Results from the UWC show on May 2nd, 2004 at Burlington County College in Pemberton, NJ .........
Due to expected bad weather there were a few changes made to the card and 1 match had to be scratched, but still, with only 6 matches, UWC put on an entertaining 2 hour show today as part of the college's May fest. This is the 8th straight year the UWC has been part of the festival.
Match #1- Section 8 defeated Ed "The German" Kazar in the opening bout. Kazar seemed upset by the loss and seemed to be complaining to the referee that 8 had cheated.
Match #2- 08041 vs. Andy Christ ended in a no-contest. Don Montoya, with a cross on his forehead and a Bible in his hands, returned from a 6 month retirement and appeared during this match. He said he saw The Passion of the Christ a few months ago and it effected him emotionally. He said he was now returning to wrestling as to cleanse the indy workers of the world of their sins. His first 2 targets were convict 08041 and Andy Christ. He said they need to experience The Passion of Montoya and return to the back with him so he can change their ways. 08041 and Christ seemed to be entranced by Montoya and left the ring with him and headed to the back, resulting in the No Contest.
Match #3- UWC Tag Team Champions Max Gaeta & Philly Madison defeated Dave Patera & Alex Law. This was the second show in a row that Patera's tag partner stood him up forcing Patera to search for a last second replacement. Again, Patera's partner was pinned causing him the match. On his way to the back, Patera seemed pi$$ed, as his standing in UWC is slowly diminishing due to his partner Jonny Grecco's no-shows.
Match #4- Jay Lethal defeated Chris Hero in an AMAZING 30 minute match for the vacant UWC North American Title. Due to circumstances beyond his control, the former champ Rob Eckos could not make the show, therefore he was stripped of the title. Hero's scheduled opponent Reckless Youth had to cancel the night before the show. The UWC promoters decided that Lethal and Hero would then wrestle to determine the new champion. Lethal won this classic battle in 30 minutes in what will go down as one of the greatest matches in the 9 year history of the UWC.
Match #5- "Tremendous" Emil Sitoci defeated Ed "The German" Kazar. Kazar came to the ring before this match stating that he was screwed in the opening match and he challenged anyone in the back to come to the ring so he could prove he was the best in the UWC. Emil Sitoci made his way to the ring and proceded to defeat Kazar, handing him his second loss on the show. In the locker room, Kazar vowed that from now on, we were going to see a different side of him and he wasn't going to be nice anymore! Was he ever nice to begin with????
Match #6- Orphan & Billy Lassiter defeated UWC Heavyweight Champion Bobby Piper & Allison Danger. Ex-champ Lassiter pinned the current champ Piper. What does this mean for the future of the UWC? With Orphan asking for another title shot and Lassiter having just pinned the champ, who will Piper be forced to defend against next? How does Allison fit in to the picture???
