When I was given the opportunity to join the Declaration
of Independents family, there was no way that I could turn down the opportunity.
So, I’d like to thank Mike Z and The Mic for the offer, and I hope that everyone
enjoys my articles in the future. Each article I write will more or less be
about what’s on my mind at the time about the world of Independent wrestling.
And today, I’d like to write about a worker who I feel is the most underrated
wrestler on the Indy scene today. This is none other than Cabbie.
If you don’t attend Classic Championship Wrestling shows in PA, or a few other
random Indy shows, you’ve probably never had the pleasure of seeing a Cabbie
match. I’ve been working with Cabbie for almost a year now, and with each match
he innovates and improves more and more. His style is unlike any other in professional
wrestling. It can most accurately be described as a mix of old school and technical
chain wrestling. If you’re a worker and getting ready for your first match with
Cabbie, the best advice I can offer is to make sure you stretch before the match,
because if you don’t Cabbie will do it for you. His submission moves are original
and sometimes mind-boggling. After watching him wrestle, you realize that those
body parts DO bend in the directions that you never thought were possible! He’s
also a master at ring psychology. Every move he does in the ring, is done for
a reason. His matches are not spot fests, but a story told over a period of
time.
Outside of the ring, Cabbie is one of the most down to earth people that you
could ever meet. He’s fan friendly, and is always seeking the wisdom of the
veterans on how to improve his game. His career is young, and I feel it’s just
a matter of time until he gets that one opportunity. And when he does, you can
bet he’s going to run with it. He’d definitely be an asset to any company. If
you’re a promoter and would like to see a tape of Cabbies work, e-mail me at
doc@fortnoxious.com and let me know.
That’s all for now loyal DOI followers. Look for my next article here on the
main page soon, and don’t forget to check me and my co-hosts Mike Trash and
JR Manitoba out on the newest Indy Radio show, Trash Talking, each Tuesday at
7 p.m. Visit www.fortnoxious.com/Trash/ for more information. Take it easy everyone.
