Hey what up everyone, and thanks for checking this column out. ALOT has been going on today.
I know alot of the news and opinion sites have been quiet about this, and letting this issue
play out, but I have recieved literally 50+ ims and emails asking about what's going on. The message boards have literally been on fire, as the DOI board received a record amount of hits, as well as the Death Valley Driver Board, where the thread about this has received over 10,000 views.
Here
is my take and I hope no one is offended by this.
Rob Feinstein has been accused of attempted pedophilia. There was a chat transcript available at http://www.perverted-justice.com where someone from that site pretended to be a 14 year old boy. This 14 year old boy, who is really an adult looking to set up internet perverts, had lengthy conversations with Rob. For those who don't know, the Perverted Justice site is a site dedicated to busting internet perverts who crave on having sex with children. I wasn't aware that this site existed. For more on Perverted Justice, I grabbed this from their Mission Statement.
Mission Statement and Site Philosophy
We at perverted-justice.com want to be clear about our intentions, so we've drafted a mission statement and Site Philosophy. After reading these, you should have a better idea of what we're all about.
Since the inception of this website, all sorts of accusations have been levied against the individuals associated with it. We've been called perverts, we've been accused of entrapment, we've been told we were breaking the law, that we were being sued, and a million other moronic things. There has been much debate, in certain chat circles, as to what motivates those of us who maintain and update this website to go after these wanna-be pedophiles with such rabid, vicious determination.
So here, finally, is the real reason we created this website:
IT'S WRONG TO TRY TO FUCK LITTLE KIDS!
Maybe that's not clear enough, let's try it this way...
IT'S WRONG TO WANT TO FUCK LITTLE KIDS!
And too many people are using the internet as a hunting ground for the bodies of children. These individuals are those that we have profiled here at what we call The PeeJ, they go onto chats and engage in conversations designed to meet these teens and sometimes pre-teens. Their conversations are here, with a twist. Read some and you'll get it.
So our mission statement here is quite simple really-
"To root out and bring to light those who would use the internet as a way to sexually abuse children, to brighten the darkened corner of the internet from which they wish to prey upon small children."
Everything else- the humor in the files, the commentary, the obvious panache- is just gravy, baby.
Site Philosophy
The philosophy behind this website is almost as simple as the mission statement, but not quite. See, there are a lot of individuals out there that share our goals, a lot of organizations that do as well. However, unlike some organizations that thinks fighting against wannabe pedophiles in "sexual" chat rooms is a good idea, we take a different tact.
We're not saying the people in those sexual rooms who would express desire to have sex with an underage female is a good person. Not at all. However, how many fourteen, thirteen, twelve year olds that you know who use the 'net would be in a position to enter a room like that? Parents for the most part, are not stupid. Typically a 10-15 year old doesn't have her computer in an area where they can get away with being in one of those rooms, and more to the point, generally do not have a motivation to enter a "sexual" chat room anyways. Those who would prey on young females know this. They know where to go to find underage females that they can gain easy access to. It doesn't take ability to go "undercover" in a porn/sex room. And it doesn't have the positive effect of taking away the most ready well for wannabe pedophiles to go after underage people.
No, it is Regional Chat Rooms at the core of Perverted-Justice.com's philosophy. Think about it. A guy lives in Chicago. He goes to Yahoo. He goes into a Chicago room. There are thousands of individuals that pass through that room daily, and many of those thousands are underage. It is akin to this person being let into the presence of a field of underage individuals and there he sits, behind the "safety" of his computer screen. A child that tells their parent that they're chatting with people who live in the same city has a much easier time of being allowed to stay in that chatroom. It's seen as a social outlet, something natural. Some people may even be so obtuse to believe that it's safer because it is local. After all, how many people really associate wanton evil with the people next door?
This is where we come in. We wish to take away a little bit of that "safe anonymity" wannabe pedophiles think they enjoy. We don't target those who want to get their dirty fantasies out by talking in a sex room, we want to get those who want to hook up with an underage person in a local room where they will meet people who are often-times within half an hour of where they live. Regional chat rooms are the most ready and opportune place for a person with ill intent to roost, and we aim at poisoning those rooms for those people. We expose people who take the initiative in messaging people they believe to be underage for the purposes of meeting them. We shine the harsh light of public accountability upon their intent and actions. It's a battle fought on the local level, against very possible real threats.
We let the interested come to us, individuals close to their potential victims. Then after they're done pathetically trying to get an underage person, we hit them with our own brand of Justice. We tell them that tomorrow, everyone in that local room will know of what that person tried to do. See, Regional Rooms typically are very cliquey places, where people become "regulars" and get to know each other very well. Exposing individuals in those rooms brings a secondary effect of ostracization from that online community. And ostracization from there means that they won't have that local, regional avenue in which to prey upon your children.
Our philosophy is to hit the most opportune areas for these sorts of perverts, then to flip the table on them, shine a light on them, and watch them scurry deeper into the recesses of the 'net, minimizing their chances of running into an actual minor online. That's our philosophy behind what we do, hopefully it's clear enough for all to understand it.
Well there you have it, that’s what Perverted-Justice.com is all about. The website is legit. It’s a business. By putting up a fake conversation of Rob Feinstein, they subject themselves to being sued for slander and libel. After doing some research about the site, I found out that the site has never been wrong and has done quite a job of getting internet perverts in jail. A few people have been arrested and jailed by some of Perverted-Justice’s work. A possibility that came up, is that maybe Perverted-Justice rigged the name by just making up a conversation, or having someone IM them under the name RFWRESTIING (with an I) and try to bust Feinstein. By looking into Perverted-Justice’s past, they don’t have a record of creating fake conversations, so I can’t see them starting now. But while Perverted-Justice is legit, there is no way to prove that the person who was under Rob Feinsteins name as RFWRESTLING was in fact, Rob Feinstein.
For all that we know, someone could’ve hacked the RFWRESTLING AOL IM name, by asking for a password. With success comes envy from others. Rob Feinstein is liked by many people, but also despised by many people. It’s not far-fetched that a hater tried to set up RF by either using his screen name or even emailing America Online, saying they were the owner of the RFWrestling name and forgot the password.
Let’s be honest, it is flat out stupid and wrong, to go into a homosexual chatroom looking for little boys to prey on. It’s even stupider to go under your company’s name. If you were out to get someone, a good trick would be to put someone’s IM name in a gay room for shits and giggles. Whether or not this happened here, I don’t know. I honestly don’t see how someone could put their company in jeopardy, as well as their reputation by going into a chat room like that under their real name.
Well this theory seemed fine and looked like it was the truth, until about 6 PM today. Apparently this story has been picked up by NBC 10 in Philadelphia, PA, the same state where this alleged crime took place. Remember, everyone’s innocent until proven guilty. Perverted-Justice has an agreement with NBC and they showed NBC what they are doing. The local affiliate of NBC has picked up this story and is set to air it at 11 PM. From still images and by watching the commercial for the story, there seems to be a person who looks like Rob running away from the camera, and into his silver Lexus. The same silver Lexus that Rob said he had not only in his live journal, but in his conversation with the person pretending to be a 14 year old boy.
Just to backtrack a second. Rob currently has a live journal where he gives updates on what’s going on his life. The same stuff that was in this live journal appeared in the conversation to the fake 14 year old. It’s not wild to imagine that someone read the live journal, and planted these facts to the fake 14 year old. Someone could have legit got the RFWrestling name, read the journal, and set up Rob like this. But then we get to the commercial, with a guy who looks like Rob Feinstein running to a silver Lexus.
So did Rob REALLY do this? Well only 2 people know for sure, and that’s Rob, and that’s the person who set him up. It might look like I’m defending an alleged attempted child molester, but in reality, I’m trying to present all angles of the story. The problem I see in Rob’s future is this- whether he did it or not, this is going to be tough to shake.
I was originally going to write a column about negativity in pro wrestling and why it’s there, and I probably still will write that column. This column is a perfect example of negativity in pro wrestling. Right now, message boards are on fire. People are delighted about Feinstein’s misfortune. Some are skeptical. Some are taking a wait-and-see approach and some are celebrating this like it’s Christmas. If this winds up being true, it will be another bruise on the body of pro wrestling, a body that already has too many bruises due to lies, deceit, deaths and other misfortune.
Ring of Honor, owned by Rob Feinstein, is considered the number two promotion today by a lot of people. While there has been no evidence of police involvement yet, if Rob is guilty of this, the Ring of Honor promotion will face a rough and rocky road. ROH is the internet’s promotion. The internet fans compromise a solid majority of ROH shows. The internet fans are the ones buying all the tapes, all the shirts and all the other merchandise. If this winds up being proven that he did in fact do it, many people will no longer support ROH with Rob there, due to moral conflicts. It’s pretty obvious that no one wants to give their money to a pedophile.
The problem though is even though he may have not done this, and is a victim of being set up, people are always going to second guess him, at least in the short-term. People will be questioning his sexuality constantly. His sexuality shouldn’t even be an issue, but it will be, because pro wrestling is a sport, and many athletes, as do fans, ignorantly find this offensive. While the sexuality issue will be hard to shake, being accused of being a pedophile is even worse.
The PTC crashed down on the WWF for a while for their lewd and raucous TV, in the PTC’s eyes. Many radical groups protested at many WWF shows due to their programming at the time. Advertisers pulled their money out of the WWF due bad publicity. You got this fucking asshole on the New York Post, named Phil Muschnick reaming the WWE for the past 10 years. You know he’ll use any material he can to bash the sport of pro wrestling. Wrestling is already seen in a negative light by many people, and if the main stream media picks this up, wrestling will still be looked like a disgusting business by non-watchers.
While I truly, deep down, don’t believe Rob is guilty of this, he’s got an uphill battle ahead of him. There has been no solid proof that he actually did this. There has been sketchy things and a lot of circumstantial evidence showing that Rob may have done this, but he’s innoncent until proven guilty in my eyes.
Gabe Sapolosky in a Ring of Honor chat tonight, announced despite these allegations, Ring of Honor will still be running their show on March 13, in Elizabeth, NJ. With a presale of over 800, Ring of Honor is running strong, and hopefully they can blow past this obstacle.
For the sake of pro wrestling, and as a die hard wrestling fan, I hope this isn’t true. For if it is, I think Rob will have to leave ROH for ROH to survive financially.
ROH hasn’t made a statement about all these allegations. They even closed down their message board to make sure nothing gets posted on their official board about this. Other news sites have refused to comment about this, and while I’m not looking to be a renegade about commenting on this, I do want the loyal readers of the DOI to know that we’re not side-stepping this issue nor ignoring it.
To the Ring of Honor Fans- Keep supporting ROH. There has been nothing proven yet, and this could be a scam. Whether or not it is proven that Rob did this, ROH has revolutionized pro wrestling in the last 2 years. While I do understand the moral issue, keep in mind the wrestlers who are busting their ass for you and who have busted their asses in the last 2 years for your entertainment. They need their paydays to live and money to survive by wrestling. ROH has done a lot of good for wrestling, so before boycotting ROH, I would recommend taking a wait and see approach.
To Rob- Hopefully this isn’t true, and here’s to hoping you can clear your name.
To everyone else reading- Thank you for reading this and feel free to discuss this topic on the DOI message board.
Well, it looks like NBC is reporting that is true. I hope to hear what RF has to say about this matter sooner than later. This is a shame for Rob who has been doing great things as of late. I find these actions disgusting and horrid but at the same time I am NOT singling ROH as a company who does this, but Rob Feinstein as someone who did this. Children are supposed to enjoy wrestling, not become victims of it.
As a wrestling fan, hopefully Rob will square away this issue and be honest. As far as ROH goes, I hope that Gabe and Doug can take the reigns as Rob goes through his problem, and continue to put on great wrestling shows.
Time will tell what happens. I’ve always found Gabe and Doug to be great guys and very knowledgeable. I know they can turn this negative into a positive. Good luck to them as they try to clear this mess out before 3/13.
Someone has uploaded the NBC report:

This is the NBC report. To see it with your own eyes, check it out.
More on this come.
Keep checking the message board for continuous updates.
