Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend I checked out AWA and CSWF's first shows of the year. With that said here are the rankings this week:

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Rob Vegas- lost to Jay Lethal in AWA.

9. Archadia- picked up a pinfall victory in AWA over Neeno Capone.

8. Eric Cooper- defeated Pinkie Sanchez in AWA.

7. Michael Shane- lost to Slyck in a bid to win the CSWF Heavyweight title.

6. EC Negro- defeated Mike Kruel in AWA.

5. Slyck Wagner Brown- defeated Michael Shane to retain his CSWF Heavyweight Championship.

4. Mike Kruel- lost to EC Negro in AWA, and lost a match in CSWF.

3. Jay Lethal- defeated Rob Vegas to become the AWA Undisputed Champion.

2. Mana "The Polynesian Warrior"- went down to Abyss in an exciting match.

1. Abyss- defeated Mana in one of the best matches in CSWF history.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. The Solution- defeated Mike Kruel/Josh Daniels in CSWF.

4. AMIL- had an electrifying match with OCK in AWA.

3. OutCast Killahz- went to a no contest with AMIL in AWA.

2. Jeff Jarrett/Matt Striker- lost to AMW in CSWF.

1. Americas Most Wanted- defeated Jeff Jarrett and Striker in CSWF to retain their CSWF Tag Team Titles.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Cherri Delicious- took a beating from her former wrestler, Danny Demanto in AWA.

4. Trinity- managed, then turned on Traci Brooks in CSWF.

3. Alicia- managed NBC in AWA.

2. Traci Brooks- lost to April Hunter in CSWF.

1. April Hunter- defended her CSWF Womens title against Traci Brooks successfully.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. Jay Lethal wins many Year End Awards all over the Internet- If 2004 was any indication, 2005 will be Jay Lethal's year.

4. CSWF becomes NWA-Cyberspace- Will the name change affect the product?

3. CZW Bombs- From 1000 people to 150 people, there is no reason ever to have an 850 person dropoff from one show to another. Hopefully CZW is able to rebound, as they didn't really kick 2005 off with a bang.

2. CSWF draws a record crowd- Looks like things are picking up and turning around for CSWF, as CSWF tries to compete with the top dogs of NJ.

1. Rob Feinstein/Jeff Jarrett Meet up at CSWF- It was only less than a year ago that people were saying that RF was the reason that TNA pulled wrestlers out of ROH. Doesn't seem that way after Jarrett and RF had a friendly meeting at CSWF.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
CSWF
Mana vs Abyss
This was one of the best big men matches I've ever seen on the independent scene. Both guys told a great story and fought a long and violent match. Both wrestlers had the crowd in the palm of their hand, and considering that this was the first time these two have worked together, CSWF would be stupid not to book a rematch in the future.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
