McPinions
By: Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey
Motherfucker, I had this whole thing written out and all of a sudden, I hit some magical key and it erases everything and it can't be brought back. I don't know what the fuck causes it, but sometimes on my computer everything will get erased if I slip and some key that wipes out everything.
Instead of it being 3:30 AM, it is now 5 AM and I'm Sean The Angry Drunken UnDwarf. Welcome to the NYWC McPreview. I typed it out before, now I got to type it out all again. Shit. Anyway, the reason I'm up so late, (now so early) is because I'm Cinco De Mayo'ed out. Yes, us Irish people do celebrate this holiday, as it is an excuse to walk around drunk in daylight.
Frequent urination urges have kept me up, so I figured I'd bang this report out. I also learned from Mr. Zevon the reasoning of Cinco De Mayo. Apparently, Cinco De Mayo is Mexico's way of celebrating beating the crap out of France in some war. Imagine if every holiday was dedicated to some country beating France in a war? There would be a holiday every day! Shit, enough joking about France, as their military is enough of a joke. I now present to you my NYWC McPreview.
This should be an interesting show for NYWC, as they are coming off one of their most highest attended shows of all time. Will that crowd come back for more? Also, there are no signs of Al Snow or Marty Jannetty on this show, two guys who have been surprises for NYWC. Will there be a name surprise like other shows? Can NYWC find "the thing" to top the Pyscho Circus? What match will steal the show? Will Jimmy James have camel toe? Will Dickie Rodz hold anyone down? These are some questions going in. All of them will be answered on May 8th, in Deer Park Long Island. Now, here is a match by match preview.
NYWC CHAMPIONSHIP
Nuke w/ Tommy King vs. Mikey Whipwreck (c)
I really, I swear, had a nice 6 paragraphs on this match. Like any writer, it's frustrating
to write the same shit all over again. I will say this though, this match might be a bigger
test for Mikey than Nuke. This will be Mikey's test to see if he can get a good match out of
anyone. I think Nuke has been rushed to this spot. With Tyler Payne saying in a recent DOI interview
that NYWC is no longer a student/graduate show, I honestly can't see Nuke representing a solid
indy promotion as champion. At least, yet. Let's not forget that NYWC is all about going against
the grain and are chockful of surprises. Could Nuke be one of those surprises? This will be Nuke's
biggest match ever in NYWC. He'll have bigger in the future. I think Mikey wins this match.
If Nuke does good here, look for him to stay around this level and maybe get a rematch soon.
If Nuke, pardon the pun, bombs, look
for him to enjoy a healthy feud with Armand Dermuerto.
NYWC LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Jay Lethal vs. Grim Reefer (c)
This will probably be your match of the night, as I think this will steal the show. Jay Lethal
has won 3 out of the last 5 McMatch of the Weekends in the McRankings section, and he might go
4/6 here. Lethal has really been on a strong role. Reefer is one of those guys who can have a
good match with absolutely anyone. This should be a strong singles match. NYWC has been
fantastic about giving matches that look strong on paper adequate time. I see that trend
continuing here. Reefer has just won that belt, so I don't see him losing it just yet. I'll
take Reefer to win this 20 or so minute match.
DOG COLLAR GRUDGE MATCH
Dan Barry vs. Dickie Rodz
Um... does anyone know why these guys are fighting? Does anyone know why these guys have so
much beef that it has to be settled in a Miss Sinfu....errr Dog Collar match? This feud
has really come out of left field. I do think the match can steal the show. Both these
guys are NYWC staples, so look for them to really turn it up a notch. The Dickie Rodz character
feels like it has seen more heel/face turns than Lex Luger.
Dickie Rodz hasn't been a favorite on the message boards in recent times. This can be the chance
for him to redeem himself and put the proverbial keyboard in the proverbial fake posters
asshole. Dan Barry and his big head are crowd pleasers, and he should keep that legion of
Barryamaniacs, led by Briana Bryans going strong. I see Dan Barry winning this
match. Hopefully both men move onto different feuds after this.
NYWC INTERSTATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Chief Dudley vs. Tyler Payne (c)
Ugh. Chief Dudley? NYWC must be really bare in the Interstate Title contender department.
I'd rather see someone like Striker or Damian Dragon in this spot. Tyler Payne should win this
match hands down. I'm guessing with the three above matches, that they didn't want to take
any focus off that with a strong Interstate Title match. Tyler Payne needs to elevate the
NYWC Interstate Championship before it becomes WWF "Europeanized".
NYWC TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
Matt Stryker & Rob Eckos vs. Wayne & Ru Starr (c)
Despite the spelling on the NYWC website, the Striker you will be seeing tonight does not
come with a unibrow. It does however, come with a gerbil. Ha! Striker is very promiscuous when
it comes to tag team wrestling as it seems he has 5 or 6 partners all over the indy scene.
For everyone counting out there, the over-under on the Rob Eckos BC is 3. What's the Rob Eckos
BC? Ask Danny Demanto or Supreme Lee Great. Wayne and Ru Starr are the loveable team who didn't
like each other early on, but found true friendship later on. They are chums, they are pals,
and they are champions. Maybe a title loss will change all that? Maybe, but now is not the time.
I see Wayne/Ru holding onto the belts. I'd like to see the Striker-Eckos team break up with a
loss here. Striker is more valuable as a singles contender than part of a tag team that will
wind up never going anywhere. This match should be good.
Curse & Tony Burma vs. Mayhem & The Ratpak
No, the Ratpak isn't Dana Dameson and her merry hoochies. Just kidding Dana! This has been one
of NYWC's better angles, meaning the formation of the Ratpak. The Ratpak are disgruntled
NYWC students trained by Mike Mayhem, who have all revolted against Curse. The one thing I see
with this match, is that the master of the Burmalocity might get lost in the shuffle by
taking place in a John Curse feud. I see Mayhem/Ratpak winning, setting up the inevitable
Curse vs Mayhem rematch.
Mike Tobin vs. Southern Vinny Stylin'
This should be a good match. Tobin has been lighting up the indy scene. SVS has been the
recipient of some nasty posts on the cough WORLD FAMOUS cough USAPW board. Question: What has
SVS done? Answer: Ask Jimmy James. Tobin has been really moving up no matter what promotion he
is in. SVS has been in a downward spiral ever since losing the NYWC Interstate championship.
I see both trends continuing on May 8th, with Tizzle having the sizzle to rid that nizzle
Vizzle out of a victizzle. Or Tobin wins.
Disturbed Damien Dragon & Foxxy Dreams vs. All About Us
This should be an interesting match. All you wrestling mathmeticians out there must be pondering
if Foxxy will be the weak link in this match. I'm wondering if All About Us will be mildly
entertaining. Let's not forget that this is team that got together only because the last two
letters in their last name are the same. Hopefully Disturbed Dreams win this match and Dragon
moves up the NYWC ladder. Dragon has had some good matches in NYWC with talent not on his level,
and I see that trend continuing here. Man there are alot of fucking trends in NYWC!
The Solution w/ John Shane vs. Affirmative Action w/ Prince Charles
One question is will the match on the outside be better than the match on the inside? I hope
John Shane smacks the teeth out of Prince Charles. Maybe he'll opt to spank him instead. Who
knows? Another question is, how radical will Papadon get? Affirmative Action have
been on the recieving end of a big push in NYWC. Will The Solution stop it? The Solution, despite
being former NYWC Tag Champions for 10 minutes, have been on a nowhere path in NYWC. Hopefully
they change that May 8th and get the opportunity to save a fledging tag team division. This
match can go either way, but I'll ride The Solution's recent success (JAPW/SSCW/IWA tag champs)
to propel them to a win over the less experienced AA. Speaking of AA...
Los Luchas Hermanos w/ Tara Charisma vs. Chris Chetti & Danny Doring
I've read elsewhere that Danny Doring is booked somewhere else. I'm not 100% sure, so if I'm
wrong, NYWC can sure as hell correct me. Either way, this match isn't a make or break match
about going to this show. The show will be exciting and worth going to. If it wasn't, I wouldn't
waste my time writing this again. Either way, Los Luchas have been on a hot streak and I see
that continuing tonight. Memo to Spyder: Slow down. Your matches are better that way.
PLUS MUCH MORE... ONLY AT NYWC RAMPAGE!
Yikes! That means a fat 16 year old kid wearing a Mike Tobin shirt doubling up as a bell ringer.
Let's not forget he's also the latest UWA referee lol.
Final McWord
This could be a key NYWC show. There are alot of good matches on this, and it should be interesting
to see where NYWC goes. The NYWC product has done a great job of catering to families, as
well as internet fans, to give that wrestling blend to satisfy everyone. I think something
big will happen at this show. I don't know what, but I just think something will happen to
create a buzz.
Don't forget the usual DOI Wackpack Tailgate party will take place. I'm not 100% sure, but I think such esteemed humanitarians as myself, Dexter Weiner, Slingblade Carl, Fat Bastard, Jimmy James, Robert Payes and others will be joining the pre-show festivities. Feel free to donate some beer to our party by getting to the parking lot around the 5 PM time. Just beware the security guards who are looking for some action and want to kill these parties lol.
This show, NYWC, is May 8th.
Doors open I believe at 7 PM.
The address is 41 Homer Ave, in Deer Park, NY

I know I go there at least once a day to steal one of Nick Vrona's pictures!
