McPinions
By: Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey

Woooooooooooooooooooo! Welcome to another McPinions here on the DOI website. This time I will be going through, and predicting the upcoming HUGE Samoan Cup that is going down this Sunday in Sciota, PA. For all the information check out the DOI main page.

Well the brackets are announced so I'll go through these matches round by round, with who I think is advancing, in the later rounds.

First Round
BRACKET A

Natural Born Sinners vs Goodfellas
NBS in a squash. I don't see this being a wrestling match as much as I see it being a royal ass whipping for The Goodfellas. Let's face it these Goodfellas aren't Pesci and Deniro. I don't think anyone is picking against the NBS in this match. I am looking forward to the NBS coming back and kicking ass.

The Island Tribe vs Hot N Sexy
I think Mana and Samu are the heavy favorites to win this tournament. Not only do they have the size, power, experience and skill to win this tournament, they also have the Samoan heritage factor. I'll take the Island Tribe to easily dispose of Hot N Sexy.

All Money Is Legal vs SAT
This might be the best first round match up, from a pure wreslting standpoint. This match might steal the first round. This will be a test for AMIL if they can hang with an international tag team like the SAT. I think the SAT win this match, but AMIL come out the true winners.

Mikey Whipwreck/Wayne vs The Coastbusters
Never heard of the Coastbusters. I think if they were that over I would've heard of them by now. I'll take the more familiar Mikey/Wayne team to win this match and move on.

First Round
BRACKET B

The Untouchables w/Luscious Lily vs The Christopher Street Connection
This will be an interesting first round match. What role will Lily play? The Untouchables have been on a downward spiral since losing the WXW Tag Team titles. I will take my favorite fags, besides Carmine Sabia (zing!) The CSC to pick up the win and move onto the second round.

The Fabulous Trailers vs Outcast Killahs
I'm not familiar with The Fabulous Trailers. I am familiar with OCK. OCK have done alot of good things in ROH. I see OCK beating The Fabulous Trailers.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz vs All Knighters
These guys have had a good match in the past. This might be the most evenly matched first round match up, as I can see either team going on. I'll take the All Knighters to win with the loyal WXW fans behind them. Although it would be interesting to see DRS vs Solution...

The Solution w/"The Sure Thing" John Shane vs The Ivy League w/Rob Dimension
The battle on the outside might steal the match, as two great managers go head to head. This is like Haku/Barbarian w/Bobby Heenan vs The Hart Foundation w/Jimmy Hart. The real test will be how Dimension measures up to Shane on the outside. Will Mike Tobin of the Ivy League interfere? Questions questions questions, and the answer will be told on Sunday. I'll take the Solution to win this match in the battle of heels.

Second Round
BRACKET A

The Island Tribe vs Natural Born Sinners
Probably the hardest match except the finals to predict. How do the NBS lose, these guys are fucking insane! The Island Tribe are freaking monsters, so it's tough to see them lose. I don't see Homicide giving the cop killa in this match. I'm taking the Samoan factor and for Mana/Samu to channel the energy of legendary Samoans like Afa/Sika to get the win. Maybe a dq for excessive violence by Natural Born Sinners?

Mikey/Wayne vs The SAT
This can be a very interesting match. Mikey has had a hand in the SAT's career. These guys have done battle before so this should come out as a good match. The SAT are at a disadvantage in this match, due to the show being held in a building with a small ceiling. There is no chance to hit The Spanish Fly, so the SAT will need to find another way to win. I think they will find a way, and move on to the third round.

Second Round
BRACKET B

The Christopher Street Connection vs The Outcast Killahs
This will be a unique match up between two different styles. While some people consider the CSC a comedy team, don't forget they can wrestle their asses off when needed. I think the CSC outfreak and outwrestle the OCK to advance in the tournament.

The Solution vs The All Knighters
The Solution have defeated The All Knighters in the past, at IWA PA. I say they are able to duplicate that success here and move into the final four. I think Solution have the All Knighters beat in every category, from size to strength to experience to skill, and should be able to make quick work of The All Knighters.

Third Round
BRACKET A

The Island Tribe vs The SAT This smells like a MLW match. I think The Island Tribe will really turn it up here. Like I said before, the SAT are a disadvantage due to the small ceiling and will see their high flying minimized. I think The Island Tribe will be able to ground the SAT and pick up the win sending them into the finals.

Third Round
BRACKET B

Solution w/John Shane vs The Christopher Street Connection
I've seen this match 50 times and not once have I walked away not entertained. I think the CSC have the better record between the two teams in head to head competition. I see that margin getting smaller, with The Solution winning with an assist from John Shane.

Fourth and FINAL Round
BRACKET A vs BRACKET B
To determine the first ever winners of the Samoan Cup

The Island Tribe vs The Solution w/John Shane
Past WXW booking tends to favor The Island Tribe. It would also make sense to have faces win this tournament, as well as home grown talent. Add in that it will look good in a couple of years to see Samoans won the first ever Samoan Cup, I don't see The Island Tribe losing. I think the most sensible finish would be Afa himself punking out Shane giving the Island Tribe win and the fans going home happy. I really truly feel that The Solution are the most underrated tag team today and need this win to cement them in the same breath as The Briscoes and The Backseats. They have gone to the finals of the JCW Tag Team Tournament, without John Shane, so Shane can be huge in this match. The Island Tribe, just because they are Samoan, can't be counted out either. Samu has more experience than most of these teams combined. What other team can say they held the WWF Tag Team Titles? Holy shit moment: As I'm writing this, my SAMU WWF Hasbro Wrestling figure fell off the shelf that it was displayed on. Can that be a sign? Can that be an omen? Actually no it's not, my cat climbed up and knocked him down, along with Kamala and Nailz. So what's my final decision? I will go out on a limb and take Solution to get the upset win shocking everyone in indy wrestling land.

The Wild Samoans, headed by Afa, are one of the most successful families in wrestling. While other families in wrestling have seen lots of hardship, the Samoans have always been close knit and all about respect and quality wrestling. I think that will be passed on here in this tournament. I normally don't do this, but I am urging everyone to check out this show. This is the PREMIER indy tag team tournament today. With a high attendance, this event is guaranteed to become annual and will advance the careers of tag teams. With Saturday having JAPW and CSWF, this weekend is full of great fucking wrestling, and you'd have to be an idiot, or someone with alot of family responsibilities to miss it.

Don't forget Dirty Sanchez at http://www.dirtysanchezhotsauce.com - He has fabulous food there, and his restaurant will be open during the cup and during intermission. I'm telling you I have an explosive stomach, and his bbq is the only bbq that doesn't leave me with toilet paper hanging off my shoe!

I'll be back later on this week with "It was Super now it's pretty great NJ Saturday!"
