McPinions
By: Sean “The MiC” McCaffrey
CSWF has started to build a foundation in NJ after having 3 less than stellar shows. Things started picking up for CSWF when they announced a working relationship with NWA-TNA. With respected announcer Mike Tenay leading a TNA invasion with leading TNA stars such as Ron Killings, America’s Most Wanted, Trinity, Shark Boy, Michael Shane and others, CSWF has became the only independent promotion to have such a relationship with what is considered by many as the number 2 promotion in America.
CSWF has benefited greatly with their relationship with TNA and has seen their show quality improve show after show. What was considered just another indy fed found an identity and has produced good nights of wrestling. With that said, here are my predictions for the show:
CSWF Heavyweight Title Rematch
Ron "The Truth" Killings (Champion) vs Slyk Wagner Brown (Challenger) w/April Hunter Commissioner Larry Zbyszko will serve as Special Referee
At the last show, Ron Killings defeated Slyk. Will Slyk be able to win another Jersey Heavyweight title? Logic would say yes, but I smell a Larry Zybszko heel turn thus giving Ron Killings another victory over Slyk Wagner Brown. Either way, this should be a great match and I’m looking forward to it.
How was that for getting the word “thus” on the DOI?
#1 Contenders Match for the Tag Team Titles
Americas Most Wanted (Chris Harris & James Storm) vs The Solution (Papadon & Havok) w/"Sure Thing" John Shane
Both tag teams have a legit claim to the CSWF Tag Team Championships. Both won matches making them number 1 contenders. I’m a fan of seeing the home grown, or in this case local talent, win big time matches. I believe it elevates their career and creates new stars. This should be the biggest and toughest match for the Solution in their career. They have never faced a team that featured two wrestlers bigger then them and who can wrestle at a high level. This should be a great match, and a sleeper match of the night. I’d like to see Solution win with interference from Shane, but I’m going to take AMW to win cleanly in a great match.
Internet Title Match
"The Alpha Male" Justin Powers (Champion) vs Crazy Ivan (Challenger) w/Mistress Asia
Why Ivan has an Asian manager is beyond me. If anything, Johnny Bravado should have a Chinese manager. I’ll take Ivan to defeat the lesser Justin Powers and become new Internet champion. CSWF should put a parental block on their site the second Ivan becomes Internet champion as well.
Get it? Internet Champion, racist talk, ah fuck it, that was bad lol.
To Determine The New Cruiserweight Champion
Dan Barry w/Mistress Asia vs Michael Shane
This should be an explosive match up. Shane is considered to the top cruiserweight in the world today, and has had a lengthy reign as the NWA TNA X-Champion. Dan Barry has looked good himself, winning the SSCW and NYWC Cruiserweight championships, as well as appearing in the 2003 J-Cup. I’m going to say Michael Shane wins this bout, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a Dan Barry upset to pull a trifecta of cruiserweight championships in the NY/NJ area.
Women's Title Match
Trinity (Champion) vs Ariel (Challenger) w/April Hunter as Special Guest Referee
Two special referee matches on one show, aye carumba. Trinity and April have a somewhat feud in CSWF, so I’ll take Trinity to win this match, and something to set up Trinity vs April down the line.
MANA vs "Adrenaline" Brian Fury
Fuck it I’m biased. I’m taking Mana to win this match, because I don’t find Brian Fury believable enough to beat Mana. Mana is a great wrestler and doing great things in WXW and I’m sure NJ fans will know what I’m talking about after this match.
The Young Bluds (Tyler Payne & Romeo Valentino) vs Showtime Shawn Sheridan & mystery partner
Who will Sheridans partner be? Going by what goes down in NJ indy wrestling, I will say Shawn Sheridan’s partner will be his JCW/SSCW partner, Dave Greco. I’m a big fan of Tyler Payne’s work, he should be able to shine in this match. I’ll take Sheridan/Mystery Partner to win this match.
Four Corners Elimination – Winner gets Title Shot
Rapid Fire Maldonado vs Grim Reefer w/”Strangler” Nick Maddox vs “Platinum” Mike Preston vs “Virgin Slaya” Curt Daniels w/Andy Jaxx & Tara Charisma
I don’t know what title this is for, I’m guessing the Heavyweight. I will take Reefer to win this match, as I think he has the least chance of winning. Reefer would be great in a heavyweight title feud and I would liken him to Eddie Guerrero.
Fire & Smoke(Smokey M. & Billy Firehawk) w/Vanity vs The Himalaya Players
I predict I will go get some beer during this match, or piss some beer out. On the bright side, this is the only match I’d consider weak on the whole show. I’ll take Fire and Smoke to win this match, then blow some smoke with a post match interview.
Overall, this looks like a solid card. There are lots of good matches here that could go either way. It will be interesting to see what happens with the CSWF Championships. I really think Dan Barry and The Solution can really make a name for themselves on this show with good matches, despite winning or losing.
