What's up everyone and welcome to a special preview for CSWF's first event of the year. CSWF started 2004 on a down note, but by the time 2004 closed, CSWF cemented itself as one of the best promotions in NJ today. CSWF followed through with every match they announced and had huge wrestling superstars such as Lex Luger, Larry Zybysco, Roddy Piper, Ron Killings, Diamond Dallas Page, Al Snow, Kanyon and others all make appearances. CSWF, which is the only indy promotion that runs TNA angles and books NWA TNA wrestlers in this area, debuts in 2005 on January 8th in Wayne, NJ. Here is a quick look at the card with my opinions on it:

Note: The following is the official card from the CSWF Press Release. My comments are in italics.

FATAL ATTRACTION - SATURDAY, JAN 8th 2005
MATCHES ALREADY ANNOUNCED!

CSWF Heavyweight Title Match:
Champion: Slyck Wagner Brown vs. Challenger: Michael Shane
As a result of the “Till Death Do Us Part” mixed tag team match at the last event, both Michael Shane and Tracy Brooks have earned individual title shots at champions Slyck Wagner Brown and April Hunter. But for the reigning CSWF champion this is more than just a title defense...it’s personal! After watching Michael Shane execute a devestating superkick to April Hunter, Slyck Wagner Brown has vowed revenge at Fatal Attraction! One man on a hunt for the championship...One man on a hunt for redemption... Both men with a common fear of Vince Russo lurking in the shadows!

This should be a very good match, if Michael Shane lets it be. Slyck always works hard, while Shane has a reputation for being lazy and big leaguing. I think this can be match of the night, but with all the talent on this show, I don't know if I'd pair these two together for a main event. (I'll get into that at the end of this column)

CSWF Women’s Title Match:
Champion: April Hunter vs. Challenger: Tracy Brooks w/ Trinity in her corner
Since recapturing the women’s title for the CSWF, champion April Hunter has been a marked woman. While many experts consider Tracy Brooks the best female athlete in the industry today, no one can deny the achievements of “Big Red” that have left Brooks green with envy! For added insurance, Tracy Brooks has secured the services of former CSWF women’s champion and fellow TNA teammate, Trinity to stand in her corner. The big question is: Is Trinity still bitter over losing the championship?

This should be a solid womens match as both of these girls have worked against each other in the past. This match has also been nicely built up in CSWF. I'd look for April to finally end this feud here, move on, and leave Trinity and Traci to fight each other.

Special Six Man Tag Team Match:
Jeff Jarrett & The Youngbludz (Matt Striker and Nick Berk) vs. Ron “The Truth” Killings & America’s Most Wanted

This is one of my problems with the show, and I'll talk about this at the end of this report. One question is if it's Team TNA vs Team CSWF, why is Jarrett the NWA TNA Heavyweight Champion, fighting against the former NWA TNA Tag Team champions? Could a potential turn be on the way? My prediction is that Jarrett, with the help of AMW, kabongs Killings over the head with a guitar for the victory.

Battle of the Big Boys
Abyss vs. Sinister X
After practically crippling Mr. Crowbar at the last show, Abyss has vowed to plow through the competition no matter what size they are. After hearing such a challenge, former CSWF heavyweight champion Sinister X was there to answer the call as he was quoted in saying: “Come pick on someone your own size...LIKE ME! If you even dream of crippling Sinister X, you better wake up and apologize!” Enough said!

The better story will be in the locker room when it comes to this match. How will Jarrett and Abyss interact with each other? Sinister X might as well call himself Generic Big Man X, because that's what he offers in the ring. Look for Abyss to quickly win this.

Fisherman’s Death Match
Shark Boy vs. Ken Scampi
At last year's Fatal Attraction, Ken Scampi made a public statement by trapping Shark Boy in his fisherman's next and escorting him out of the arena. Now the Shark Boy is back for revenge as he smells blood deep in the water's of CyberSpace. Each corner of the ring will be equipped with fisherman supplies for both men to use as weapons throughout the match. Can Scampi pull of the ol' bait and switch or will Shark Boy drag his opponents body 20,000 leagues under the sea to sleep with the fishes? Any which way you look at it, we're gonna need a bigger boat!

This match is either good or bad, depending on how you look at it. If you like comedy, you will like this match. If you are a Shark Boy fan, you will hate this match. This match will most likely be comedy and hide Shark Boy's ring skills. This whole feud started because Ken Scampi is a fisherman and he caught Shark Boy with a net. Holy 80s WWF Batman! The most surprising thing is that it took CSWF a year to get to this match. All that build-up for what looks like a comedy match. I'll take Shark Boy to go over in this one.

The Solution vs Josh Daniels and Mike "The Shooter" Kruel

This match has no build-up or hype at all going into it, which pretty much describes both teams. While all four guys are good wrestlers, all four are lacking character. I'd put Kruel above the rest of the wrestlers in this match, because fans are able to get into his intense style, but the other three are bland and don't give a reason for fans to get into them. Hopefully by the end of this match, all the fans are into all four of these guys. I'll take the Solution to win this match, as they are a real tag team, and not a thrown together team.

Julio Dinero vs Danny Jaxx

Hopefully this match is short. CSWF crowds have not taken well to Julio Dinero and his super long promos. Jaxx recieved a big match against Luger last month, so I think his stock will continue to rise in CSWF, with a win over Julio here.

Also appearring: Jimmy Rave, Mistress Asia, Reefer, Sonjay Dutt, MANA, Mason Raige, Tara Charisma, Dan Barry, Cindy Rogers, and more.

ALL THIS ACTION AND MUCH MORE as the CyberSpace Wrestling Federation returns on SATURDAY NIGHT, JANUARY 8TH 2005 at the Wayne PAL Building in Wayne, NJ.

Final McWord
This looks like it could be one of the better CSWF shows of all time. My biggest problem personally, is that CSWF could be doing so much more with what they have. You have the NWA TNA Heavyweight champion on your show. Instead of using him in something meaningful, you throw him in a meaningless 6 man tag that will mean nothing in the long term. CSWF has built up the Slyck/Shane feud, but with a name as big as Jarrett, I'd definitely do Jarrett vs Slyck for the CSWF Heavyweight title. Putting Slyck in a major match like that would make CSWF strong, especially if their champion put up a great fight against the third biggest heavyweight champion in America today. If CSWF didn't want to do that, I'd do Jarrett vs anyone for the NWA Heavyweight Title. How good would CSWF look having a NWA TNA Heavyweight title defense on their show? Jarrett is the replacement for Lex Luger, so I give CSWF credit for finding a more than suitable replacement, but at the same time they should've shuffled up the line-up to reflect the replacement. CSWF is not getting the most out of Jarrett by putting him in a 6 man tag. To me, it's another waste of money on CSWF's part. Luger in a 6 man makes sense, since he blows up easily, but Jarrett is a guy who can carry a great main event and should be booked accordingly.

The politics on this show should be very interesting as well. You have Vince Russo first off, making his retirement speech at CSWF. Russo is known for his "zany worked-shoots" so who knows what the hell he'll say. You also got Jarrett and Abyss together for the first time since Abyss walked out of TNA. There should be some big stories coming out of the show inside and outside of the ring.

The show looks solid on paper, and looks like one of the strongest CSWF shows of date. I think when it's all said and done however, CSWF's February show, "SUPERBRAWL" will be even bigger.

This show has alot of positive buzz going for it. I know alot of fans from all over are coming to check out Jeff Jarrett make his CSWF debut. This show should be a good start in what should be a good year for the CSWF. Hopefully CSWF can live up to the enormous potential they have, and work out some of the (booking) problems they had in 2004.
