McPinions

This will be more of a McRamblings then anything else. If you don't give a fuck about message boards, more power to you.

Yea I know I'm late, as I promised a midnight posting on the site, but life happens.
I was sitting here getting ready to pound out this 50 page essay about what has been going on in SSCW, Ricky O and more, then I got a phone call. On the other line was my dad who told me my grampa just died. I was thinking for a second, and realized that there are more important things then stupid message board posts and naked pictures. I knew my grampa was going to pass away sooner than later, because of his condition, but all I could think about was this stupid message board shit that is entertainment, and is supposed to be an afterthought in life. I wasn't going to write this, but I figured it was talked about. I got many ims and emails today and recieved alot of phone calls and IM's asking why the column wasn't up yet. It's also early in the AM and I can't sleep, so I figured I'd write this.

Ricky O. Right now, the only thing that emits more heat than him is the sun. I always got along with Ricky O. I thought he was a cool guy and put on great wrestling shows. I still think he does put on good wrestling shows. I've known Ricky and talked to Ricky frequently over the past year. We'd make jokes, fuck around, talk about wrestling and talk about shit that wasn't wrestling. Recently, Ricky O didn't agree with a review I did. (11/23) He thought I bashed and raped his show apart. I didn't see that. He was legit irritated over the review. He even told DOI CEO, Mike Zevon, "To start covering my shows cause MiC bashes them." Now if you go read that review and any other JCW review on the site, you'd see that I always was a fan of the JCW product, talent and overall show. I never once said his shows suck, nor thought so. I was honest in my attendance figures, and for fucks sake, I'm always honest in my reviews. I guess his anger was a price I had to pay for my honesty on the show. I thought it was good, but questioned some things. I was also wondering why Ricky would be pissed at me because of a review, that talked about the whole entire show, and ran down every single thing, including every match and upcoming shows. Eric Walker on his site, didn't even talk about the show and talked about a backstage incident. I asked Ricky why he would beef with me about my review, when I actually covered the show, whereas Walker, a JCW employee (Which I was later told was not), said the show was bad and talked about an isolated backstage incident with now former JCW Valet Noel. This has nothing to do against Eric Walker, as I do get along with the guy, and I think he does a fair job, even though too shillish at times, on his site, www.pwbts.com, but I had to wonder he was singling me out over Walker, when I wrote about every single fucking thing at the show. (And I don't get paid for this, it's a hobby) I witnessed the incident with Noel, and didn't put it on the DOI site, as it wasn't part of the show, and the DOI isn't used to promote negativity. (Did you see any mention of the charges, that were later dropped and proved to be bogus against Afa Jr on the site?) Ricky also told me, straight up to me, that he thought I was trying to bash JCW because of my work in SSCW. Well let's get onto that.

SSCW. Before there was a "MiC", before there was a loud mouthed drunk internet geek writer, there was Sean, who worked for SSCW. Before anyone knew who the fuck I was, I was part of SSCW. I've been working for Carmine Sabia and SSCW for 1 1/2 years now. I used to bounce ideas off of him, and helped spread the word for him around NY, before there was a DOI. The fact that he hired me after the recent falling out between Angel Martinez and himself came off as this huge travesty to alot of people. Why was Carmine hiring some drunk dirt sheet writer to be his booker? I've been friends with Carmine for 10 years come January, knowing him way before either one of us were involved in wrestling. The fact that he asked me to be his booker came as an honor to me, as I had no previous booker experience. The people in Carmine's inner circle weren't shocked, because they knew Carmine and I were friends for along time. As much as I love to make fun of Carmine for watching Wheel of Fortune or laughing at the bartender who ribs him at "Zig-Zags", I genuninely care about SSCw and the wellbeing of him, as he's been my friend for a longass time now. Carmine knows I care about SSCW and offered me the job, after no joke, 8-9 people refused it. Today, 8-9 people have asked Carmine for my job and asked for me to be removed from SSCW, because of my "lifestyles."

So what does this have to do with Ricky O? Well Ricky O thought I was bashing JCW and himself because I was part of SSCW. That was never the case. I know I wear two hats with my Editor job in the DOI and my booker spot in SSCW, but I'm careful never to blend the two. If I really wanted to be a dick about it, I wouldn't be giving press to JAPW, JCW, CSWF, JWA or any of the other NJ promotions that I go to, and cover for the DOI. In fact, I've gone on record and still believe that JAPW is the best promotion in New Jersey right now. If I really was trying to bury feds, I wouldn't be saying that. I will also say that I think SSCW has a legit chance and will try to stake claim to being the number 1 fed not just in NJ but in all of the Northeast coast. If a promotion, or promoter doesn't want to be number one and doesn't thrive to be number one, then you don't belong promoting shows anyway. (Unless you're a training school giving your students and graduates a place to develop.) So when Ricky O, said that I was trying to bash JCW on the DOI site, in SSCW's interests, I took that as an attack on my DOI work. I called Ricky O and told him I didn't do that, but I'm not sure if he believes me. The reason I even bring this incident up, is because I don't want any promotion, wrestler or anyone else thinking that just because I do the booking for Carmine in SSCW, that I will try to sabotage or shit on you on the DOI site.

The DOI is a powerful tool to help promote indy wrestling and it will stay this way. Every promotion will get burn, coverage, as long as we get sent press releases. I've attended and put up reviews for countless feds in an effort to get people into indy wrestling and for people to be aware of the great athletes all over the United States today.

Now, if it was just that, in terms to Ricky O, I probably wouldn't be posting this column. Recently, some asshole posted a picture of Ricky O, with former JCW valet Extacy in a compromising position. If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. I'll be honest, when I saw that picture, I did right click it and save it, because I'm a 21 year old drunk kid who enjoys female nudity. Sue me. Anyway this picture was posted, and was on the message board. Jay Goldberg, the DOI Managing (for lack of a better word) Editor pulled down the post, in fear of having the message board deleted for nudity on the board and for the concern of Ricky O. Later, after the fact, I talked to Ricky O, and we laughed and made some jokes about the picture. The picture was as harmless as a bachelor with a stripper. It was a funny picture nothing more nothing less. I asked Ricky straight up, and I did get it confirmed from other people, that Ricky wasn't "ratting" Extacy out. Extacy is a stripper who was taking pictures to be on an adult pay site. She was taking alot of naked pictures so she could start her adult porn website. There is nothing wrong with that at all. Ricky posed with his friend. A picture that was taken for two friends made their way to the DOI board.

Now fast forward a day. I hear from a very reliable source, then had it confirmed from someone else, that Ricky O said that I was the one who posted the picture. He also said that I emailed Brett Schwan (AKA "Schwanee, How I hate you, How I hate you, my dear old Schwanee") under a fake yahoo name with the picture attached. I was fucking pissed. I had no fucking clue that a picture such existed until it was on the DOI board. I sure as hell didn't email Schwanee with the fucking picture as I could care less what that guy does. (Although I did find his recent Open Forum hysterical) So I got really pissed. I called Ricky O, and he said that the person who emailed Schwan, presumably the person who posted the picture on the DOI Message Board, had an IP that traced back to Long Island, so it had to be me. Bullmotherfuckingshit. Let's be honest here, Ricky has been making lots of moves the past few weeks, firing people and talking about people openly. Everytime he had something to say to me, I called him out on it. I'll give that to Ricky. Everytime there is some stupid squabble, he is always there to talk about it. So I told Ricky straight up that I didn't do it, and don't know who did it. He thought maybe I didn't do it, but I know who did. I told him I don't. He told me that "MiC, I appreciate you calling me and clearing the air, but show me who did it, and I'd apologize to you and get the person who did it." I told him I couldn't show you who did it, cause I have no clue who posted it, or emailed Schwanee." He told me had to go and that was that. It didn't sound to convincing. Around 12:30 am tonight, Ricky O called me and we had an hour long conversation about this. He told me he doesn't think it's me, but would like to know if I heard who posted it or sent the email, I would agree to let him know. That sounds fine to me. I wouldn't care less, but people are trying to break up Ricky's family life up and that's a fucked up thing to do, and Ricky has every right to get the person who is now taking this picture, and trying to send it to his family in hopes of a calamity. After talking to Ricky and clearing the air and me telling him my side and him telling me his side, I figured it would be best to abort the plans of putting up the emails, ims, and phone calls from people who wanted to put some stuff about Ricky up. It's not worth it to me in the long run. The DOI is not about these stupid silly message board feuds.

Another valid point Ricky brought up was how come it was posted on the DOI board, as opposed to the WC board? Well let's be honest. The DOI has more than double the registered users on our message board and has about 50 or so guests that post on it. If you want to get something out to be read, you're going to post it on the message board that has the most activity.

I honestly don't care anymore what gets posted on the board. I just think it's sad that instead of focusing on making ourselves and the sport stronger and better, there are people that think this sport is decided on message boards. Instead of promoters coming up with bigger and better ways to draw fans and put on better shows and instead of wrestlers coming up with ways to better their gimmicks or ring work, they spend their time attacking each other on an internet behind fake names.

Speaking of fake posters and message boards, let me bring up the Frank Goodman topic. Frank Goodman recently went out and admitted to fake posting. He said he wasn't the only one who fake posts on the message boards. I can attest to what Frank Goodman posts, because we talk about it in jest. Frank Goodman does get blamed for alot of shit he doesn't post. I recently talked to him and we both agreed that all this stupid talk about these message boards is complete nonsense and a waste. Both of us, along with Mike Zevon recieve ims, calls and messages about who posted this and who posted that. Personally there is more to life than a message board post and I don't care who posted what. All I know is that eventually the suspect that wants to post personal things about Negro, Goodman, Jac Sabboth, Mike Zevon, myself and others will eventually slip.

Hey Mike Zevon interruption here:
I would like to take a moment to state that in recent days, I was led to believe that specific posts that were negative about myself, The MiC and other friends of mine that are in the business were going up on the USA Pro board and the DOI board were being made by Frank Goodman. Frank and I had a long discussion after and needless to say the conversation was one that was difficult. Why was it difficult? Well because Frank and I are friends. And someone attempted to place a wedge between us. Frank and I are very close and I am sorry that he had to plead his case to me. It was a waste of time and energy dealing with this crap. I am happy to say that Frank called me and the two of us cleared the air about all the questions we had regarding this ridiculous topic of fake posting. We both admit that we have indeed fake posted but we both DENY that we are the ones responsible for the derogatory and hurtful posts that have been going up as of late. So this is to just make it clear to anyone who thinks that we think Frank is responsible for the posts. We do not think that any longer and apoligize for thinking it and insinuating it from the beginning. Frank and The Funker (who is the USA Pro administrator) are both aware that it is not Sean or myself that is responsible for the negative threads being posted. Thank you and remember in 2004 we all deserve more.

The fact that I had to waste a column about this mind boggling but I had to get it off my chest.

Devin Sturgis made a great point when he said this, "Drama in the "lockerroom" is something fans never see. Why are we going to use a public arena like a message board to air out dirty laundry? Fans don't care about the drama one way or the other...they won't come if it is there and they won't stay away if it is there either. Fans want to see entertaining matches and characters and have a good time away from their regular lives. If we're supposed to be a profession, then let's act professionally and keep this garbage behind closed doors."

Some people have asked to make the DOI a register board only. The message board will not be changed and will be kept in its current format. I don't want to suck any of the fun out of it. Quite frankly, if people will believe some of the stuff that is written, then that's a different problem all together. When people callously lie about you to people, and the people tell you about it, it means that those people don't believe what the fuck that person is saying.

So bottom line:
No, I have no clue who posted about Ricky.
Yes, I think Ricky has lots of enemies right now that might do something.
Yes, Frank Goodman fake posts, but it's really only to promote USA PW wrestlers, with no harmful intentions. I mean Matt Striker has a gerbil up his ass is so ridiculous that it is hilarious. Ditto sturgeons found in Miss Sinful. No, I don't care about what goes on the message board.

So in closing, post whatever you want. Want to say I'm a racist? Go right ahead. Want to call Zevon a pot smoking jew? Have fun. Want to post about Jac and Franks personal lives? Knock yourselves out. You have a picture of Ricky 69ing Carmine? What the fuck is wrong with you sick fuck! Post what you want I don't care. I just dont want the people that I actually like and friends with thinking that I post harmful shit. The DOI message board is read by alot of people. Bad things will be posted. Ditto the USA board. I guess it's an honor if and keeps your name out if people are talking about you.

I really can't believe I wrote all this, but I'm glad it's said and done with. Will I fight with Ricky O again over something stupid? Most likely, but we will be able to come to amends because in the end, we just are two people who care passionately about wrestling and have no reserves over calling each other out. Will Frank Goodman fake post again? I hope so, because it usually is pretty funny.

On a positive note, look for huge changes in the DOI in the upcoming weeks. We have alot of things set on the table. We don't care about stupid feuds that don't concern us. Stupid shit has lost a little bit of focus from our main goal- promoting indy wrestling. We will be having alot of new products, columns, coverage and more. The DOI has really grown and we plan on taking advantage of that and helping everyone in indy wrestling.

Everyone enjoy JAP Wrestling this Saturday, Dec 13. (http://www.japw.net)
I won't be able to attend due to the funeral, but if someone can get me a tape, please email me, as I really want to see this show and put a review up for the DOI. Good luck to Fat Frank and I know he will have a fantastic show as usual. (Look and I'm the SSCW booker saying that!)

Don't forget to order your year end award issues from the DOI site. Zevon will most likely be at JAP and will have some issues on him.

Thanks for reading all this. To the people looking to read about wrestling, I'm sorry, and this will be one of the last columns like this on this site.
