Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend I caught 4 shows in 3 days. Damn, I need a life. Anyway, I saw alot of matches, so the rankings were hard to compile this week. Here they are:

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. The Missing Link- got one of the biggest pops of the entire week, and told a good story in his wrestling match with John Cabbie, as Cabbie helped Link earn this ranking.

9. Envy- went down to Chalupine Negro at AWA.

8. Boogalou- defeated Danny Demanto in WXW.

7. TDS- looked solid in a win over SLG in WXW.

6. Homicide- defeated Bandido Jr and Crazy Ivan at NWA NJ.

5. Bison Bravado- defended his WXW Heavyweight title against Havoc. Defeated Excess at NWA-NJ.

4. Deranged- defeated Mike Donovan at AWA in style and in ease.

3. Chalupine Negro- defeated Envy at AWA.

2. Rob Vegas- lost to Jay Lethal, but gave a valiant effort in losing.

1. Jay Lethal- defeated Rob Vegas in an incredible three stages of hell match at AWA.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. The Elm Street Kids- had a good debut match in WXW against The Untouchables. Lost to the Flesheaters in NWA NJ.

4. The Outlaws- took a beating and played great comic foils for the CSC in their match at NWA NJ.

3. The Christopher Street Connection- showed why they are the funniest wrestlers and can entertain any crowd this past Sunday at NWA NJ.

2. Tsunami Xpress- Bison and Mana ate up their opponents at NWS on Friday night.

1. All Money Is Legal- defended their AWA tag titles in AWA, and rekindled their feud with Los Lunatics in WXW.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Alicia- won her tag match in AWA & her tag match in WXW.

4. Pyscho- was part of an entertaining promo in WXW, but lost in her match.

3. Cindy Rogers- won a tag match in WXW, and lost to Ariel in NWA NJ.

2. Wesna- had a great match with Ariel at WXW, winning the match with a cop killa of all moves.

1. Ariel- lost to Wesna in a brutal match in WXW. Defeated Cindy Rogers in NWA NJ.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. Homicide Grows Another Year Older- Happy Birthday to the Notorious 187 Homicide. Look for a DOI interview with one of the greatest indy wrestlers today soon.

4. RF Video Now Selling the Dana Dameson Shoot Interview- If there was ever a shoot interview to rile up the DOI message board, this is it. I have just watched it, and will have my review of it up on the site during the week.

3. Night Vision Cameras @ AWA- Oops! During AWA's main event, an angle was blown, when the lights went out, when a camera with night vision exposed that nothing happened at all when the lights were out, except for Jay Lethal falling down by himself. It's not the end of the world however, as AWA has several options to fix this mistake. This was one of those things, that will be laughed about down the road, as it's just a funny indy moment.

2. Jake The Snake Shows up at NWS- Watching everyone at NWS, from child to adult, stand up, and show respect for one of the greatest minds in pro wrestling history was something that I was glad to witness live.

1. Low Life Louie Jr is Born- Congratulations to Louie & Angela on the birth of their new baby boy, who reportedly cut his own umbilical cord, before gigging the nurse who put him in a towel.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
TIE
AWA
Jay Lethal vs Rob Vegas
&
WXW
Ariel vs Wesna
I was very undecided on what match meant more this week, and delivered the best goods, hence me putting two matches in the match of the week column. Lethal and Vegas was an amazing wrestling match, but I don't think it will do anything in the long run. Ariel vs Wesna transcended most of womens wrestling today and was very memorable. Both matches were great to watch and both had different elements, earning them this spot.
Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
