Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up everyone in DOI land and welcome to another McRankings. This week I checked out AWA and CZW. Let’s see who placed where this week.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Chris Hero- defended his CZW Iron Man Title, and advanced in the XSS Tournament in CZW.

9. Bobby Quance- won a four way match in CZW against Lethal, Cannon and Webb.

8. Jay Lethal- defeated Bobby Vee in AWA, but lost in a four way match in CZW.

7. Jimmy Rave- Lost to Sonjay Dutt in a competitive match up.

6. B-Boy- lost to Shelly in a bid to become the number 1 contender to the CZW Jr. Heavyweight Title.

5. Alex Shelley- defeated B-Boy in a good match.

4. Sonjay Dutt- defended his CZW Junior Heavyweight Title against Jimmy Rave.

3. Justice Pain- returned to CZW successfully by pinning Derek Frazier. Also reunited the H8 club as well as got himself involved in the CZW main event scene.

2. Messiah- looked good against Homicide, while defending his CZW title.

1. Homicide- had a good match for the CZW Title with Messiah before a bullshit ending.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. Suicide Syndicate- defeated ESK in a good match.

4. Pinkie/Azraiel – looked good in defeat to AMIL in CZW.

3. H8 Club- Fought in the main event of CZW in a loss.

2. Blackout – Defended their CZW Tag Team Titles against the H8 Club.

1. AMIL- Defeated Pinkie/Azraiel in CZW. Lost in a bid to win the AWA titles from Hot N Sexy.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Liz- Held it down at AWA, as no one gets by her, including tag team champions!

4. Cherri Delicious- managed Ron Price in AWA.

3. Lacy- scouted talent at CZW.

2. Layla Herrera- lost in a bid to win the AWA Womens Title.

1. Alicia- defeated Layla, to retain her AWA Womens Championship.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. Dan Payne Paralyzed- Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery for the former AWA Champion. From what I’ve heard from people in AWA, he will be sorely missed.

4. 3PW is this Saturday- Joey Matthews vs AJ Styles vs Chris Daniels vs Chris Sabin easily has potential to be match of the year.

3. Indy Girls getting snubbed for Fake Divas who play dodgeball- One word, “ugh”

2. DOI Interviews- This week saw 3 great interviews on the DOI site with Jasmin St. Claire and the CSC.

1. USA Pro Convention on 10/3- Looks to be the best convention in NY this year. For more info check out www.usaprowrestling.com

MATCH OF THE WEEK

CZW Title Match
Homicide vs Messiah
A very good match, a very bad finish. Both of these guys went all out for 20 minutes, before Justice Pain interfered, signaling a no contest finish. Both wrestlers looked very good in this match and had many false finishes.
