The following is an official press release from Stars & Stripes Championship Wrestling, a division of the American Wrestling Association (AWA).
We are only 2 weeks away from SSCW’s yearly spectacular RING RAGE. The event will be held at the Boonton Elks Lodge located at 125 Cornelia Street in Boonton, NJ on Friday Night March 4, 2005 with a 7PM Belltime. This will mark the sixth installment of the annual extravaganza and it may be the best yet.
Fresh off a successful tour of AWA’s Japanese affiliate Zero-One Max, Simon Diamond will finally get his shot to become SSCW Heavyweight Champion as he tangles with long reigning Champion Damian Adams. During his reign Adams has bested such foes as Rob Eckos and Chris Candido. But this may be his toughest test to date, especially with the always meddlesome Miss Kara Slice in Diamond’s corner. That’s why Damian Adams has enlisted the help of none other then the “Queen Of Extreme” Francine to watch his back during this bout and make sure there are no shenanigans.
Nick Berk has been trying to make an impact in SSCW since his arrival in 2004. Time after time he comes close but is thwarted in his efforts to obtain victory. Things won’t get any easier for Berk at Ring Rage VI as he is set to battle former ECW standout Danny Doring. Of course, Doring has other plans as he intends on taking Berk down and making his SSCW debut as resounding success.
Danny Demanto, who is still banned from officially competing in SSCW after losing a Loser Leaves SSCW Match, has issued a challenge to Pinkie Sanchez to meet him in a NO HOLDS BARRED BOUT. Demanto has informed SSCW officials that he wants to use this match with Sanchez to prove he deserves to be reinstated in SSCW. SSCW has decided to grant Demanto this opportunity but we will not sanction the match, we will merely provide a licensed SSCW referee to count 3. Therefore SSCW will have absolutely no say in the rules for the match, if there are to be any, or the stipulations.
The beautiful Noel Harlow will also be making an appearance. And in other action Fred Sampson does battle with internationally renowned star Josh Daniels, the SSCW Lightweight Championship is on the line as Ken Scampi defends against the young sensation PlaZma, rookies Aaron Stride and Sean Royal square off and SSCW Women’s Champion Alere little feather attempts to retain her coveted title against veteran and formers Champion Alicia.
**JUST SIGNED**
With the SSCW Tag Team Titles still vacant the time for potential contenders to prove themselves is now. That’s why a 4 corners Tag Team Turmoil match will be taking place at Ring Rage VI. While this match will not decide who the Tag Team Champions are it will certainly form a pecking order. The teams for this bout and tale of the tape are as follows:
Esquire: Rob Eckos & Matt Striker are the perfect combination of size, speed, looks, talent and overall skill. They may have a slight edge in this match as they are the only one of the four teams to have competed in SSCW already. They will need to utilize their experience and skills to best the other teams in this bout. The others would be wise to keep an eye out for any sign of Esquire leader Simon Diamond lurking as well.
The Untouchables: Dirty Money and Sean Lei are one of the hottest tag teams in the south. They are a fusion of old school and new school and have a knack for capturing gold. Complete with their manager, the crafty Devin Sturgis they plan on taking tag team wrestling in SSCW to all new levels.
Saturday Night Special: Chris Idol and Eric Cooper have been making waves on the indy wrestling scene recently. Now they will ply their craft in SSCW. They will be outsized by their opponents in this bout so they will have to rely on speed and cageyness to come out on top.
Heaven Sent: Brett Matthews and Brian Myers (known as the Rat Pack in NYWC) are best described as young, hungry and capable. Don’t let their youth fool you as these guys are tag team specialists. They will have to be coy and utilize their teamwork to win this one.
Tickets are priced at $15.00. For more information or to purchase your tickets log on to our website at www.sscwwrestling.com.
