Night 2 of the JPC 2005 has been moved to the Brandon All Stars!
May 20, 2005

Due to unforseen circumstances Night 2 of the Peterson Cup has been moved to the Brandon All Stars, so now both incredible shows will be taking place at the All Stars Facility.

NWA Florida President Joe Price was quoted as saying “We are very disappointed in the S. Florida venue for the tactics pulled at the last minute, but this show means more than a venue, this is about Jeff Peterson’s memory, and helping Bailee Dunnigan and her family….we realize this may be an inconvienience for our S. Florida fans but with a show of this magnitude and the causes involved and the reasons for the show we know our fans will understand!”

NWA Florida Vice President Ron Niemi was quoted as “Jeff was family, family means more than political tactics by venues, we would do anything to have Jeff here with us today and will do whatever necessary to keep the memory of Jeff where it belongs in the forefront of the greatest 2 days of Indy wrestling”

New Tickets with Special New 2 Day Packages as well as a new Discount Ticket that is available ONLY VIA PAYAPAL have been added for these spectacular events please check out http://www.nwaflorida.com/ for more info!

Peterson Cup Bonus Matches Announced

NWA FL is proud to announce that at the Brandon All Stars on Night 1 of the JPC 2005 there will be 2 bonus matches that are separate from the tournament but should tear the house down. In what will be an amazing match the NWA Southern title is on the line as champion Lex Lovett will be facing NWA TNA’s “Phenomenal” AJ Styles. Lovett recently successfully defended his Southern Title against NWA TNA Superstar Raven, beating him with the Lex Buster in front of over 3,000 fans at the St. Pete Times Forum. Lovett has also recently turned back a challenge from the monster Abyss but knows he has his hands full with AJ Styles as all experts believe Styles is one of if not THE best wrestler in the world today.

Also on June 10th For One Night Only the Strong Brothers (Sedrick and Roderick) will team together to face the “Modern Miracle” Steve Madison and Rage in the Cage 2005 Champion Erick Stevens in what promises to be a brutal matchup between 4 men who have a lot issues with each other in and out of the ring. Look for this match to set new standards in intensity!

Evans Out/Gibson In

The NWA Florida office was contacted today by Jack Evans and was notified he will be unable to compete in the Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup on June 10th and 11th due to a prior commitment.

With Evans removing himself from the tournament NWA Florida is proud to announce that the former 2 Time WWE Cruiserweight Champion James Gibson (Knoble) is now entered into JPC 2005. Gibson has been making noise throughout the wrestling the world as of late with incredible performances in both New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor and also with NWA Florida and FIP. After recently leaving WWE Gibson returned to Florida which is where he started his career in and has immediately made a major impact. Gibson’s first taste of championship glory was winning the IPW Cruiserweight Title in 2000 and now James has made it clear he plans to win the JPC in 2005 right here where it all started for him, in Florida!

James Gibson joins NWA TNA's Jerrelle Clark, NWA TNA's Petey Williams, Zero One Max's Sonjay Dutt and Ricky Reyes, Former ECW World Tag Team Chapion Tony Mamaluke, NWA Florida's Vordell Walker, New Japan's Kendo Kashin, NWA Florida X Champion and TNA star Mikey Batts, NWA TNA's Chris Sabin, FIP's Fast Eddie, ROH's Jimmy Rave, NWA Wildside's Jay Fury and Todd Sexton, IWA Mid South's Delirious and Matt Sydal in what may be the strongest of Peterson Cup fields yet.

About Jeff Peterson

Jeff Peterson was a fantastic cruiserweight who wrestled primarily in Florida and Delaware, but traveled throughout the U.S., including California. Peterson passed away after a long battle with cancer. Peterson was a 2 time IPW Cruiserweight champion and had epic battles with Jet Jaguar and Mike Quackenbush over the title. It was at the Super 8, hosted by his uncle Jim Kettner, that Jeff really began to shine and get the national recognition he deserved as he made fans and wrestlers alike a believers in his amazing abilities. Proceeds from both nights of the JPC 2005 will be donated in Jeff Peterson's name to charity.
