Hey everyone, welcome to McRankings, which is a monthly feature in the DOI newsletters. To spice up the DOI website, every week (Or as much free time as I can get) I will rank, in my opinion, the top 10 indy wrestlers that I have seen for the week. The monthly rankings will remain in the newsletter, which is available monthly. I will also rank the top 5 tag teams, top 5 women wrestlers and top 5 “Intangibles”. There will also be one “McMatch of the Weekend.” Rankings will be on what I’ve seen only, and I usually make all the top shows. NWA-TNA wrestlers will only be ranked if they wrestle in the northeast area, but I will not rank wrestlers on what they have done in NWA-TNA, but I will comment on it. This is what I look for in a ranking. The criteria is listed in order.

1- Workrate- how good was the match from a wrestling standpoint. A lot of rest holds? Non stop action? Ring psychology, footwork and selling moves will also factor into this.

2- Character/Crowd Reaction- How the wrestler did with the crowd. Was the crowd chanting boring or were they popping the whole match? Likewise, was the crowd sitting there or booing and cursing the hell out of the heels?

3- Finally win/loss records. This won’t really factor into it too much, but if 2 guys are tied, then I will give the nod to the guy with the better win/loss record.

What up boys and girls and welcome to another thrilling edition of McRankings. This I checked out two big shows- CSWF and JCW’s J-Cup. Lots of good matches this week, but only a select few can make the rankings. Check out who made the cut.

TOP 10 SINGLES WRESTLERS

10. Dan Barry- Had a good first round match with Matt Striker in this years J-Cup.

9. Chris Kanyon- Had a solid match with Slyk Wagner Brown in CSWF.

8. Matt Striker– Went to the second round of the J-Cup by defeating Dan Barry. Lost to Daniels in a hard hitting encounter.

7. Josh Daniels– Went to the third round of the J-Cup, by beating Tyler Payne and Matt Striker. Lost to B-Boy in a good match.

6. Sonjay Dutt- Won a really good 4 way in CSWF by beating Nick Berk, Reefer and Scampi.

5. Mike Quackenbush- Part of the best match of the weekend with an incredible showing with B-Boy, after beating Jigsaw.

4. Super Dragon- Wrestled 3 matches and won this years J-Cup.

3. Homicide- Defeated Slyk Wagner Brown in a good match to become the JCW Champion.

2. Slyk Wagner Brown – Won one heavyweight championship and lost another, as he won the CSWF title but lost the JCW title. His matches with Kanyon and Homicide, respectively, were both solid.

1. B-Boy- Had 4 solid matches in this year’s J-Cup. Went to the finals before losing to Super Dragon. Made himself a good name in this tournament.

TOP 5 TAG TEAM WRESTLERS

5. Dan Barry/Nana-Insulted in CSWF, but were team players in losing the CSWF Tag Team Titles.

4. Himilaya Playaz- Not a good week for tag teams as the Himilaya Playaz take the 4 spot.

3. Americas Most Wanted- Won the CSWF tag team titles.

2. The Solution – Lost to The Youngbludz in the CSWF tag gauntlet.

1. Matt Striker/Rob Eckos- Defeated Fire/Smoke and The Solution, before losing to AMW in quest for the CSWF tag titles.

TOP 5 WOMEN WRESTLERS
Note: On weeks where there weren’t enough women wrestlers, managers/valets will be placed in spots. Women wrestlers will always be ranked ahead of managers/valets.

5. Destiny/Miss Asia/Miss Michelle- Destiny would be turned down in a 60 and over 2nd rate XXX magazine. The other two have nice faces and bodies, but besides that have nothing else, in a wrestling talent way, going for them.

4. Alicia- Despite not working this weekend, she had more talent in the stands than everyone in the 5 spot.

3. Tara Charisma- still feuding with John Shane, as she got into a scuffle with him in CSWF.

2. Tracy Brooks- Lost to April Hunter in CSWF. Also managed Shane in CSWF.

1. April Hunter- Defeated Tracy Brooks. Managed Slyk in JCW.

TOP 5 INTANGIBLES
The intangibles will be used for the top 5 people/angles/interesting developments that occurred during the week.

5. WXW Sportsfest to take place next week- The Wrestlemania of WXW is only 8 days away and will be unforgettable.

4. Censorship in Wrestling- Check out Mike Zevons column on the main page. It’s a really good article and breaks some things down.

3. J-Cup- Maybe one of the best shows of the year. Ricky O really does a fine job with this tournament and I wish more fans would support it.

2. Summertime- Look for a column on the summers influence on wrestling.

1. ICW Cancels- Another chapter in the story of ICW. I feel bad for Jac Sabboth, as I know what caused the cancellation, from a personal side. However, it seems that Jac is like the boy who cried wolf, and it might be hard for him in the future to ever get a good presale for a show.

MATCH OF THE WEEK
JCW
J-CUP 2nd Round Match
B-Boy vs Mike Quackenbush

To me, this was the best match of the whole tournament. This match really told a story and showed that Quackenbush can still go whenever the fuck he wants. B-Boy’s DVD and three shining wizards really kept the crowd hot as the ref counted three. Definitely a PAW match, and one of the best matches in J-Cup history.

Well that’s it for this week. Keep it here on the DOI site for all the good shit!

Let us know on the DOI message board or send us an email and tell us what you think about the rankings!
