Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.
1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.
2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?
3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.
What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend I checked out AWA and NMW's Sabu show. Both shows offered something a bit different. With that said here are the rankings this week:
TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS
10. Gavin Quest- lost to Archadia in AWA.
9. Archadia- picked up a pinfall victory in AWA.
8. Johnny Thunder- defeated Crazy Ivan and lost to Queenan Creed in NMW.

6. Bison Bravado- defeated Jai Kronik in AWA.
5. Crowbar- lost to Vic Divine in a hardcore match in NMW.
4. Simon Diamond- lost to Chris Candido in an entertaining match at NMW.
3. Chris Candido- beat Simon Diamond at his own game at NMW.
2. Azraiel- lost to Xavier in AWA.
1. Xavier- defeated Azraiel in a very good match in AWA.
TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS
5. The Valedictorians- lost to the Solution at NMW.
4. Hot N Sexy- went 1-1 at NMW, beating Mana/Fuller and losing to the Solution.
3. EC Negro/Pinkie Sanchez/Rob Vegas/Mike Donovan- wrestled a great match despite defeat to the powerful NBC.
2. The NBC (Jay Lethal/Joe Hardway/Envy/Eric Cooper)- won one of hottest AWA main events in AWA history.
1. The Solution- won two matches in NMW, becoming the NMW Tag Team Champions.
TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.
5. Cherri Delicious-managed Danny Demanto against Devious.
4. Layla Herrera- was a company woman showing support at AWA.
3. Serena- managed Vic Divine to NMW NorthEast gold.
2. Elektra- managed the A-List at AWA and raised alot of money for Sabu.
1. Alicia- managed NBC during the main event of AWA.
TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.
5. DOI Year End Awards- Look for an official announcement soon concerning our Year End Awards.
4. NMW Raises Money For Sabu- In addition to Mick Foley, Sabu made an unexpected visit to NMW this past Saturday. The crowd showed Sabu alot of respect and NMW did a great job raising funds for Sabu.
3. Austin Aries wins the ROH Heavyweight Title- In a title change that was very much expected, Aries became the fourth ROH Champion by pinning Samoa Joe. It looks like ROH has a new champion to reflect their new direction. Where Aries' reign will be interesting, it should be very interesting to see where Samoa Joe goes from here.
2. AWA Closes 2004 With A Bang- AWA had a good show to close 2004, and it looks like 2005 will only be bigger. B-Boy and the Outcast Killahz will debut for AWA on AWA's first show of 2005, scheduled on 1/7.
1. CSWF Books Jeff Jarrett For Two Shows- Jeff Jarrett makes his debut for the TNA-Happy CSWF in January. He'll return in February. It should be interesting to see how CSWF books the NWA Heavyweight Champion.
