Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up boys and girls and welcome to another thrilling edition of McRankings. This I checked out the stellar AWA and a new promotion, XOW. There was alot of differences between both shows, so let's see who gets ranked.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Hyena- took a beating in a match against Shane Taylor in XOW.

9. Archadia- won a triple threat match over Rob Eckos and Jay Lethal in XOW.

8. Dan Payne- defended his AWA title against Johnny Thunder.

7. Danny Demanto- wrestled AWA, in defeat in AWA.

6. Dover- defeated Danny Demanto in AWA.

5. Johnny Thunder- told a good story in a match with Dan Payne in AWA.

4. Mayhem- wrestled Deranged in AWA.

3. Deranged- defeated Mayhem in a solid match in AWA.

2. Pinkie Sanchez- had a good match with Jay Lethal in AWA. Lost to Shock in XOW.

1. Jay Lethal- defeated Pinkie Sanchez in AWA. Went on to have a decent match in XOW on Saturday.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. Suicide Syndicate- lost to Body Count in AWA.

4. AC Smooth/Dan Dynasty- lost to AMIL in AWA.

3. New Wave/Bass- lost to the Young Gunz in XOW.

2. The Young Gunz- looked well in a win in XOW.

1. AMIL- defeated AC Smooth/Dan Dynasty in a rough encounter.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Dana Dameson- she knows how to light up an IHOP.

4. Liz from AWA-one of the best ticket takers in the indies.

3. Alicia- did the DOI Secretary gimmick during the awful XOW show.

2. Cherri Delicious- managed Ron Price in AWA.

1. Layla Herrera- wins this spot sort of by default as it was a slow week for womens wrestling and for women in general.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. August 28th- CSWF has DDP, ROH returns to Boston, and H2 has their second show. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.

4. DOI Message Board goes over the bandwidth limit- Damn you fake posters, you made us pay for more space due to the board going down to an incredible amount of fake posting in a 24 hour span.

3. Kevin Matthews/Deranged- I don't think we've heard the last word from either of these two.

2. WXW's Sportsfest is this FRIDAY- The Wrestlemania of the indies takes place this Friday featuring Don Muraco!

1. CZW's Best of the Best IV is this Saturday- Looks to be another solid outing by CZW this coming Saturday.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
AWA
Jay Lethal vs Pinkie Sanchez

Time and time again, Pinkie shows improvement in every match he has. You might as well dub him as the breakout performer of 2005. By having solid matches in AWA, and wrestling people on Jay Lethal's caliber, Pinkie gains more in every match. It should be intresting to see what happens in his next AWA match when he takes on Danny Maff. As for Lethal, he' been the wrestler of the year in many people's eyes, and he brings instant credibility and respect to any promotion he is in.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
