Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This weekend I checked out AWA’s recent offering, as well as ROH’s 11/6 Liger show. Here are my rankings for this week:

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Nigel McGuinness- went to a time limit draw with Chad Collyer in ROH.

9. Grim Reefer- defeated Envy in AWA in a strong match.

8. Jimmy Rave- defeated Jay Lethal in ROH.

7. John Walters- defeated Homicide by DQ due to Homicide’s injury.

6. Fast Eddie- put his body on the line in the four match in ROH.

5. Trent Acid- was part of the fast four match in ROH.

4. Jay Lethal- looked very solid in his loss to Jimmy Rave.

3. Jack Evans- looked great in the 4 way match in ROH, and also interfered in Generation Next’s tag team match.

2. Homicide- lost to John Walters in ROH, but showed a tremendous amount of strength and courage by continuing after suffering from concussion-like symptoms.

1. Insane Dragon- won an electrifying four way match in ROH.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. Roderick Strong/Austin Aries- lost to Punk/Steele in ROH. This last ROH show had a lot of strong tag teams, and it’s amazing a team of this caliber is in the 5 spot.

4. The Havana Pitbulls- defended their ROH Tag Team Titles successfully against Maff/Whitmer.

3. CM Punk/Ace Steele- defeated Generation Next in a barbaric match.

2. Low Ki/American Dragon- lost to the dream team of Joe/Liger in ROH.

1. Jushin Thunder Liger/Samoa Joe- This dream team defeated Low Ki/American Dragon in one of the biggest ROH Main Events ever.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Cherri Delicious- showed up to AWA even though she wasn’t booked. (Yep slow week for womens wrestling… Part I )

4. Layla Herrera- showed up to AWA even though she wasn’t booked. (Yep slow week for womens wrestling… Part II) .

3. Alicia- showed up to AWA even though she wasn’t booked. (Yep slow week for womens wrestling… Part III)

2. Lacey- managed her man, Izzy, to victory in ROH.

1. Allison Danger- cut two strong promos in ROH, in her never-ending quest to destroy Maff/Whitmer.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. CZW Returns This Sunday- Don’t forget that CZW is this Sunday, with a special matinee show.

4. Homicide wrestles after getting concussion-like symptoms- In a scary moment, Homicide continued to wrestle for as long as he could, after getting dropped off the top rope and landing on his head/neck area.

3. JAPW Books the first ever Teddy Hart vs B-Boy Match- This should be a hell of a match to close out the JAPW year.

2. Frank Goodman signs a deal with Coors Light- Check out the DOI main page to see the talent roster that will be on these two mega shows in January.

1. ROH has a successful “Weekend of Thunder”- Many fans went home happy this weekend, after seeing Liger wrestle live.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
ROH
Jushin “Thunder” Liger/Samoa Joe vs Low Ki/American Dragon
What else could be match of the week? This may have not been the best wrestling match in ROH history, but it might be one of the most remembered. This was a great mark-out match for many people, and Liger delivered for ROH.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
