Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend I checked out AWA's latest offering in Union City, NJ, and these rankings reflect that show.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Bison Bravado- defeated Malachai after a people's roaring elbow.

9. EC Negro- lost to Rob Vegas in a decent enough match.

8. CJ O'Doyle- went down to Mo Sexxy at AWA on Friday.

7. Mana "The Polynesian Warrior"- destroyed Bobby Vee this past Friday.

6. Mo Sexxy- defeated CJ O'Doyle in a nice match.

5. Azraiel- defended his AWA Light Heavyweight Championship successfully against Envy.

4. Chalupine Negro- was virtually unknown in a loss to Neeno Capone.

3. Neeno Capone- defeated Chalupine Negro in a competitive match.

2. Jay Lethal- took a beating but also gave a beating, in his match with Homicide.

1. Homicide- wrestled in a wild brawl with Jay Lethal, which even saw Homicide bust up Jay Lethal's eye like a heavyweight boxer.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. All the Wrestlers in the AWA Crowd On Friday- you would've made these rankings for real if you were booked.

4. Chris Idol/Archadia- lost to the NBC on Friday.

3. Eric Cooper/Joe Hardway- were victorious this past Friday night at AWA.

2. The Untouchables- lost to AMIL at AWA.

1. All Money Is Legal- defeated The Untouchables to retain their AWA Tag Team Titles.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Liz- will always be remembered in indy wrestling for having big breasts or for her expertise ticket taking skills.

4. Layla Herrera- even though she's not on the active roster, she's still supporting her home fed every show.

3. Krystal Synn- she's working hard, but doesn't deserve any championship yet. Can't fault her for winning the AWA Women's title however, she didn't book it.

2. Luscious Lily- did the professional thing and lost to a rookie despite the rookie blowing alot of spots.

1. Alicia- had to do the professional thing, by losing in a match that made no sense, and killed any long term build-up.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. SSCW Finally Dies- I believe Carmine can be a bigger asset to the DOI with his columns and tape reviews than SSCW ever could be for the wrestling business.

4. March 12th- March 12th is a good day to be a wrestling fan, because if you go to Philly you can catch the PWU-CZW doubleheader, and if you're in the NY/CT/MA area, you can catch ROH.

3. AWA bombs again- AWA needs to get back on the page and put on blow away shows like they are capable of.

2. Jay Lethal wins the ROH Pure Wrestling Championship- Jay Lethal win the ROH Pure Title, with one eye, nonetheless. Lethal is truly one of the greats today.

1. ROH Loses The Rexplex- This is like WWE losing Madison Square Garden. Hopefully ROH doesn't try to steal anyone else's building because they have done enough disrespecting this weekend by pushing their super junior tournament a week before the best super junior heavyweight tournament in America today, The Super 8.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
AWA

For the AWA Heavyweight Championship
Jay Lethal vs Homicide
This was a great match this past Friday night, as these two warriors destroyed each other and treated each other like animals. From Jay Lethal hitting Homicide so hard with chops, that it sounded like gunshots, to Homicide headbutting Jay Lethal's eye shut, this match was a vicious affair. I might've panned the rest of the show, but this match is definitely worth picking up and checking out.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
