Pride Wrestling Canceled
From the "This should shock no one files", the DOI has gotten word that Eric Alverado's PRIDE Wrestling has canceled their 3/12 event. "Promoter" Eric Alverado must be trying to earn himself a Carmine Sabia reputation, as he sent out a mass text saying he couldn't get a doctor for the show. Of course, this news is the follow up to Eric canceling his January event, when he couldn't get a ring for the show.
Oh yea, Pride has now announced two shows already, both of which have been canceled. Eric has also stiffed several wrestlers, which was pointed out in a recent statement made by wrestler Corvis Fear.
The DOI didn't bother posting Pride press releases for the March show as we got wind from people who were booked by Eric that the show would never happen anyway. Nothing personal against Eric, but dude, just stop. It is very hard to be a wrestler. It is very hard to be a promoter. It is nearly impossible to do both jobs successfully.
To make matters worse, Pride Wrestling hasn't even announced to fans that the show has been canceled, even though Eric has known for a day that he was canceling the event. It is shows like these that hurt indy wrestling as a whole.
Oh and if that's not shady enough, Eric Alverado deleted his facebook page, the page he was using to promote the show on. What a fucking joke. It really makes me wonder if Eric realizes he killed all his credibility with any fans in the future. He definitely hurt his stock when it comes to dealing with wrestlers, as many people booked for Eric came to the DOI to angrily report about Eric.
More on this story to come.
