Billy Gunn at UXW.

8. Vordell Walker- looked good in his UXW debut this past Friday night.

7. Matt Striker- defeated Vordell Walker in a good match at UXW.

6. Balls Mahoney- lost, then won back the UXW Championship from Mike Kruel.

5. Mike Kruel- was UXW champion for 4 hours, after defeating Balls Mahoney, only to lose it back in the same evening.

4. Low Ki- lost to Elix Skipper, in a bid to win the UXW Extreme Championship.

3. Elix Skipper- defeated Low Ki to retain his UXW Extreme Championship.

2. Homicide- lost to Chris Candido in a really good match.

1. Chris Candido- defeated Homicide in one of the best matches of the weekend.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. The Stallions- defeated three other teams at UXW.

4. Bandido/Black Angel- had a humorous match with the CSC at NWA NJ.

3. Solution 2.0- had a decent first time outing at NWA NJ against Team Turtle.

2. Team Turtle- won an impressive match at NWA NJ.

1. The Christopher Street Connection- lost in a bid to win the UXW Tag Team championships, but captured the NWA NJ Tag Team Championships on Saturday night.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Jade Chung- I didn't see her work, but she continued her role in ROH's Embassy this past Saturday.

4. The girls of Super Circus Wrestling- I didn't get a chance to check this out, but I didn't see any other women wrestlers this weekend.

3. Alicia- made her presence felt at UXW.

2. Diamond Vixxen- managed at UXW.

1. Crazy Puerto Rican Girl- managed the Bad Boy to victory in NWA NJ.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. The J-Cup and CSWF Both Run on 4/30- One show features one of the top NJ tournaments and the other show will feature NWA World Title defenses. It sucks that both shows are on the same day at the same time, but at least 4/30 will be a good day for indy wrestling.

4. Jim Quinlin leaves ROH- Good luck to Jim Quinlin as he takes his savvy promoting skills to JAPW.

3. UXW runs another 6 hour marathon- Will UXW/USA Pro Wrestling ever truly change?

2. Danny Demanto wins his first Heavyweight Title- This past Sunday night, Danny Demanto won the AWA Heavyweight championship. Who would've ever thought 3-4 years ago, this fat chubby kid would be the number 1 guy in a promotion? Well the time has come and this fat, slightly less chubby kid is positively representing the AWA.

1. JAPW Returns this Saturday Night- JAPW has been coming off a hot streak of shows, and this Saturday night should continue that streak.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
For the UXW US Championship
Chris Candido vs Homicide
This match pitted one of the best indy wrestlers without a WWE contract today (Chris Candido) against arguably the top indy wrestler today (Homicide.) These guys clicked and a great kick ass match which will probably make a few Best-Of Tapes.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
